Galactineers

v0.9.18.6268 improvement build

Hello folks,
today we released a little new build which improves a few things suggested by the community:

- The overall colour for energy has been changed from yellow to blue.
- The colour for energy sphere items has been saturated into a greener tone.
These two changes were made to make the different transmitter lines more visually distinguishable. Gold, Energy and Energy Spheres were all in a yellow tone pretty close to each other, now they're blue, green and gold.

- The foundry UI has been extended by a new button "Take all money" which allows to clear all money slots and pick up the money directly without the pickup dialog.
- You can now disable the "Did you know?" player aid texts, which appear in the chat in a certain interval, via a new option in the settings menu.

Cheers and have fun!

v0.9.18.6254 Bugfix build

Hey guys,
today we published a little bugfix build.
It fixes some crash causes and small issues with the combat engine.
Furthermore, the API has been extended by a few new functions for mission scripting.
You can find all functions of the API documented in our wiki:

Cheers and have fun!

What lies ahead

Hello guys,
it's been since Christmas that we posted the last update to the game and you probably wondered, what's going on.
After 4,5 years of developing Galactineers we took a well-deserved month off everything to regain some energy for the finalization of our game. This is what lies ahead:

- We're currently finishing implementation of the 'Jump Portal' PVE mission, this one will be released very soon.
- In parallel, we're already developing another two PVE missions. The final game will have 12 PVE missions (there are 3 released at the moment), in which you can unlock all ship modules of all levels.

- Galactineers will participate in an IndiGala bundle in the upcoming week. We thought, a fresh wave of players could help us in the last months of finishing the game.
- There will be a community contest for PVE mission development with prize money soon. We're still into our promise to integrate the best community content in the final release of the game and you can be a big help by creating some cool PVE missions as well.
- We have some ideas for some really cool DLCs. Of course, this will not be before leaving Early Access state, but we're preparing a few things...

That's it about the current state of the game, hope you're satisfied with the progress we're doing. Any feedback appreciated.

Cheers

Merry Christmas!

Hello guys,
the Galactineers development team wishes all of you a Merry Christmas!
We'd like to thank you all for the great support and feedback in the past months and hope you'll all have a nice holiday.

As a little Christmas present, you might want to try out our Christmas tree ship:
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=824032276

It's a level 3 ship with high speed and pretty good weapons.

For all not-yet--Galactineers-owners, we have a little present as well: During the winter sale, the game is 10% off! If you want to try the Christmas tree ship or build your own, get the game now for the Christmas price.

See you all after the holidays.

Cheers
The Galactineers Dev team

Player Aids v3: In-game Wiki!

Hey guys,
this is our third update regarding player aids to help players to better get into the game. This time, we introduce a new feature:

The In-game Wiki

The in-game wiki explains the basic concepts of the game with images and text. You get all nessecary information like the controls, economy and trading basics, or information about building mode and unlocking stuff.
Last but not least, it provides links to all available tutorial videos.

You find the wiki at the left edge of the screen, over the chat button, or by pressing the F1 key.
We hope this helps many players, and have fun reading!

NPC Upgrade!

Hey guys,
with the latest update, we've put more live into the NPCs!

Devastators

With last weeks update, we introduced 1vs1 battles. You knew the Harv's and the Pirates, and maybe even found one or another Devastator:

With today's update, Devastators get their own biome, so you can find more of them to fight! Devastator biomes usually can be found at the edge of magma regions and their ships just wait for your challenge!

The Greys

Another new race has been introduced to Galactineers: The Greys. They are a peaceful merchant race:

They now spawn at jump portals, too, just like Caranum, Morgrax, and Human merchant ships already did. They're dealing with different and more rare goods. Occasionally, you can find Greys outposts in outer space as well, where you can trade further goods.
Thanks to the community member who invented the Greys race and built all their ships!

If you want to know more about all the Galactineers races and which goods they trade or what loot will be given to you when you defeat them, just have a look at our Wiki:
Galactineers Wiki: Races

Enemy spawns at jump portals

With today's update, not only merchants will spawn at jump portals anymore, but also enemies! You can then challenge them for a 1vs1, like you already did with enemies located in outer space. They also have precious loot, if you defeat them.

Have fun with more interactive NPCs! :-)

More Battles, Quick Challenges & Autumn Sale!

Hey guys,
with today's update we introduce a brand new feature to the game:

Quick Challenges

With this new function, you can now challenge any hostile NPC ship on the map for an instant 1vs1 battle. Ever wondered how to get rid of all the Pirates and Harv's in sandbox mode? Here's your chance! Just right-click them with your battleship and click "Challenge". If you can beat them, they might have something for you...

Thanks to the community members who proposed this feature to our dev team!

A new hostile race, which already appeared in the Rosinante mission, has now been introduced as a regular enemy in the sandbox world as well, so you might find some challenges there as well...

Autumn Sale

During the Steam autumn sale, Galactineers is now 10% off! Take your chance to get into the game an contribute your content to the final release of the game!

Economy Upgrade!

Hey guys,
with today's patch, the Galactineers economy gets a big upgrade. In the 'Automation Lab' building, you can now buy two additional items:

Relay Station

The relay station allows you to split a transmitter connection which transmits energy to supply a building, into three connections. That way, you can supply multiple buildings with just one powerblock and don't need to build one connection for each building anymore.

Lava Pump

The lava pump can pump lava items from a lava block under it. That way you gain the new lava collectable item, which can be processed into lava blocks in the level 1 foundry. Of course, the lava item can also be transmitted via the transmitter system! This allows you to produce lava blocks, which are required for the Pirate's research, as the lava blocks are not as common in space as other required material.

This is the next step in economy automation and we hope this will give you more opportunities to get whatever you need for your economy.

Have fun!

New PVE Missions & Tech Level 4 available!

Hello folks,
finally it's the time, our BIG CONTENT UPDATE is here!

New PVE missions

There are two new PVE missions in the game. The first one, 'Rosinante' is a two-player coop mission for Level 1 ships, but it can also be played in solo, too! Escort Rosinante, the human trade ship back to its home base after a coordinated assault on its latest mission. The 'Rosinante' mission can be found at this station:

'Lost Cargo' is a single-player mission for Level 2 ships. Cargo has been spread all over the place while pirates are attacking the central base. Bring back the cargo safely to the base and defend it from the pirates. The 'Lost Cargo' mission can be found at this station:

These two missions introduce the military part to the game, as you need battle ships to win. More PVE missions will come soon!

Technology Level 4

Level 4 and all its content is now unlocked! This means: All level 4 buildings, the big level 4 ship designer and all level 4 ship modules!

All of your savegames and servers, which are at level 3 and have the four aspectes researched already, will automatically upgrade to level 4.

There are two new level 4 ship module types: A small hangar, and a medium hangar. Hangars allow to host ships of level 1 or 2, which can then be recycled for money, researched (to get the blueprint), or to take them from the NPCs. Also, you can build big carrier ships this way.

Of course -as usual- the update also contains recent bugfixes and some additions to the API. Have you tried to script your own PVE missions yet? Now is a good time to, as the API is now very rich in functions and events and there'll be a mapping contest soon...

We wish all of you a lot of fun with these updates, we'll be back quite soon with even more PVE missions!

New trailers!

before we publish the content upgrade, we've been working on the trailer videos and the store page. #prepareThingsForRelease

There's a new fast-cut action trailer posted as the landing page video of the game's store page, which can be used if you want to post about the game in forums or social media. You'll also find the trailer on YouTube:
