Corrected a NavMesh issue in The Hotel which prevent the monster from moving around.
With Steam Scream wrapping up, pumpkins have been removed from the game.

FULL RELEASE: 4th map and return of Halloween

Hey everyone,

This Halloween, I've got something special for you: The Minka. It's an old Japanese house, complete with a creaky oriental deck, that too-quiet tatami room, and a pitch-black cave. I promise, it's designed to make you jump out of your seat a time or two.

With the release of this map, I'm saying goodbye to the early access stage. It's been a wild ride, especially with those pesky Unity hiccups recently. The game might not have blown up the charts, but every moment spent building it has meant the world to me. Your thoughts, comments, and even the critiques has been a huge help.

So, here's a big thanks for diving into the scares with me. If you're up for it, venture into The Minka. And hey, keep the lights on this Halloween, just in case!

Lockpicking

Not all loot is easy to get to!

All Omnitools now come pre-loaded with the Lockpick Module. Use it to unlock chests and doors or simply as an alternative to searching for the keys!

What's new:



  • All new Lockpick Module!
  • Updated graphics for Omnitool tabs.
  • Locked chests added to all maps.
  • Textured light for the flashlight.
  • New in-game tutorial entry for Omnitool module swapping.

Main Menu

  • TUTORIAL tab renamed to GAME GUIDE.
  • Lockpick entry added to GAME GUIDE.

The House

  • Locked door between kitchen and corridor (Easy Difficulty).
  • Added 2 chests filled with loot.

The Hotel

  • Fixed an issue where the monster could pass through a locked door.
  • Added 3 chests filled with loot.

The Metro

  • Locked second door into the middle room (Medium Difficulty).
  • Removed key for the rooster door.
  • Added 3 chests filled with loot.

Hotfix

Fixed a small issue that caused Carry Weight to display as zero on non-server players.

Passive Skills

Unlocking new characters finally makes sense!

All characters now have a passive skill. The first six ones have been given Athletic, which increases your stamina by 20%. The more interesting passives to spice up your gameplay are tied to the unlockable characters:

  • Tech-Savvy - 25% reduced module cooldown.
  • Muscular - 10% increased carry capacity.
  • Cold-Blooded - 20% less visible to monster.


Minor changes to the Main Menu



UNLOCK menu

  • Jumps to first locked item, if any. Skipping out-of-season unlockables.
  • Passive skill added to the description of characters.


CHARACTER menu

  • New window with description and passive skill of selected character.
  • Small delay before reverting displayed character, when cursor leaves portrait.


Wave Theme



Looking at the ocean is relaxing, so why not bring a piece of it along with you?

The new wave theme can be unlocked with 10 Copper and 15 Plastic.

Halloween Event

Hello Scavengers,


it's only been a month since the release of FROM FEAR, but with Halloween quickly approaching, a spooky event is in order!

The Metro


Starting from the 25th of October you'll be able to explore a completely new map: The Metro. It boasts dimly lit hallways that'll send shivers down the spine of even the most experienced scavenger! Keep your eyes peeled and you might even come across two new types of resources: Wires and Rubber.



Pumpkins? Pumpkins!


Pumpkins have started sprouting up on all maps. What seemed like an isolated case has quickly grown into a large-scale infestation! Collect enough of this exotic resource and you'll be able to unlock a new character: Esther, the vampire.

More unlockables to spend your hard-earned pumpkins on will be released closer to Halloween.

Pumpkins will be available from October 25 to November 1.

Difficulty Selection!

Hi there everyone!
I read that some players had difficulties with the game, so I decided to introduce some options to make the experience more accessible.

The following difficulties can be selected when creating a lobby:

Easy

  • 25% increased grace and invisibility duration for monster.
  • 0% chance to add extra aggro at the end of a hunt (Mega hunt starts at 10 aggro).
  • 5% reduced speed when chasing players.


Normal

  • This used to be the default.


Hard

  • 20% decreased grace and invisibility duration for monster.
  • 100% chance to add extra aggro at the end of a hunt (Mega hunt starts at 10 aggro).
  • 2.5% increased speed when chasing players.
  • Monster starts at 2 aggro.


This update also contains a fix:

  • Fixed a bug that caused crates in the first level not to be lootable.

Hotfix

Fixed an issue which made it impossible to join through friend list or invite. Creating a private lobby now works as expected.
