Some people would like to bring back pieces that have been removed in the graphics update and try modding new clothes. Let's hope it works out!
I'm open to release other things or help out modders in other ways, so if you're working on a mod and need some help, feel free to reach out on the Discord or the Forum.
Happy modding, Daniel
Our next game is going to be a sci-fi city builder with production chains!
Hello everyone!
Founders' Fortune is the type of game one could work on forever. And as you see with today's update, we still provide support and fixes and will do so in the future.
However, if we never try making anything else, we will not improve as game developers. And that's why today, I'm happy to announce our next game: InfraSpace!
InfraSpace is a sci-fi city builder - but every resource you produce has to go through your transport infrastructure. In order to thrive in this solar system, you'll not only have to start mining operations and manage production chains, but also make sure your road network is up to the task.
As with Founders' Fortune, we want to make the initial development accessible to everyone so that we can get as much feedback as possible!

Devlog
During Founders' Fortune, we have been on pretty good terms with the community most of the time. The only problem was that sometimes players had to wait for a long time to get any news about the next update. This time, we'll try to improve that by providing a devlog with weekly updates.
We already have entries for the last couple of weeks, so check it out: Devlog
Prototype Screenshots
This is still pretty far off from the finished game, but should give you an idea of what we're working on:
Release 1.0.5 rebalances ghost quests and adds Japanese and Czech languages
Hey everyone!
PSA: We just announced our next game! Check it out
I just published update "Release 1.0.5" and with that you should be much more likely to get ghost quests and have people join your village. Building a relationship with friendly ghosts has a bigger impact on that probability.
Also, age speed now impacts how fast children learn and get bonus/malus experience points to make it more balanced. If childhood is shorter, it also takes a little less time to acquire these points. The effect has not been completely balanced out, so if you want to have a long childhood and a lot of points, you can still do that.
There are also a bunch of fixes:
Fixed an issue where you couldn't load your save
Patients no longer walk away when a doctor is taking care of them
Fixed a bunch of translation issues
Fixed a bug where goblins would spawn with green heads and different skin colors on the rest of their body
Fixed a bug where ghosts would immediately disappear after joining a village
Fixed an issue that was hopefully responsible for buggy floor switching. Let me know if you still encounter any problems when you switch floors!
Happy playing! Daniel
Bugfix & Balancing Update 1.0.3 + Developer Name change to "Dionic"
Happy New Year Everyone!

Since no major issues have turned up in Release 1.0.2, I have waited a bit until enough small fixes accumulate to fix them all at once with this minor update. Enjoy!

Developer Name Change
"Oachkatzlschwoaf Interactive" was a great name with a lot of personality that created a bunch of funny moments :) However it's no surprise that people find it hard to write down or remember, even if they're German or Bavarian like us. We could never use an email address like "daniel@oachkatzlschwoafinteractive.com", it's just too difficult.
So, after a lot of thinking, we settled on a new name: "Dionic". It's an artificial word with no particular meaning, but it sounds cool. If you send save games to me or want to reach me for business things, you can now use "daniel@dionicsoftware.com" as well as "daniel@foundersfortune.com".
This name change doesn't change anything for you as the player, but it's important to get any confusion out of the way and say goodbye to our old and fun name in a proper way :)
Happy playing!
Bugfix Update 1.0.2
Thanks for all the reports and feedback since the release! It's been pretty stable until now, but here are a couple of bugs I fixed:
Fixed a bug where you couldn't enter the number in the production configuration of workshops
Fixed a bug where some quests would disappear on reload
Fixed a bug where the shift key didn't enable extra precision when moving furniture
Fixed a bug where children could get the masterpiece quest
Fixed a bug that spammed the error logs
Fixed a bug where you couldn't load some old saves from Beta 1.3.1
If you find any more, don't hestitate reporting them. Happy playing!

How Founders' Fortune came to be
I could write a whole essay on the journey, but in the interest of brevity, I'll restrict myself to a couple of bullet points that might be interesting to you:
I wrote the first line of code on June 25th, 2017
I've been making games in my free time for years, but have been struggling to make anything worthwhile playing. After a particularly bad project, I wanted to focus on the fun and on finishing the project this time around
After a while, my friend RobotK joined and took over the graphics
In 2018 I couldn't really work on the game because I was in abroad working on robotics
In 2019, RobotK and I decided to take it seriously and take 8 months of full time development to finish the game.
We moved back in with our parents so we could save money while we weren't earning anything or going through education
One of our first important features was the in-game feedback box to receive as much information about how the players like the game as possible
In April 2019, Youtuber Dan Field discovered us and set off a wave of interest. Back then the game was free because we were desparately trying to get any players we could find
We continued updating every 1.5 - 2 months until we released into Early Access on July 19th 2019
It was received a lot better than we ever imagined with a 92% positive rating
Even though the game was making money, RobotK had to go back to his education and I decided to take the money we made to improve the game as much as I could
I released a couple of updates alone, but soon brought on help from freelancers, like Polysquid or Rookbird
In Spring 2020 I hired a part-time programmer to help with making additional features. He went on to make the whole quest system, among other things.
After 15 Alpha Versions, and 1 Beta Version, more than 4.500 submitted in-game feedback texts and more than 1 million hours played, Founders' Fortune leaves Early Access on Dec 18th 2020.
It's been a long and amazing journey. Both for me and for everyone that followed it or helped out. I kept the history short, but if you have any questions, ask away :)
Thanks and Credits
There are so many people to thank, but I want to especially highlight
RobotK and Dávid who made the game with me
The contractors who helped out when I couldn't do it myself
The community translators who've made the game more accessible to thousands of people
The early supporters, especially those who bought supporter packages even though the game was free
The influencers who got the word out in the first place
Our special community VIPs who've been around for so long and who've helped and welcomed new players
The community itself who was eager to provide feedback and uploaded broken saves so I could fix them for the update
I added the credits in game to properly thank everyone, so check those out. They contain some bonus pictures :)
The Future
Founders' Fortune is a finished game and now that it has left Early Access there are no big expectations for "indefinite updates" anymore.
Still, I'd like to guarantee that we will be around fixing bugs and addressing balancing issues in the future. Especially in the next couple of days, but also weeks from now. Just make sure to share them on our Discord or in the Forums.
We also have some thoughts about a 1.1 update with some features. Probably Dávid is going to work on that while I pursue a new idea for a city builder. Again, if you want to keep up with our work, sign up here: http://foundersfortune.com/newsSignup
And now, it's finally time to wish you all Happy Holidays and a Happy New Year! See you around!

For this update, we planned to focus on fixing bugs and making sure the game was properly finished. Still, we managed to sneak in a couple of extras for you.
Mac Support (I have been getting a lot of emails asking for it)
Balancing (The game progresses more quickly, professions level up sooner, larger stockpiles, ...)
Credits (with bonus pics)
New walls and floors
Tons of small fixes
There is more to talk about, but I'll save it for the official release announcement on Friday. See you then and happy playing!
Beta 1, the Graphics Update is available!
Hello everyone and welcome to Beta 1!
As the name says, this time we’ve completely revamped most of Founders’ Fortune’s graphics! Check out the update mini trailer:
[previewyoutube="8zM-XFtvjVE;full"]
Here are a couple more screenshots for your viewing pleasure:
Other Features in Beta 1
Besides giving you basically a full remastered edition of the game, we spent some extra time to include additional content as well:
Ghost Quest with 3 different outcomes
Can use closets to change appearance
Black skin color
Corpses turn into skeletons after some time
New shipbuilding technology and shipyard to start your NewGame+
World creation settings that allow you to change your play style
Animal zone helps keeping animals in their pens
The Future
As announced in our last post, the next update will be release 1.0. We have reached most of the goals we have set out to do, even surpassed them in some areas and were able to work a lot longer on Founders’ Fortune than we could ever imagine. Today, we will not make any promises for additional content beyond version 1.0. In the end, it depends on how much players like the game after early access and we’ll make a decision when the time is right.
Thanks a lot to all of you, it wouldn’t have been possible without you.
If you experience any issues with Beta 1, let us know in the forums or on Discord. Happy playing!
Beta 1, the Graphics Update, releases on Friday, October 30th!
Hello everyone!
After a whole bunch of work, I can finally reveal the release date for Beta 1: This Friday, October 30th! We will also have our first ever discount with this update, so if you or a friend are thinking about buying the game, this will be your chance.
Besides converting almost every piece of Founders' Fortune into a new, better look, we also took some extra time to add additional content for you, which I will reveal during the next few days, starting right here:
Does anyone of your villagers have a dark past? The memories that haunt their dreams might just come alive and haunt the village instead...
...what happened here?
I will not make separate Steam post for every bit that's revealed, so if you're interested in the details, check out our Twitter or the Discord Server. I hope you understand :)
