Forza Horizon 5 Series 6 Update

Welcome to the Series 6 Update, officially named Horizon Customs as Forza Horizon 5 celebrates both the creative and racing talents of our amazing players with important upgrades to Horizon Open and EventLab which you can read more about below. Also, we are happy to welcome back our good friend, esteemed drift aficionado Robert Glenn who has arrived in Mexico to setup Drift Club Mexico as you’re invited to push the limits of the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400 in our first post-release Horizon Story.

As always, the Festival Playlist is serving up new clothing items, cars, and horns to unlock. All of this and more awaits when Series 6 becomes available to download on Xbox, Windows and Steam from Tuesday, March 29 with seasonal content rolling out in the weeks that follow. Let’s break it down.

Horizon Open Custom Racing

Custom Racing arrives to Horizon Open allowing you to matchmake with likeminded players based on your desired racing parameters, such as PI class and type of race.

We’re also introducing a new stand-alone progression system into Horizon Open. This will apply to Open Racing, Drifting, Playground Games and Custom Racing. It doesn’t count for The Eliminator, and we’ll be moving this game mode from Horizon Open to the Online tab in the pause menu.

Starting in Series 6, any XP earned in Horizon Open contributes towards both the traditional player level and the new Horizon Open level. Each level has a specified XP target, which you can view alongside upcoming rewards in the Horizon Open tile. You’ll also find a new additional XP bar for your Horizon Open level on the post-race screen.

Badges are a new reward type earned by completing special challenges or by levelling up in Horizon Open. These add a small colorful icon beside your Gamertag and are visible in Horizon Life Free Roam, race standings and Leaderboards. Complete challenges to unlock new Badges and redeem those already unlocked via the dedicated Badges menu under the Campaign tab.

Finally, we’re also introducing a new Horizon Open Leaderboard which displays your total Horizon Open XP – it's also a great place to show off your unlocked Badges and compare XP earned with your friends and the global Forza community.

EventLab

New original props are coming to the Blueprint Builder in Series 6 to inspire your creative instincts. Look out for new concrete and plaster walls; concrete, dirt, and asphalt platforms; neon shipping containers and directional arrow decals; a tyre stack wall and concrete pillar, as well as festival-inspired towers and Lunar New Year lanterns.

Within the Rules of Play, a new «Scale Gravity» rule allows creators to either increase or decrease the gravity forces applied to a player car – from 10% impact to 200%.

On Xbox Series X|S and PC, we’ve made improvements to terrain visibility at high altitude to provide a better visual experience when playing elevated EventLab creations.

Drift Club Mexico

Drift Club is expanding to Mexico! Welshman Robert Glenn, a kindred spirit of drifters who share a real love for controlled oversteer, has flown over from Horizon’s Britain, bringing with him a new set of challenges that celebrates the engineering and technical delight of going sideways.

Players who have built the Horizon Rush Outpost will be able to start playing Drift Club Mexico immediately, taking you behind the wheel of seven of the world’s coolest drift cars – each tuned and tweaked to celebrate the past, present and future of drifting.

There are also new Drift Club themed clothing items available to unlock and playing this Horizon Story will contribute to your Festival Playlist completion in Series 6.

Additionally, by completing all six chapters, the all-electric 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400 will be added to your garage, and you’ll learn some fun insights on just how revolutionary this car is courtesy of Formula Drift champion and RTR Vehicles founder Vaughn Gittin Jr. Players can also seamlessly swap between RWD and AWD at any time when driving it in Forza Horizon 5.

2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400

Complete all six chapters of the Drift Club Mexico Horizon Story.

The future of drifting is here. Packing 1400hp under the hood with seven electric motors and incredible downforce – more than 2,300 lb. at 160mph! – the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400 unlocks the true potential of electric vehicles. Created in collaboration between Ford Performance and RTR Vehicles, this car is built for everything RTR founder Vaughn Gittin Jr. loves doing most – from drifting and gymkhana to road racing and time attack. The Mustang Mach-E 1400 is fitted with a unique chassis and powertrain for different layouts, including AWD, RWD and FWD, as well as extreme steering angles for drifting, split power delivery between the front and rear of the car, Brembo brakes akin to the Mustang GT4 and a hydraulic handbrake system. Utilizing a 56.8-kilowatt-hour battery that is cooled while charging, the Mustang Mach-E 1400 reinvigorates the thrill of driving and ensures no moment is wasted on the track.

Festival Playlist

A new Series Update means a new Festival Playlist! Over the next month, look out for new collectible Paint Barrels and miniature T-Rex dinosaurs and in celebration of the Horizon Customs theme, two EventLab events will be featured every week. We’re also giving one Seasonal Championship every week in Series 6 a custom tile featuring community captured photos.

Furthermore, going forward, completing Seasonal PR Stunts will reward Super Wheelspins.

In total, 27 new clothing items are available to acquire from the Series 6 Festival Playlist, Drift Club Mexico and the Customize Character interface. Here’s what you can look forward to:

As always, the Festival Playlist introduces four new cars to Forza Horizon 5 available to unlock throughout Series 6 – including the #NewToForza 2021 McLaren 765LT Coupe, the latest addition to the legendary Longtail family.

Here’s the full line-up:

2012 Ascari KZ1R

Earn 20 PTS during the Summer “Wet” Season on the Series 6 Festival Playlist from March 31 – April 6.

A track-tuned version of the race-bred supercar of the road, the KZ1R is capable of a top speed of 200 mph and 0-60 acceleration of three seconds. Ascari cars are hand-built on a state-of-the-art, carbon-fiber, monocoque adding to their potential as track superstar. Powered by the naturally aspirated BMW M5, 5.0-liter V8 and feather light at less than 3,000 lbs., despite luxury appointments such as electric windows, the KZR1 delivers an intensely exciting ride. The interior is all business and stripped to the bare essentials while still providing comfort inside the built-in safety cage. Outside, the front splitter and rear-wing generate additional downforce while complimenting the aerodynamic smoothness of the elegant body. Ascari built only 50 KZ1R models so the best way to enjoy this magnificent track toy is in Forza Horizon 5.

2021 McLaren 765LT Coupe

Earn 20 PTS during the Autumn “Storm” Season on the Series 6 Festival Playlist from April 7 – April 13.

A new legend to live up to the Longtail name. That’s what McLaren delivers with the 2021 McLaren 765LT Coupe – a car that is entirely focused on the driver. Iterated upon the iconic 720S, this new addition to the Longtail line innovates across every facet of the car. It’s a lighter supercar that weighs 80kg less than the already lean 720S and more powerful with 765PS and 800Nm of torque from a 4.0 litre twin-turbocharged V8. With optimized aerodynamics, a perfect mid-engine, rear wheel drive balance and track-focused dynamics, the most innovative McLaren LT ever made will have your pulse bouncing with 0-62mph speeds of 6.2 seconds and 0-124mph in only seven seconds. As indicated by the name, only 765 models will ever be produced, and for those lucky few, a sensational driving experience like no other awaits.

2018 ATS GT

Earn 20 PTS during the Winter “Dry” Season on the Series 6 Festival Playlist from April 14 – April 20.

In 1961, eight technicians and engineers were fired by Enzo Ferrari. They went on to build their own race team and production cars under the name Automobili Turismo e Sport. While the Formula 1 team failed, they did develop one of the first mid-engine road cars. There were 12 and they were called the 2500 GT. The new ATS GT was designed to re-envision that original groundbreaking design. At the heart of the new ATS GT is a McLaren 650S, a very capable V8 engine that allows this beast to accelerate from 0-60 in 2.9 seconds. What sets it apart is the unique styling details such as the opaque engine cover and a token shape in the rear pillar that presents the aerodynamic profile of the original 2500 GT.

2014 McLaren 650S Spider

Earn 20 PTS during the Spring “Hot” Season on the Series 6 Festival Playlist from April 21 – April 27.

Some might call the 650S a McLaren 12C with a facelift, but that would sell its performance far too short. With the 650S, McLaren delivers a car that is even more refined than the 12C. The 650S is lighter, faster, and nimbler than the 12C and draws cues from the now legendary P1. In the supercar horsepower battle the 650S stands its ground with horsepower worthy of its namesake (641 to be exact). True to McLaren form, acceleration is at the forefront, with 60 mph achieved in less than three seconds and more than 120 mph in a little over eight seconds. With features like brake-steering, an F1-influenced drag reduction system, and a body that increases downforce by 40 percent at speeds of 150 mph and above, the 650S is at the top of its game. It’s also a convertible, so put down the roof, take in the natural sights and enjoy a cool Mexican breeze on your next road-trip.

Car Pass Calendar

Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass holders can look forward to four new cars in Series 6. Here are the rides you can look forward to adding to your garage over the next four weeks – and they’re all #NewToForza:

1966 Oldsmobile Toronado

Available March 31 in the Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass.

The Oldsmobile Toronado is renowned by many automotive enthusiasts for being a step forward in car design. It began life as a design painting by Oldsmobile stylist David North in 1962 who created a “Flame Red Car” – a compact sports car that was never intended for production. After Oldsmobile was informed by parent company General Motors that it’d be building a competitor to the Buick Riviera and the Ford Thunderbird, the division opted to go forward with North’s design and the rest of the story is history. Oldsmobile had been developing front-wheel drive since 1958 and the Toronado incorporates this with a “Unitized Power Package” powertrain. It also has an Oldsmobile-produced, performance-boosted “Super Rocket V8” rated at 385hp and 475 lb-ft of torque, as well as automatic transmission fitted as standard – an expectation of U.S.-built luxury cars of the time.

2021 McLaren 620R

Available April 7 in the Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass.

Two worlds collide as the racetrack finally meets the road. That’s the promise of McLaren’s latest supercar, the 620R, which is based on the 570S GT4 – considered the most successful GT race car in the world. Since its 2017 debut, it has won races in every championship across the world, racking up more wins and podiums than any other McLaren to-date. As a race car, the 570S GT4 must adhere to strict motorsport regulations to compete. However, freed from those restrictions, the 620R retains the DNA of the fully homologated track car and is unleashed onto the road. Not only does it look like a race car, but it handles, performs, and feels like one too. It also lives up to McLaren’s lightweight design ethos with adjustable aerodynamic elements – including a carbon fiber rear wing, race suspension components and a powertrain recalibration – all to increase power output to 620PS. Whether you’re on the road or track, the 620R achieves 0-62mph in just 2.9 seconds, which are speeds we’d consider to be lightning fast.

2021 MINI John Cooper Works GP

Available April 14 in the Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass.

MINI vehicles adorned with the John Cooper Works moniker have always embodied the essence of motorsport. In fact, these cars are developed and tested on racetracks like the Nürburgring Nordschleife. The 2021 JCW GP is the fastest MINI ever and has been stripped for maximum acceleration and agility with a top speed of 165mph, 0-62mph in 5.2 seconds and an engine power output of 306 PS. Its dampers, stabilizers and springs have been specifically developed and fine-tuned to suit the vehicle’s handling characteristics. Combined with powerful design elements such as precise lines and edges all throughout the bodywork, the latest MINI makes a confident statement and is certain to impress.

2019 Porsche 911 Speedster

Available April 21 in the Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass.

The last of the 991.2 series 911 GT cars to be produced by Porsche is here. Celebrating the seventieth anniversary of its history in building some of the world’s most iconic sports cars, the 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster is powered by a naturally aspirated, motorsport-based 4.0-liter flat-six engine delivering 502hp and 346 lb-ft of torque. It achieves 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds, with a top track speed of 192 mph. With a low-cut front windshield and side windows, two carbon fiber streamliners atop the rear decklid as well as a manually operated lightweight fabric top, this Speedster is instantly recognizable and stands out from other 911 models. It’s also the first developed by Porsche Motorsport and characterized by its purist focus on the driving essentials.

To add the Car Pass rides released thus far to your Forza Horizon 5 garage, simply visit any Horizon Festival outpost or Player House and select “Car Pass” under the “Buy & Sell” menu.

The Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass can be purchased separately, and is included in the Deluxe Edition, Premium Edition and Premium Add-ons Bundle. With 34 cars delivered to your game weekly, one per week with an additional eight Formula Drift cars to get you started, there’s no better way to kickstart your Horizon adventure today.

Release Notes

We continue to listen closely to your Forza Horizon 5 feedback as we introduce new fixes with each game update. Check out our release notes for the Series 6 changelog and as a reminder, here’s when you can stay up to date on the issues we’re currently investigating.

Thanks to everyone who continues to share their feedback and reports with us.

What’s Next

That’s everything you can look forward to in Series 6 when the Horizon Customs Update drops on Tuesday, March 29. Looking ahead, festival organizers at Horizon Mexico are preparing to celebrate Cinco De Mayo in Series 7. Stay tuned for details in April!

Forza Horizon 5 Series 5 Update

Welcome to the Horizon Rush Takeover! Jaimin’s crew has been busy preparing for the PR Stunt Carnival as new PR Stunts and a dedicated Stunt Park invite players to leave their mark. Available to download from Tuesday, March 1, the Forza Horizon 5 Series 5 Update introduces American Sign Language (ASL) and British Sign Language (BSL) support for cinematics, new fixes and updates for known issues, EventLab improvements and more. Let’s dive in!

American Sign Language (ASL)/British Sign Language (BSL) for Cinematics

Over the years, Forza games have been recognized for their accessibility features and, with each game released, we have been able to make advancements in the accessibility features we offer players. Forza Horizon 5 has been recognized for its innovation and excellence in accessibility and we are proud to add to the available options with American Sign Language (ASL) and British Sign Language (BSL) for cinematics in the Accessibility menu. This feature works by using a picture-in-picture display of an ASL or BSL interpreter during cinematic game scenes. Players can change where the interpreter appears on screen and adjust the background color to their preference . We know that sign language can authentically convey tone and emotions which subtitles alone cannot provide and we’re excited that this feature makes Forza Horizon 5 accessible to more players.

For insights into the development of Forza Horizon 5’s latest accessibility feature, check out this Microsoft Stories blog post featuring additional perspectives from Mike Brown, Playground Games Creative Director and Microsoft’s Chief Accessibility Officer, Jenny Lay-Flurrie.

Update about Known Issues and Fixed Issues

We continue to listen closely to your Forza Horizon 5 feedback and are working hard on further fixes and updates. Here’s where you can stay up to date on the issues we’re currently investigating, thanks to everyone who has shared their feedback and reports with us.

Today we wanted to share the following improvements available in Series 5 with more to come in future updates.
Festival Playlist – This update retroactively applies points for bugged Daily Challenges and Treasure Hunt events in Series 1 and Series 2. This will also unlock the “Min, Meet Max” achievement for those who had completed all other events and challenges within a series.
Horizon Tour – We've fixed an issue where the Horizon Tour would automatically mark itself as completed on the Festival Playlist, which caused a points deduction on past Series.
Headlights – Car headlights now function correctly in online races – especially handy for those close night-time battles!
Livery Editor – We’ve reworked the layer UI to ensure layers are displayed and that numbers don’t obfuscate the layer data.
Photo Mode – We’ve fixed an issue which caused time-of-day to unintentionally progress after entering Photo Mode.
Traffic – Improvements have been made to civilian traffic synchronisation. This includes fixes for traffic vehicles not appearing in Street Races and in Horizon Life after online races.

For the complete roundup of fixes and changes in this update, check out our release notes.

Looking ahead, we’re working on some exciting improvements for Horizon Open which we'll be able to talk about soon. In addition, we're aware that Unbeatable Drivatar difficulty can have unexpected difficulty spikes. We're investigating that feedback.

We are continuing to investigate a solution to remedy erroneous lap times and high scores being posted to Rivals and PR Stunts leaderboards. As shared in January, this is not a quick fix and we remain committed to ensuring the leaderboards are fair and not compromised.

EventLab

To provide EventLab creators with a larger prop selection, we’ve added the seasonal props released in previous series updates to the Blueprint Builder. These include the holiday decorations, trees and snowmen of Series 2, and the all-new party decorations of Series 5.

When editing EventLab routes, we’ve added the ability to start editing from the start line rather than the first placed checkpoint. We’ve also fixed an issue where EventLab creations at Playground Games locations – such as the Horizon Stadium – would ignore collision settings.

PR Stunt Carnival

For the next four weeks, the Horizon Stadium is transformed into a Stunt Park featuring ramps, drift zones, loops and smashables. Mexico is also dressed up in party decorations with fireworks and confetti around the Horizon Rush Festival outpost.

In the Winter “Dry” season, look out for Dinosaur Piñata collectibles – smashing 15 of them unlocks the Orange Piñata Outfit. Elsewhere around the festival, don’t miss the new Parade Float race. It’s available throughout all of Series 5, however completing it during the Summer “Wet” season unlocks the Green Piñata Outfit.

To celebrate the PR Stunt Carnival, every week in Series 5 we’ll be adding four new PR Stunts – one of each type: Speed Zone, Danger Sign, Trailblazer and Speed Trap – for a total of 16 new PR Stunts! The Speed Zones will be added permanently, while the others are only available to complete in Series 5 and will feature a special icon to distinguish them from existing PR Stunts.

As you perform PR Stunts in Series 5, look out for the flags, ramps and cameras to be dressed in party decorations – in addition to confetti pops once completed.

Festival Playlist

On the Festival Playlist, don’t miss your chance to score PR Stunt inspired clothing as well as new horns to celebrate the carnival – including one from our friends at Minecraft

The Festival Playlist also introduces four new cars to Forza Horizon 5 – two of which are #NewToForza – and a unique Forza Edition model of an existing car. Here are the vehicles you can unlock over the coming weeks:

2018 KTM X-Bow GT4

Earn 20 PTS during the Summer “Wet” Season on the Series 5 Festival Playlist from Mar. 3 – Mar. 9.

The X-Bow – that’s pronounced “cross-bow” for the record – is one of the most extreme-looking track toys out there, so one might wonder what KTM could do to take it to the next level. The answer is not always more power or less weight. The jet fighter-like canopy of the GT4 increases aerodynamics and stops your face from peeling off at high speeds. The company has made this track-only weapon more durable, decreasing racing costs and improving dependability. Since you will find the X-Bow in many of the top racing series, such as SRO World Challenge or even the VLN series at the Nürburgring, knowing that the cost of winning just went down should make that path to victory that much easier to find. For those enjoying it in Forza, well, just keep putting it to the test and enjoying every mile.

2019 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro

Earn 20 PTS during the Autumn “Storm” Season on the Series 5 Festival Playlist from Mar. 10 – Mar 16.

Imagine a mid-size sport utility vehicle transformed into an off-roader primed for globe-trotting expeditions. That’s what Toyota built with its 4Runner TRD Pro. Rugged, durable and versatile – there's no better choice for when you need to go off the beaten path. Whether you’re hauling gear cross-country or rock-crawling, you’ll always be impressed by the sheer toughness of this rugged body-on-frame SUV. Overcoming unforgiving terrain is rooted in the heritage of the 4Runner series, and the TRD Pro amplifies it to the next level with its oversize TRD-tuned high-performance shocks and rear remote reservoirs – all while keeping itself protected with a quarter-inch thick aluminium skid plate and distinctive looks that ensure you crawl through rocks, dirt and mud in style.

2010 Noble M600

Earn 20 PTS during the Winter “Dry” Season on the Series 5 Festival Playlist from Mar. 17 – Mar 23.

Britain’s Noble Automotive builds bespoke supercars that demand attention. Not just attention from drivers who appreciate their analog pureness—Nobles are blissfully devoid of such driver-isolating distractions such as ABS and traction control—but also from those who appreciate their ideal proportions. The latest Noble, the M600, is the epitome of the breed, a mid-engined supercar with enough performance on tap to shock the established big-name players. Many cars are described as quick, but the M600’s 0-60 mph blast takes only a tick over three seconds—that’s properly, wickedly quick. Motivation comes courtesy of an unusual engine, a V8 developed by Yamaha for Volvo, although no Volvo sees the kind of power that the additional twin-turbochargers bolted up by Noble provide. Its light weight and high output (a full 650 horsepower) perfectly suits the M600’s primarily carbon fiber hand-built body and its advanced stainless steel frame. While the performance is phenomenal, it’s Noble’s dedication to the driver that makes this exceptionally well-crafted car such a delight to both push hard and appreciate standing still.

2020 Nissan GT-R NISMO (R35)

Earn 20 PTS during the Spring “Hot” Season on the Series 5 Festival Playlist from Mar. 24 – Mar. 30.

With its more aggressive styling, the upgraded 2020 R35 Nismo features faster acceleration, improved cornering force and better braking performance than the previous 2017 model. Nissan has iteratively refined and improved its R35 “Godzilla” for over a decade. Being one of the longest running sports cars in the world, it only begs the question of what's next for the GT-R line? In the interim, there’s nothing that can quite match the appeal and immediate recognition of an R35 – it’s truly iconic – and this refined iteration is certain to catch the attention of many road goers with its familiarity and subtle yet effective enhancements.

1965 MINI Cooper S Forza Edition

Earn 80 PTS on the Series 5 Festival Playlist from Mar. 3 – Mar. 30.

Small in stature but large in racing history, presence and performance, the Mini Cooper S has always held its own against much larger cars. Its unmistakable petite package is endearing to the masses and its surprising performance is profound. Now converted into an all-wheel-drive fully electric powered car boasting 235hp, its lightweight nature means you’ll be wheeling through traffic like a breeze. This custom tuned Forza Edition variant also sports a widebody kit fitted as standard and houses wider, stickier tires to ensure it’s not only fast, but grippy – making it a worthy competitor within the Super Hot Hatch division!

Car Pass Calendar

Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass holders can look forward to four new cars in Series 5. Here’s an outlook of the cars you can expect over the next four weeks – and they’re all #NewToForza:

1986 Ford Mustang SVO

Available Mar. 3 in the Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass.

In 1981, Ford established a new division within their company fittingly named the Special Vehicle Operations Department, or SVO for short. Their task was to take the Ford Mustang, a car renowned for its impeccable performance and attitude and tune it for a new era of automobiles adhering to strict regulations following the 1973 oil crisis. Not only were fuel costs going up, but for many, the muscle car was considered dead. In response, Ford’s SVO engineers opted for a turbocharged 2.3-liter inline four capable of 175hp for the car’s initial 1984 outing and allowed drivers to adjust performance through a handy “fuel grade” switch – with lower fuel consumption possible through a Bosch Fuel Injection System. With additional fine tuning over the years and a new water-cooling system, the SVO’s overall power rating increased to 200hp for its 1986 update.

2020 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro

Available Mar. 10 in the Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass.

Dare to explore the places you never thought possible. Toyota has engineered a truck for the adventurer that exists inside all of us, with newly developed hybrid technology. With 437hp delivered by a 3.5L Twin-Turbo V6 and unique placement of the electric motor ensuring an efficient transfer of power between the engine and transmission – the Tundra TRD Pro will always ensure you go the extra mile, whether it’s charging down the highway or chasing a desert trail.

2006 Noble M400

Available Mar. 17 in the Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass.

Renowned for its excellent power and handing, the Noble M400 is the track variant of the M12. It features a transversely mounted mid-engine format, featuring a retuned twin-turbo 3-liter Ford Duratec V6 with high-lift camshafts and improved fuel injection. With 425bhp, the M400 accelerates from 0-60 in 3.2 seconds according to automotive press outlets – a record that made it one of the fastest accelerating cars in the world. Noble itself claimed that the car hits 0-60 in only 4 seconds – and while that’s still a notable feat, it’s a modest assessment of the M400’s true capabilities. When driven by The Stig on the Top Gear Test Track, it impressively almost matched the Ford GT40’s lap time.

2017 Ferrari #25 Corse Clienti 488 Challenge

Available Mar. 24 in the Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass.

To celebrate the 25-year anniversary of the prancing horse’s international Ferrari Challenge racing series, the race-oriented 488 Challenge car was born. As the first ever turbocharged Ferrari to be featured in its own racing series, it surpassed the performance records of the preceding 458 Challenge EVO thanks to its 3.9-liter V8 engine outputting 670hp. With Slide Slip Control debuting on a Challenge car for the first time for improved driving dynamics and handling, the #25 Corse Clienti increases aerodynamic efficiently without compromising on the style, finesse and driving capability that is engraved in Ferrari’s long-running heritage. As quoted by the Roadshow, this is a car capable of turning experienced drivers into racers.

Showcase Remixes

Of course it wouldn’t be a global sports competition without an opening and closing ceremony. Luckily for you, the team has been busy preparing two unmissable events.

Race against a team of Monster Trucks while driving the 2018 Can-Am Maverick X RS Turbo R in Forza Horizon 5’s first Showcase Remix – a twist on “Buggy and the Beast” to kick off the Horizon World Cup. Look out for this epic opening ceremony during the Summer “Wet” season.

Closing out the festivities in the Spring “Hot” season is a Showcase Remix of “On a Wing and a Prayer” in which you’ll face off against a motocross team in the hold of the Horizon Cargo Plane! No matter the tricks up their sleeves, one thing is for certain – you’ll be behind the wheel of Mexico’s own 2017 VUHL 05RR under a wonderous night sky. Don’t miss it.

Chinese Voiceover Localization and Chinese Cars Coming to Forza

Recently Forza Horizon 5 celebrated the Lunar New Year and in Series 4, to ensure the most authentic and inclusive Forza Horizon 5 experience for gamers in China, we’re delighted to bring full localized simplified Chinese voiceovers to the game.

Chinese cars are also debuting in the Forza franchise for the first time. Look out for them on the Festival Playlist and Car Pass over the next four weeks:

2016 NIO EP9

Earn 25 PTS during the Summer “Wet” Season on the Series 4 Festival Playlist from Feb. 3 – Feb. 9.

New to the Forza franchise is Chinese manufacturer NIO with the 2016 EP9, which stands for “Electric Performance 9.” It is a limited-edition one megawatt, 3G-capable electric supercar, and the first Chinese supercar to be featured in the game. Each wheel is fitted with its own inboard motor, capable of delivering a total power of 1,360 PS. Since its inception, the NIO EP9 has broken lap records across a number of world-renowned racetracks, including the legendary Nürburgring with a time of 6:45.90 on May 12, 2017. However, the EP9 isn’t road legal and has been purely designed for track use – in the real world, at least. In Forza Horizon 5, the open road is yours to discover and the EP9 is an ideal choice to explore the rich diversity of Mexico.

2013 Wuling Sunshine S

Earn 25 PTS during the Autumn “Storm” Season on the Series 4 Festival Playlist from Feb. 10 – Feb 16.

Debuting in Forza for the first time, Wuling (“five diamonds”) is the biggest manufacturer of microvans in China. These pint-sized commercial vehicles are no bigger than a compact car but are the work horses for millions of farmers and small businesses. One of these microvans, the Wuling Sunshine, is the best-selling car of all time in China. Launched in 2002, it’s seen dozens of variants, and has become a cultural icon with Chinese consumers. The second generation launched in 2013 with an “S” variant, with technical upgrades like ABS and EBD. Powered by a 1.2-liter engine that outputs 82hp with a 5-speed manual transmission, it may not sound like a whole lot under the hood, but Forza tuners will certainly maximise its potential after an engine swap and various upgrades.

2005 MG XPower SV-R

Available Feb. 24 in the Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass.

Manufactured by MG Rover, the XPower SV-R was heavily inspired by the Qvale Mangusta and used parts from the Ford Mustang – all to potentially attract buyers in the United States. It was unveiled as a concept car in 2001 before Peter Stevens, former exterior designer of the McLaren F1, reworked its appearance to be more aggressive. Ultimately, the XPower SV-R was more of a niche sports car with an estimated 82 units produced – one of its most famous buyers being Rowan Atkinson.

2015 MG MG3

Earn 25 PTS during the Spring “Hot” Season on the Series 4 Festival Playlist from Feb. 24 – Mar. 2.

The MG3 is the most popular Chinese manufactured car sold today in the UK. Produced by SAIC and sold under the MG Motor subsidiary, the MG3 is a subcompact car fitted with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine and is built to be an affordable, everyday car taking you to your destination with ease. Production of the MG3 begins in China before final assembly at the MG Rover production line in the UK.

In addition to the Chinese cars featured above, the Festival Playlist features another car to unlock and add to your garage:

2012 Porsche 911 GT3 RS 4.0

Earn 25 PTS during the Winter “Dry” Season on the Series 4 Festival Playlist from Feb. 17 – Feb 23.

The 911 GT3 RS 4.0 is a harmonious balance of style and performance. With 600 models immediately sold out, Porsche had produced something incredibly special. Most GT3 owners frequently visit the track to push their rides to the limit and the RS 4.0 was the best for its time. It carries 50 additional horsepower through enhanced airflow and larger displacement due to a stroker crankshaft and lightweight titanium connecting rods, with a single-mass flywheel that helps it rev quickly. Whether you’re on the road or track, the 911 GT3 RS 4.0 is fast, elegant in design and loud. You’ll hear that flat-six scream no matter the powerband.

Car Pass Calendar
Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass holders will receive four new cars throughout Series 4, including the aforementioned 2005 MG XPower SV-R. Here are the rides you can look forward to over the coming weeks:

2010 Porsche 911 Sport Classic

Available Feb. 3 in the Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass.

250 units that were all sold in less than 48 hours. That’s the success story of the 911 Sport Classic. Porsche unveiled the limited version of the 911 Carrera S Coupé at the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show. Inspired by the 1973 Carrera RS 2.7, the 911 Sport Classic is fitted with a 3.8-liter six-cylinder engine that outputs 402hp. Innovative for its time, the car incorporates a resonance intake manifold with 6 vacuum-controlled switching flaps and features a fixed 'duck tail' rear wing akin to the 1973 Carrera RS 2.7. Porsche also gave it a specifically developed Sport Classic Grey body color.

1992 Mazda 323 GT-R

Available Feb. 10 in the Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass.

The Mazda Familia, also known as the Mazda 323, Mazda Protegé and Mazda Allegro is a line of small family cars manufactured between 1963 and 2003. The 323 GT-R is considered legendary in Japanese hot-hatchback design and was even homologated for rally with more aggressive parts fitted to make it race ready. One peculiar twist is how the car’s speed limit could be bypassed by simply removing a screw on the back of the instrument cluster. How delightful.

2021 Volkswagen Golf R

Available Feb. 17 in the Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass.

Produced since 1974 across eight generations, the Volkswagen Golf is considered one of the most renowned hatchbacks. The 2021 revision features engine options with compact petrol, diesel and hybrid powertrains. It’s even fitted with an AWD turbo, which not only sounds amazing but ensures you have the right amount of grip when taking tight turns and corners. Take it for a test drive and you’ll understand just how incredibly fun this hatchback really is.

To add all the Car Pass rides released thus far to your Forza Horizon 5 garage, including those featured above, simply visit any Horizon Festival outpost or Player House and select “Car Pass” under the “Buy & Sell” menu.

The Forza Horizon 5 Car Pass can be purchased separately and is included in the Deluxe Edition, Premium Edition and Premium Add-ons Bundle. With 34 cars delivered to your game weekly, one per week with an additional eight Formula Drift cars to get you started, there’s no better way to kickstart your Horizon adventure today.

Forza Horizon 5 - January 11,2022 Community Update

Playground Games
Tuesday, January 11, 2022

We hope you all had a safe and wonderful holiday break! With our teams back in the office, we’ve begun working on game fixes and improving the overall game experience – a process that will continue throughout 2022 and which could not happen without your continued feedback and support.

Here is an update on some of the areas that we’re currently working on with our goal being to roll them out as soon as we can:

  • Accolades - We know players have experienced issues with Accolades not unlocking or resetting and we understand how frustrating this can be. We’re also aware of misleading descriptions that are confusing for players. We’re continuing to work through addressing these and you’ll see more fixed in the next update.

  • EventLab - Based on the feedback we have received from you, our top priority is introducing the ability to save and edit EventLab content post-creation. We’re currently working on this and hope to release in an upcoming update.

  • Festival Playlist - We know the Festival Playlist has been an area of concern for Forza Horizon 5 players. We’re taking the necessary steps to ensure that future challenges and objectives can be completed by all players. In addition, we’re working on a solution to retroactively apply points for bugged Daily Challenges and Treasure Hunt events in Series 1 and Series 2. This will also unlock the “Min, Meet Max” achievement for those who had completed all other events and challenges within a series. Stay tuned for additional details.

In the meantime, we’re aware of an issue that shows the incorrect total value of Series Points earned by some players when viewing a previous Series Playlist. Our team has identified that this is caused by the auto-completion of the Horizon Tour in each season and we’re currently investigating a solution.

  • Wheels - We’re investigating numerous issues around wheel support in Forza Horizon 5, especially for the PC version. These include a crash when closing pop ups or Wheelspins with a Fanatec wheel, missing wheel mapping on the Hori Force Feedback wheel and a lack of rumble functionality that is separate to force-feedback.

We’re also looking into why the handbrake for Thrustmaster and Fanatec models does not work consistently for some users, as well as a specific Logitech wheel issue in which there is no longer any force feedback produced after suspending the title.

  • Leaderboards - We’re investigating a solution to remedy erroneous lap times and high scores being posted to Rivals and PR Stunts leaderboards. This remains a high priority for our team and we hope to introduce new safeguards to tackle the situation around cheating in the future. We don’t expect this to be a quick fix but we’re committed to ensuring the leaderboards are fair and not compromised.

There are many more issues being worked on alongside these. As always, your feedback and input has been invaluable in tracking down and fixing the issues. We want to thank you all for your patience!
