Hello everyone! I’m thrilled to finally announce the name of my upcoming game…
Let me assure you, the word “Plus” does not mean there's a subscription service attached to it. It simply represents the incredible new features, enhancements, and content that we've been working on for the past few months and months to come.
The Team Behind the Game
This game is by far the biggest and most ambitious project I’ve ever created in my life. I want to give a huge thank you to everyone who supported me by buying the last game. It's because of your support that I have been able to bring on a team of three incredibly talented people to work on this new game. I now have a concept artist, animator, and music composer. They are the most talented people I know, and I’m so grateful to have them on board.
Get Ready for the Most Epic Soundtrack Ever
Speaking of music, I recently received a preview of the theme music, and let me tell you, I literally jumped up and down in excitement! Petteri Sainio, who scored the previous game and Fun with Ragdolls 5, is doing an absolutely incredible job on this upcoming game. You have no idea what you're in for because with the incredible work he's doing, it’s going to be a blockbuster-level musical experience!
The Fun with Ragdolls World Expands with a New Story
But that's not all! One of the biggest additions to this new game is the story mode. I’ll be expanding on the story of the Fun with Ragdolls world, following Dummy Danny and his adventures. In fact, the script for the story was originally written three years ago (in 2020) for a movie. While I consider myself a filmmaker at heart, I came to the conclusion that the story would be best adapted as a playable experience in this new game.
Fun with Ragdolls Plus and Beyond
In terms of actual game development, I’m building all the systems to be extendable, reusable, and efficient! This game is a stepping stone for future projects because it will allow me to reuse the majority of the code. The utilities namespace is huge! By creating reusable systems, I'm setting the foundation for an ecosystem that will continue to evolve and expand.
Additionally, I would like to share these systems and tools through GitHub to help other game developers using the Unity game engine to speed up their workflow. However, I want to ensure that these systems are polished and well-documented before making them publicly available. This would more than likely be post-launch since it will have been battle-tested with my own game.
A New Website and Stuff for Creators
I'm also excited to announce the launch of my new website, jadonbarnes.com. The website is a hub for all of my projects, including assets and resource for other creators. One of which is the Fun with Ragdolls Action Voice Library, which anyone can use for their own projects (or memes)!
Stay Tuned for More Exciting Updates
Thank you for your amazing support during the development of Fun with Ragdolls Plus. Be sure to bookmark jadonbarnes.com and follow me on Twitter @RagdollGuy, for updates and behind-the-scenes of the game's development. I appreciate your patience and understanding as we work tirelessly to make Fun with Ragdolls Plus the absolute best it can be.
Cheers!
Next for Fun with Ragdolls
It's been a long time. A lot has been happening in my personal life. Most notably, I'm a daddy now! So that's pretty cool. 😁
I'd like to apologize for lack of communication on my front. It's something I'd like to get much better at. I just didn't want to share anything unless it was noteworthy.
Well, I'd say this post is something noteworthy...
I'm excited to announce, after months of pre-production, careful planning, and heavy consideration, the 2nd Fun with Ragdolls game is on the way! An entirely new game is now in production!
I've been silent, but NOT oblivious to what many of you have been wanting and requesting from tweets, emails, comments, and strongly worded forum posts, lol. I've been taking notes on the major issues with the game. I want and need to address them in this second game.
I don't want to spoil anything, but I can assure you that the second game will be worthy of a new, separate game. For starters there will be:
Weapons, including melee weapons!
More vehicles! A tank included. :)
Completely different gameplay style. While it will stay true to a 3rd person view, the way of playing/controlling the character will be altered and more intuitive.
Dedicated in-game level editor that isn't combined with the character. This will open the door to more complex level design systems!
Redesign of the world of Fun with Ragdolls, including the ragdoll model themselves.
And one more thing...
I want to be completely honest, but at the same time, I don't want to give false hope. So when I say what I'm about to say, take it with a HEAVY grain of salt.
Local-multiplayer!
Yes, you heard me. You aren't the only ones that want it. As a friendly reminder, FWRTG was my first big game and it just kinda blew up. I've learned a lot since, including better programming patterns and practices. Technology has also improved since FWRTG.
I'm going to try my best to get local-multiplayer working smoothly and right. Even if it doesn't get implemented for whatever reason, I wanted to let you all know I am trying! And if it just crashes and burns, hopefully split-screen will suffice. 😉
As a friendly reminder, if I go quiet, it's not because I've given up or abandoned the game, it's because I'm working hard behind the scenes, just as I have been.
And of course, there are many other exciting big features I’m going to keep quite about for now that I KNOW you guys will love! I can’t spoil everything! Thank you all for your patience during everything. I hope you’re all as excited as I am! You can ask my wife just how stoked I am and she'll tell you, haha!
just a friendly reminder, game development is not a quick/easy process. This takes a LOT of time and effort.

The Official Trailer
Your lucky dummy buddy (Dummy Danny) has now achieved status: IRL! He’s no longer restricted to the instruction sets within silicon that compute the rasterization that misapprehends three-dimensionality while concurrently taking input for rigid body simulations!
In other words: Danny’s in real-life mode.
Dummy Danny is there for you. After all, he is your lucky dummy buddy! Show him to your friends so they can say “That’s awesome! Let’s play with him!” Show him to your family so they can say “Wow, good job I guess.”
On a serious note, this plush is really dang cool! I’m super proud of what everyone at Makeship has put together here. I did this collaboration with them because I knew they could make an incredibly high-quality plush for any lover of Fun with Ragdolls to enjoy, and that they did.
I always have it lying around, even planning to pass it to my little mini-me here soon! I’m proud of it. And when you receive yours, I know you’ll love it too!
…On second thought, the baby can get his own. The original is mine.
Get It While You Can
You can only pre-order for a limited time! After that, it will not be available. 200 plushies at minimum need to be pre-ordered! If not, they won't be made and all orders will be refunded. So get it now, and get it fast while you can!

Watch the Film
In addition to the plush, I've spent about 5 months working on a short film for you all to enjoy! Dummy Danny and his little plushy companion try to escape from Ragdoll Rickie!
2.0 Released!
I've been working on 2.0 for too freaking long. But hey, it's here now! Here are some of the noteworthy features!
World Sharing
That's right! You can upload and download worlds from within the game! Special thanks to mod.io for this to become a reality! Did I mention it's also cross-platform? No? Well, it's cross-platform! This means mobile and Steam players can upload and download worlds created from either platform!
Destructible Chain Reactions
Ever wanted to see a structure you create collapse without floating blocks getting left behind! Destructible Chain Reactions (an option available in World Settings) allows neighbouring destructible items to set each other off!
Oh! I almost forgot! You can choose whether or not destroyed items disappear over time! This is disabled by default to save performance, but if you'd like to keep the leftover destruction, you can change this setting inside World Settings.
World Settings
You can now adjust the settings of each world you create! Want to make your player's speed fast in one world and slow in another? Go for it! World Settings are saved for each world! This way, if you adjust your world's settings for a specific player experienced, it will be the same with others who download it.
Environments
You can now change the skybox of your worlds to better set the tone of your creation!
Item Properties
In 1.0 items were provided to you as "variants". Essentially that meant every item has preset settings you couldn't change. Now with 2.0, every item in the game has properties you can adjust! You can also adjust the scale of any item in the game! This addition of properties makes it great for creators!
Crouching
It's... It's crouching. What else did you expect?
Bye Bye Progression System
No more point system. It limits creativity for a game all about mindlessly throwing ragdolls around. You now get everything upfront so you can get to the fun part... Having fun with ragdolls! (I'm sorry, I had to say it.)
Optimizations & Ragdoll Performance
The game was entirely rewritten with performance and longevity in mind! This means you can add many more items & ragdolls than you could before! The AI also saw an improvement with more pleasing collisions between Attacker and Defender Ragdolls
Checkpoint Flag, Victory Flag, and Flags with Filters
You can now use flags to set goals for ragdolls of a specific color! You can also set a checkpoint Flag and victory Flag for the player, which are great for mini-games!
Advanced Stats
See more details about how many items are in your world!
Real-time Loading
While a hard ban on "loading" in general isn't possible since not everyone has a quantum computer yet, we're stuck with loading for now. That said, there are cooler ways to go about it. In this update, I figured loading screens were pretty boring, so I yeeted those things out of existence and replaced them with real-time loading! This is fancy marketing talk for watching the world load in front of you!
New Free Cam & Cinematic Camera
You can now build and explore using the new free camera, or create epic cinematic visuals using the Cinematic Camera Generator! With a single click of a button, the game will generate a new cinematic angle with automated dolly movements and focal lengths. It also attempts to ensure the player is always visible with each shot it generates!
And Much More (Really)
Can't name everything here as it would flood your screen. I don't want to exhaust your scrolling finger before you get the chance to play the game!
If you'd like to see what else is new, you can view the release notes here.
Thank you all so much for your support during this time of development, especially to my family & friends! Even if you've simply just watched a trailer and nothing more, thank you for taking the time to do so!
I really hope you all enjoy the game and have endless amounts of fun within it!
I know, I know. It's been a while since I've last posted an update. That's because I've been working since December to bring you many new features! So many in fact, that I couldn't fit everything in the video.
I've been hard at work rewriting the entire game, optimizing systems, and adding new items and mechanics! I appreciate your patience, and I hope you'll see the wait will be well worth it!
In the meantime, check out www.FunWithRagdolls.com to see updates, changelogs, and more! Content will be added to the website as the trailer reveals and the game releases.
Thank you all again for your patience. I want to make sure this thing is stable, performant, and polished to the best of my ability.

Bug Fixes & Improvements
I was watching some YouTubers play the game and I missed some really annoying bugs in the 1.4.0 release. Don't worry though, because this little update fixes those big annoyances!
Changes - Gravity adjustment strengths are stronger. - Refined the jumping mechanic. - Lowered jump height slightly.
Fixes - Mines & Black Holes now affect Cars. - Cars go through Brick Walls more easily. - Fixed misspelling of "Weak". - Cars now have a max velocity instead of surpassing the speed of light. - Gravity affects the player's jump and fall speeds more accurately. - Shoot Player Canon works properly.
