Now that the testing of the new enviroment, new models, dynamic weather are done i have reverted the game to the all favourite version1.3 of the RPG element of Frigore !

Now its a matter of time until the new version of the RPG element is changed. I will let you know as soon as its near completion :)

Hello everyone ! I hope every single one of you are doing great !

This weeks update consist of major changes to the game and we are almost ready to switch to the RPG element i have been working for a long time. This weeks update includes the following :


  • Completely changed the zombie skins/reworked
  • Changed zombie animations
  • Reworked surface with proper sound effects/footsteps
  • Made zombies walk slower with new animations
  • Remastered the dynamic weather, staring day and cycling through night
  • Ambience to day/evening/night sounds added
  • Ambience music during gameplay added
  • Added rigid-bodies to dead zombies and changed some gravity settings
  • Buffed the pistol from 30 to 40 base damage
  • Small graphics changes for better visuals


Until next update , expect to see the new gun and a more expanded area with objectives !

Update v2.0 Remastered BETA/Game rework

Hello everyone !
I hope you are doing well ,

The past couple of months i had some minor health problems/University and other personal things to do. As i promised but not delivered on time was the remastered/reworked version of Frigore. This update was supposed to be released along time ago but as i said i had some important things. I apologise for this and hope i can make it up to you all. This time i have more time and more focus to give you the game i promised. The following release "v2.0" is an experimental BETA for the owners of the game and it is still in the 10% of the work i will provide. Everything in this update is in very early stages and i will provide details below on the new gameplay and mechanics of the game.

V2.0 - BETA - PROVIDES THE FOLLOWING:


  • Remade the game into a wave/survival/endless shooter.
  • A small dimension map for testing called "Forest House" that will be expanded very very soon.
  • So far 2 weapons and the rest are almost ready for next weeks update : M4A1, FN-SCAR and many more.
  • Dynamic weather and day/night cycles. During the night , the visibility of the enemies is much harder , as in day time is much more easier to spot them.
  • Timed based ammo spawns found in the main building , making it risky to attempt to restock on ammo due to the complexity of the interior.
  • Simple timer to track your survival rate "Wave counter and player progression underway".
  • Smoother framerate + better graphics and more post-processing features.
  • Dynamic rain and fog
  • Fixed dark spaces and Hard shadow that made it impossible to see.
  • Better navigation on AI and pathfinding.
  • Reworked main menu scene to fit the gameplay.
  • Lag issues fixed.
  • Fixed all bugs that made your character fall under the map.
  • No duplication glitch/removed inventory interface.
  • Fixed issues with enemies passing through trees and doors - No clipping.


This just a test for the game and i hope it works better this time. As the older version of the game had many issues + bugs and problems, i believe that this time everything will be resolved and we will end up with a better game experience!

Next month Update on V2.1


  • FN-SCAR weapon (automatic).
  • Expanded map with more checkpoints + weapons + ammo crates.
  • In game random events that will trigger effects,difficulties,boosts etc...
  • New enemy variant.


Lastly i want to say thank you for everyone that supported the game so far. I want to say that, this time updates and responses are going to be more consistent. I will post a future roadmap and the progress on the CO-OP multy play very soon with pictures/videos.

I am remaking\remastering Frigore !

I took the decision a couple of days ago to remaster Frigore and update the game !
You can help as well by giving ideas on what you want to see in the game.
Remastered version will include new features like :

  • New weapons
  • Quests
  • Dynamic weather
  • Level\Progression system
  • New enemies
  • Better AI pathfinding
  • Storyline
  • Roadmap for future updates


I wont write too much stuff , cause i want to hear ideas from you as well :)
The game will be similar to the snow\cold atmosphere with all the above features !

About Frigore's future

Hello everyone ,

This is a message regarding Frigore's future. The first month of the game was super exciting for me , as most of you wrote very positive reviews and left me a positive feedback. I was happy that i offered a free-to-play game to the community taken out of my time and money. But last 2 months was a disaster. Irrelevant and trollish reviews overwhelmed the game.
Reviews include :

-meh no chicks
-no fun. zombie me dead
-Uncle Terry did not have fun
-my 1050 is struggling so i cant enjoy it (recommended is 1060 3gb)

and many more...

The game has its bugs but its still a functioning game that you can play and still enjoy the shooting\killing , jump scares , exploration.
As a solo developer that is now working on future games for this platform , seeing my game go from "very positive" to "mixed\negative" makes me sad. I pointed out in every update of the game that the game has bugs and i was working every day to fix them. Giving free-to-play to the community was a mistake, meaning that every 5 year old that cant play games correctly can come in and leave a review. I was at a point that until yesterday i wanted to remove the game from steam. But came to a conclusion that i will be converting the game from free-to-play to 2$, NOT FOR THE MONEY , but just to keep the trolls out of the review section. Hopefully future players of Frigore can enjoy the game with and without its bugs.

Having a bad game as a developer ruins the future of your upcoming games. As of now , Frigore will remain in an "Idle" state until further notice !

Thank you to everyone that supported the game and me so far ! I promise that my future projects will reflect to my past mistakes to the game and avoid them !

Reverted the game back to v1.3 that the inventory was working well with no bugs.

Frigore update v1.4

Hello every one !

Its been a while since last update , but now the new area with the new encounter is on the game !

PLEASE READ

When you unlock the door to enter the new area , make sure :

  • You have plenty of ammo + items
  • You save the game , because if you die (and you will) you will lose items in the new area and be unable to get back to reclaim them !
  • Don't get nervous


UPDATE v1.4 INCLUDES


  • New area that is located in the tunnels , far end where the locked door is
  • The key to access the door that can be found in the radio tower
  • New enemy with 30,000 lifepoints (a normal zombie has 150)
  • Improved performance (especially in the new area)
  • New out of map Easter eggs for the hunters (props YouTube channel : JustJack)
  • New zombie attack sounds
  • increased shotgun damage output and headshot damage


Im still working every day on the game , bugs are everywhere and im trying to fix everything and keep everyone happy ! Thank you everyone for the wonderful reviews and discussions we have together ! :)

Update v1.3

Hello everyone , i hope you are all having a great weekend and i hope all of you are safe ! :)

This update is focused on all the suggestions and changes all of you wanted in the game !

New additions

  • Stamina bar (So you cannot endlessly outrun and kite the zombies)
  • New hidden key + door that opens the next map (Once open , the next area is blocked by barrels. No need to go searching for it, in the next update the hint to find the key will be revealed in game.)
  • Loud scream from zombies that detect you and come to attack


Buffs/Nerfs

  • Flashlight is now incredibly useful (3x faster take out time and hide)
  • Flashlight is brighter and has increased beam range
  • Reduced zombie damage from 25-50 to 20-40
  • Zombies react to shots from greater distance (Bring the axe in more use)
  • Shotgun shell ejection speed from 100 to 200
  • Pistol minor damage decrease from 40 to 35


Changes and reworks

  • Removed running and walking head-bob (No dizzy shakes)
  • Removed jump sounds (If people want them back in the future i will add them again)
  • Removed weapon sway and now the aiming is super clean and very useful to ADS(aim down sight)
  • Radio tower zombie silhouette removed (jumpscare is still there)


Fixes/Bugs

  • Fixed main menu bug that let you fly and look around


Performance

  • Did some shadow and light adjustments, please let me know if the performance is now better !


Waiting for more suggestions and everything you want in the game !!! Please let me know. Im working on the "building mechanics" and the new map right now ! :) Will provide screenshots within the next week !

UPDATE V1.2

Hello everyone ! :)

Today i fixed the LAG issues some of you had. The issue was low framerate sometimes and low framerate on low spec PC's. I added occlusion culling to the camera so it wont render all the map at once. Also changed the graphic tier from low to high as a default now that the framerate is better !

This was a small daily update so make sure you read the V1.0 and V1.1 for the upcoming releases and the yesterdays nerfs and buffs in the game!

I want to thank every single one of you that left me a review and point out so many things that needed to be fixed ! I appreciate everyone of you :) Give me the time i need and i will provide you with a great free to play game !
