Today we are very excited to launch a major new feature update for FourChords Guitar Karaoke: Pro Chords mode. It allows you to play most songs in our library with more sophisticated chord derivatives that make the songs sound much closer to the originals.
Traditionally FourChords has provided you with arrangements of hit songs that can be played with the most popular basic guitar chords. This makes it extremely easy and fun to play your favorite songs with your guitar.
As an example, the previous version of Oasis’s Wonderwall only included its standard chords Em, G, D and C. With the new Pro Chords mode this classic song can now also be played with Em7, G, Dsus4, A7sus4 and Cadd9, which makes it sound almost like the original.
Try out the Pro Chords mode today and hear the difference yourself. These small variations of the original chords are often the “secret sauce” that makes certain songs sound the way they do.
All in all, this update adds 73 new chords for our song arrangements, so even players with good guitar skills can find new chords to master. We hope you enjoy the Pro Chords update and we can’t wait to hear your thoughts about it.
In addition we included a new strumming feature in a previous update – check out these two cool new features now!

FOURCHORDS FOR STEAM HAS ARRIVED
Since 2011 our company has been on a mission to make guitar playing more accessible and easy for everyone. We believe that FourChords Guitar Karaoke app gives guitar players of all skill levels the best interactive songbook and learning companion for PC.
Just pick a song from the starter catalogue of over 100 hit songs, grab your guitar and start playing. Unlike other some guitar games in Steam, we don’t listen or analyze your playing. We just give you the best karaoke-style play view and simple video lessons on learning the most important chords used in the world's best songs.
After months of hard development, we are super excited to have the Early Access version of FourChords available for the Steam community this week.
Our tech team is full of gamers who have been using Steam for playing our favorite games for years. Bringing our music app to Steam has been an awesome learning experience for all of us. When designing the big screen version of FourChords we made some big design choices:
- We streamlined the app’s functionality to focus on its most important features.
- We included chord instructions and playback options directly to the play screen.
- We built a new kick-ass sound engine by using Unity’s sound mixer.
We hope you find this first Early Access version of FourChords Guitar Karaoke fun and useful. We plan to follow up with bi-weekly updates by adding new features and songs packs.
Here are some of the potential upcoming features we have in our development icebox:
- Animated demonstrations for the most useful strumming techniques.
- Steam achievements.
- New mode that allows playing with more advanced chords (dominant, suspended).
Please note that these potential features are presented in no particular priority order and something may change based on the feedback we get from the Steam community.
Which other features would you like to see? We’d love to hear from you.
