Alpha Version Access
First and foremost, we want to show our current progress to those who are concerned about the future of the Frozen Flame. In the alpha version, you can explore the foundation of the new biome.

Keep in mind that it's still missing balance, optimization, and localization. We've already conducted closed testing and are now actively working on the beta version, which will include quests, rebalancing, and all core activities.
How to switch to the Alpha branch
To switch into the Alpha branch you need to open game properties in steam:
Proceed to the “Betas” tab and select “alpha” in the drop down menu:
To switch back - select “None”.
IMPORTANT: Backup your game save before testing, as many aspects will change in the final version.
How to backup files
To make backups you should navigate to your save files location. The path should look like this:
Copy the “SaveGame00” - “SaveGame04” folders to a different location. If something unfortunate happens to the files during your Alpha experience, you can place the copies back and overwrite the broken saves.
Price Reduction
Due to numerous requests, we have decided to reduce the game's price soon to make it more accessible.
All previous purchasers will receive a Primal pack (will be sold separately) and the Golden Harp pack (not for sale) as a token of our appreciation for your patience and support.
Future Plans
The beta version update and release date will depend on open alpha test results.
After releasing this update, we plan to transition to developing the final part of the game, which will include the Ice Citadel area and end-game activities. Some of the content for this update is already prepared and waiting to be unveiled, so we hope this will expedite the process. Rest assured, we are committed to bringing the story to its grand conclusion.

As players continue to engage with the game and express concern about its future, we aim to clarify a current stage of development.
Next Update
Since the last update, our dedicated team of enthusiasts has been developing the game despite the challenging times. Finally, we plan to begin beta testing for the next major update this spring.
The exact date will be announced on Discord at least a week prior to the event.
Here are some changes to look forward to: - A portal to the next biome (although there's much work to be done, you'll be able to engage with new enemies, items and armor) - An accelerated and refined combat system - Ability Tree update - Game balance update - Fixes based on player feedback (bird flight fixes, loot pickup fixes, etc.)
Focus to Co-op Experience
We have decided to shift our focus entirely to cooperative PVE adventure, possibly with optional PVP arenas. Moving forward, each game world will have its own "irreversible" state with gradually increasing difficulty. This change will reduce grinding and introduce more new activities and challenges.
Following the update release, we plan to close the official game servers, which were initially more PVP-oriented. However, players can still maintain and develop their own servers with their own rules.
Pricing and demo
We also plan to release a free demo this spring and are considering a price reduction. If we proceed with this, all current players will receive a free DLC containing special items. This is our attempt to make the game more accessible to players. Please let us know your thoughts on this.

Autumn has already arrived and many of you have been eagerly awaiting the next updates, so it's time to tell you what we're working on right now.
Cursed Lands
First and foremost, we’re working on the next large biome and the continuation of the campaign.
Traveling among flying islands has brought a lot of new sensations, but many people miss large locations like the Cradle of the Keepers. The Cursed Lands will fill in.
We have to warn you. Pilgrim should not expect a warm welcome, especially if you come unprepared - The Cursed Land is one of the final locations before the Frozen Citadel, and it will put ones’ skills to the test.
We should preemptively warn you that you won't be able to fly here. You will need to explore the surrounding area on foot and exerсise caution. It's not just about poisoned clouds and contaminated waters here…
Flora and Fauna
Those who have participated in the very first tests will remember the "old friends" - dangerous underground beetles and wild lizards, distant relatives of the peaceful Ku. This lands belong entirely to them. Between the lizards' agility and beetles' ambushes, battles will prove to be interesting, yet dangerous.
Whoever vanquishes them will be rewarded with new resources, which players can use to finally acquire chitin armor.
And don't forget about the local exotic plants. They will serve as components for creating new, unique dishes.
It is said that the recipes for these dishes have long been forgotten by the residents of Arcana. But maybe someone remembers the distant taste of "Mountain Giant Stew", which gave incredible strength?
New Boss
In the depths of the cursed lands, players will encounter a new boss. Do we really need to specify that it is deadly dangerous and one must prepare thoroughly for this encounter?
Development Timeline
The development budget has decreased following the spring update, which made us reduce the team. Obviously, this affects the development speed. However, despite some difficulties, we continue to work and plan to bring the project to release.
The good news is that the majority of content is already done to some capacity (including the final boss). Most of the development time is spent on game design and creating new locations.
We are also develop a range of other improvements and plan to add orders and idols (familiar to you from the Cataclysm mode) to the campaign mode.
And while we are working on the new biome and features, we also got plans to release a small update with the most anticipated fixes (including flight-related ones) so you won’t have to wait any longer for them. Please inform us if you have any requests or suggestions.

Dev Diary #3: Future plans
It has been just over a month since the last major update, and we want to share with you what is happening inside the studio, as well as to tell you about our future plans.
How was Early Access?
Before the release in Early Access, the game was in development for over 5 years. Initially, it was developed by a small indie team, which eventually expanded up to 20 people.
After the release in Early Access, the pace of work was frenzied, and we literally didn't sleep to deliver everything we promised during the long project lifetime. This was justified on the one hand, but on the other hand, the tight deadlines resulted in errors that many of you have experienced.
The most unpleasant ones were wiping all servers and periodic players’ house breaking. We apologize for those again. We are taking all possible measures to prevent such problems in the future.
Although the overall reviews of the game are still mixed, a decent part of the negativity was in the first few days of Early Access due to the lack of public servers and content. Both moments are already fixed, and we continue to strive to gradually achieve consistently positive ratings of the game. After all, we have also received a lot of words of support and truly useful reviews, some of which are now pinned in the company chats and inspire us to move forward.
In any case, we are glad that we released the game in Early Access first and hope that we can release it together with you.
By the way, many people ask about the game demo version. Steam is currently testing the trial system, and we are looking forward to use it. This will allow you to continue playing immediately after purchase. However, if this option does not appear in the coming months, we will release a traditional game demo version.
What's happening now?
As we have already told you before, we are currently working on a new big biome, which takes time. Dragon Grove was released so quickly cause it was already half-ready by the time of Early Access release. Now, a large location is being created almost from scratch, including new quests, equipment, and more. Some of the monsters are ready, but they still need to be animated and AI worked out. In the future, we will definitely share more details.
We would also like to refine and split the current survival mode into 2 maps: one will provide a tougher cooperative survival experience, and the other will focus on PVP and RPG elements of the game. The idea is to give you the choice and the variability without compromising the speed of developing the main campaign. As before, we plan to beta-test these changes first.
In addition, we are also working on various improvements and changes that will make the game more enjoyable.
What's next?
We read all reviews in Discord and Steam to understand your expectations better and plan to spend more time checking the quality and the balance of the game so that you don't have to suffer from grinding and errors again. Based on this, we have decided to update the future development plan:

Greetings, pilgrims! We prepared a small hotfix for our latest update.
Gameplay:
Tuned flight animations and controls.
Stamina regenerates in water.
Enhanced jump animation in water and on the ground.
Increased radius for gathering up loot dropped after death.
The charged Sentinel protects all the stations from decaying even without shelter.
UI:
Favorite servers are now tagged with a star. If a character was created on a server - the server is tagged as favorite.
Added a Filter by player quantity to the server list.
Other:
Added a bDisableItemRequirements option for dedicated servers that allows removing item-level requirements.
Added a SentinelRadiusMultiplier option that adjusts the area of effect for Sentinels.

Update #4: Public Servers
PUBLIC SERVERS
Public server doors have finally opened! Meet up, unite in groups, build empires, and conquer the world of Arcana together with other players. Play on official servers or create your own!
Added a list of public servers.
Added 2 modes to choose from: Campaign and Cataclysm (beta).
Added PVE and PVP servers.
Optimized servers to support dozens of players online.
CATACLYSM (BETA)
We invite the experienced players to participate in the Beta-test of our new Cataclysm mode! Now there is no need to switch to a separate Steam branch. We talked about this mode in detail in the previous update. As we continue to listen to your feedback and develop this mode, periodic wipes and minor bugs may occur.
PVP AND COMBAT REWORK
The combat system has been completely updated and has become more dynamic. We’ve made an attempt at making PvP battles more balanced and fair. In the future, we will continue to improve these aspects of the game. For example, now players cannot attack each other in important locations and are protected for some time after respawning. We’ve also added a building that allows you to fully protect your homes from other players. In case you don't enjoy PvP, there are also PvE servers available.
SERVER SETTINGS
We have expanded the number of options available for dedicated server owners.
Added RCON compatibility.
Updated server starting method.
Updated GitHub instructions.
BALANCE ALLEVIATION
We continue to improve game balance based on player feedback.
Resources: basic resources respawn time has been reduced (stones, branches, wood, fiber, and apple trees).
Carry weight: increased the base carry capacity value.
Halved the cost of T3 equipment crafting and ore smelting.
OTHER CHANGES
This update includes all the changes from the beta version that we discussed in this announcement.
Gameplay
Adjusted the Loader ability to increase the max carry capacity by around 10%, instead of 10 units.
Added a new passive ability - High Metabolism, which reduces cooldown for cooked food consumption and the sated effect by 25%.
Made Hornhead and Bonehead masks into vanity items, worn on top of the actual headgear.
Added a temporary invincibility effect, that occurs after respawning.
Adjusted the Sentinel to be automatically activated upon being constructed. Sentinels are now limited to one per player.
Most of the equipment now has a level requirement.
Campaign
Added an ability to construct a Sentinel.
The statuette, required for activating the flight ability, can now be found in the cave of the first Broken Valley island.
Cataclysm
Reduced the cost of entry into the Frozen Desert to 5 astral essenece.
Adjusted Empath stock to sell T1 recipes in the starting location.
Introduced new vendors to the Orders’ strongholds.
Adjusted stock for all vendors.
The leading Order will now be marked by a beam of light above its chalice.
Added heating chalices to the Orders’ towers.
Magic seeds can now drop from boars.
Mystic cubes now drop furniture recipes instead of coins.
Added nature essence as the reward for slaying elementals in the Frozen Desert.
Adjusted the vendor stall crafting cost to require additional resources.
Alter is now available for construction much earlier.

NEW GAMEMODE: CATACLYSM
The long-awaited "Survival" mode has entered the open beta stage under the name "Cataclysm" and is now available to everyone! We have temporarily closed access to the Campaign mode during this time.
To participate in the beta, you will need to take a few simple steps:
Right-click on the game in your Steam library.
Select "Properties" and go to the Beta tab.
In the list, select "beta - Upcoming version (unstable)".
The game's name will change to Frozen Flame [beta] and a new version will begin downloading.
Embark on an adventure in a vast open world with an Archipelago of islands in an endless ocean. Search for resources, build, explore new territories, and fight for your life.
Join one of three Orders and venture together into the Frozen Desert - the abode of the Dragon that unleashes the Cataclysm - and other dangers, such as elementals and ice zombies. And remember - the greater the danger, the more valuable the reward!
The "Cataclysm" mode is recommended for experienced players only. Unite, explore the world, and restore Arcana!

Frozen Desert - a high-level location with harsh weather conditions, deadly enemies and bosses.

CLAIMING THE TERRITORY
Once you place any construction module, he surrounding area will automatically become unavailable for construction for other players. It is now easier to aim at enemies, especially at Nibblers!
Resources from ore nodes no longer get stuck in walls.
Now, dropped resources are always picked up from the ground.
Straw bed now functions as a respawn point.
Place a straw bed and sleep on it - now in case of death you will automatically return to this point. Your friends can also use your sleeping spot - but keep in mind: straw bed cannot have two simultaneous owners. The last person who slept on it owns the respawn point.

NPC dialogs no longer scroll when ESC is pressed.
Player character no longer falls into the bed while sleeping.
