A bug that could cause players to get stuck during the tutorial in the block inventory has been fixed.
A bug, that could cause the game to crash during party play has been fixed.
Fixed an error that caused the Magnetic Cannon ability to lose HP with upgrades. Now the block increases in HP at the same rate as all other blocks.
SERVER MAINTENANCE!

SUPERMASSIVE CYBERPUNK UPDATE – new abilities, skins, player profiles, US servers and more!
Hey there, galactic captains!
We’re here with a huuuge update with lots of content and new features. Whether you’re newcomer or a regular player, this changelog will guide through the changes. For players, who returned after a longer time we’ve also included a summary of major updates since the release in January.
New Abilities
This is how one of the new abilities (Bang!) works.
Combat is about to get a lot more dynamic and tactical with 7 new abilities - one or two for each class and a one shared among classes. With each ability we wanted to open up new gameplay possibilities or compensate previous weaknesses. All new abilities are available at low class levels, so they’re available for all players.
Here's a list of new abilities:
Bang! (All Classes) - Self-destructs your ship damaging all nearby enemies for a % of their HP.
Tactical Swap (Frigate) - Swaps your position with another ship.
Super Support Shield (Cruiser) - Creates a protective shield around allied ships.
Damage Leecher (Cruiser) - A passive ability that increases the damage of the Cruiser.
Magnetic Cannon (Battleship) - Pulls in ships close to the Battleship.
Manuvering Thrusters (Destroyer) - Increases horizontal and vertical strafing accelration.
Plasma Ball (Destroyer) - Fires a destructive AOE plasma ball.
Extra: Respawn Speed Boost - All ships now get a 250 m/s speed boost for the first 20 seconds after respawn.
To make the new abilities more accessible, we’ve added + 50 AP to all classes at lvl 1 (except the Rookie ship).
Changes to existing abilities
Permanent Shield HP has been increased to 600 from 300. A new HUD element that displays shield HP has been added.
Particle Burst has been modified. The stun effect now ends two seconds after the targeted ship receives damage. The overall duration has been increased from 3 to 5 seconds at lvl 0.
Player Profiles and Hall of Fame
Each player now has access to his/her career statistics in the Player Profile. The profile is available on the game’s website. You can get to your profile in-game by clicking a button in the top right corner of the main hangar menu. Currently the profile shows all basic gameplay stats and we’re planning to include even more features in the future.
Ever wondered who’s the best GJL player? Well now you can find out with the Hall of Fame. Currently it ranks the best player for the current week, month and even of all time. In the future we’ll also use it to show the winners of weekend tournaments and event brawls.
To add more personality to each player’s profile, we’ve added profile Avatars. They will display in the player profile, lobby and match score screen. The first 20 avatar are free. We’ll be giving out more avatars for success in events or tournaments. You can set your avatar in the top right corner of the main hangar menu.
Some of the player avatars, you’ll be able to chose from.
Ship Likes
Do you love ship construction, but have a hard time progressing through combat? Well this feature is for you!
It is now possible to LIKE other players’ ship designs in the pre-match lobby for rewards (2 likes per player).
Not only do you get 50 Junk/Xp for each like received, but you also get 20 XP/Junk for giving out likes. This way more than 2000 Junk and XP is given out for ship likes per match, which is sure to boost your progression speed.
Each ship stores its likes between matches. In the future we play to add more features that build on linking such as best ship rankings, offering best designs for sale etc. Currently likes for ships will be stored for one month and then start over at the start of the next one.
New Cyberpunk Block Set
We’ve added the largest premium block set so far. The 27-piece Cyberpunk Block Set inspired by cyberpunk sci-fi classics like Tron and Blade Runner. This set allows you to build the most high-tech looking ships yet. The new set may be purchased through the ingame shop or DLC packs.
DLC Packs on Steam
It’s now possible to get premium game content at a great price with Cyberpunk DLC packs on Steam. The packs contain everything from ship blueprints through blocks to Space Credits.
These are the packs available:
Cyberpunk - Pilot Starter Pack for 4.99 $
Cyberpunk - Captain Pack for 19.99 $
Cyberpunk - Ultimate Pack for 39.99 $
Crimson Waste Rewamp
One of our maps Crimson Waste has been completely rewamped. The new map is much smaller and designed to allow immediate combat. It consists of a central square with several stations and two side routes, which allow to perform flank attacks.
Polished Game Start
We’ve also did some minor changes to improve to early game experience. These changes will affect only new player accounts!
The new started Rookie Ship ‘RS Ranger’.
We’ve increased the CPU and free hull blocks for the first 10 levels of the Rookie ship to give players more options at the start. All armor blocks are now defaultly available for all accounts without research.
A new nicer and more powerful starter ship will be added to new accounts.
We’ve added a short tutorial, on how to use the in-game store to buy ships. It activates at level 5 Rookie or when you enter the Shop for the first time.
We’ve added some extra control notifications into the construction and combat tutorial.
US Servers
We’ve added US servers to host matches. This should improve the latency for players in North America and Asia. The server to host a match will be selected automatically between our old EU servers and the new one in US.
What has changed in the previous patches?
Haven’t played GJL since the January release? Here’s a short list of major changes since the release:
Upgraded Team Deathmatch scoring system based on matchmaking ranking
Daily Quests
Ship Core Shield bound to ship H
Builder improvements
Free Addons that cost no CPU
Editing ships while waiting for matches is now possible
And that's it for this changelog. There are so many small changes, that it's possible we didn't include every single one. Let us know, what you think about the new features and how we could improve and expand upon them on the forum here: https://forum.galacticjunkleague.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1363:
See you in the arena!

Dev Diary #27 - Events
Hey there, Galactic Junkers!
My nickname is Palky and I am a new game designer in the Galactic Junk League team. I work at Pixel Federation for almost 5 years. I will be responsible for designing events in our game. As you might have noticed, we’ve already launched several smaller events (Pilot Licence weekends, Ship-building contests, Ship sales, etc.).
And a big one called Irish Madness (around St. Patrick’s Day).
Today, I wanna write about 2 new types of events, which we’re planning to create in the future and make the classic gameplay more rich and pleasant for you.
Types of events We will create two types of events in Galactic Junk League – weekend events and special events. Both of these events will be time-limited and you will always be properly informed about their starting and ending dates. Each event will be connected with a certain type of rewards for both the winners and the participants.
Weekend event – it’ll be a short-term event, but will be launched more frequently. They will always be launched on Friday and will end on Monday. Detailed information about event will be provided on the starting day.
These are some of the concepts of the weekend events we are working with:
Ship Class Event – which class will be the most successful during the event
Weapon Challenge – which weapon will be the most successful during the event
Killer of the Weekend – players with most kills during the event
Whiskey Weekend – the first whiskey in the match will be for free
Science Weekend – research and upgrade will cost less junk
There are more to come, but we will keep them secret for now. :)
Special event – it’ll be a longer lasting event, which will launched on special occasions, like Halloween, Christmas etc.. It will last for about a week or sometimes longer. We will communicate all of the necessary information about it several days prior to its launch. The big event will be rich on content, and will also include new game mechanics. As these events will be much more complicated to implement, an update of the game will be necessary, but don’t worry, it’ll be worth it.
Here are some examples of the special events we are considering:
Time limited ship building and fight – players will have a time limit to create a ship and fight with it in the arena
Tournaments – with only certain types of ships (only Rookie ships for example) or weapons (only lasers)
Halloween – will include special holiday inspired content
Christmas – will include special holiday inspired content
And more, which we’ll keep to ourselves.
If you have any ideas or feedback regarding the events in Galactic Junk League, please don’t hesitate sharing them with us on our FORUM.
We’re here with a major update with four significant features:
The Core Shield bound to ship HP
Improved Daily Quests
Free Addons for ships
Ship editing is now possible while searching for matches
New Feature - Core Shield
The ship core is now protected by a regenerating shield, whose HP % is based on the HP % of the whole ship. The shield turns off once the enemy ship’s HP drops below 50 %. Without the shield, the core still has its base HP.
If the Core Shield is damaged beyond the proportional HP of the ship, then the shield regenerates after a few seconds.
Here are the new core HP and core shield HP stats for each class: Rookie Ship (Core HP: 160/ Shield HP: 960); Frigate (180/1200); Cruiser (300/2000), Destroyer (240/1600), Battleship (375/2500)
The goal of this feature is to discourage coring of full HP ships and focus players attention on targeting a ship's vital systems first (especially for the cruiser and battleship). For smaller classes such as the Frigate or Rookie ship, this feature should also help to increase their survivability and make them less likely to get one-shoted.
Numerical balance is based on our internal testing to account for all ship levels. We will be tweaking this feature based on your feedback. Also note that this is not the only upcoming balance change/feature. We're also working on a change of Particle Burst and other stun abilities and discussing ways to improve the energy system to discourage extreme gunbeds.
Here’s an exclusive MS Paint infographic about the new feature and its UI:
Improved Daily Quests
Each day at 9:00 A.M. GMT, each player receives one randomly selected daily quest. Up to three quests can stack up on a player’s account, if he doesn’t complete them. After that he receives no new quests.
There are now 5 types of daily quests available to players
Quest types:
Play X matches; Reward = number of matches
300 Junk.
Get X points in one or several matches; Reward: Junk equal to points required.
Win X matches; Reward = number of wins
500 Junk
Play X matches with a class; Reward = number of matches
300 Class XP. The rewards for this type of quest increases based on you level with a class.
Play X matches with a weapon type (Rockets, Lasers, Missiles); Reward = number of matches
300 Junk.
On top of that each player also receives a first win of the day quest every day rewarded by 750 Junk.
Note: All previous daily quests on your accounts have been marked as completed (with rewards!) to make space for the new ones.
New Feature - Free Addons
Each ship now has 20 free addons available that do not count into the CPU limit. After that each addon costs 2 CPU.
The free addon counter is right next to the free hull block counter.
Ship editing while searching for matches
It’s now possible to edit ships, while waiting for matches with the exception of the ship you selected. The edited ship is autosaved, when a match is found.
This feature is not available, when you’re part of a party.
Other Changes
The Next Match option in the reward screen was removed for party play.
Raycasts for weapon targeting have been optimized. There should not be a visible change to gameplay.
All features from the Irish Madness event including the sale have been removed. You can look forward to future events!
That's it for this update. If you have any feedback on new features or if you notice any bugs, please let us know.
Coming up is the major feature update with new abilities, block sets, player profiles, balance features and other cool stuff!

Fixed issues with Chinese localisation.
Fixed issues with Japanese localisation.
