Galagan's Island: Reprymian Rising

Update 38, June 9: Start Menu Adjustment

<*>Sped up how fast objects come into the title menu so the player can get to playing faster.
<*>Made it so the Visual Hindrance effect from certain bosses doesn't cover the side UI margins.

Update 37, June 3: New Background Shader Effect

<*>The game's backgrounds now have a CRT TV-style effect to them.
<*>Bug Fix: Fixed a bug where the player couldn't pan the background horizontally on Level 1.
<*>Bug Fix: Fixed a bug where empty margin would show on the background of levels 21-25 if the player panned all the way over to the left or right.

Update 36, June 3: Preparations For Next Set of 25 Levels

The next set of 25 levels and 5 bosses is coming soon. In preparation for this we've made some minor updates:
<*>Temporarily removed the item that takes the player to a mini-game from the Repair Station levels. We're working on a new set of mini-games to replace the old one with that will be coming with the next set of 25 levels.
<*>The level name box now says "Skipper's Garage" during Repair Station sequences rather than the name of the next level.
<*>The blasts from the bombs dropped by the Red enemies upon death now last longer.
<*>Enemy sprites no longer rotate when entering the playfield for the first time.

Update 35, March 28: Mac Achievements

<*>Achievements should now be working for Mac editions of the game.
<*>Unfortunately, as a part of this fix we've had to reset progress on cumulative achievements such as "Upgrade Ship Speed 100 times" or "Collect 250 Power Ups" have been reset. We apologize for the inconvenience. However, achievements that have already been unlocked have not been lost.
<*>Bug Fix: The conditions for "Destroy X number of enemies in a single play" achievements now actually require being done in a single play whereas before they were a cumulative counter across multiple plays.
<*>Bug Fix: The background music on the second boss now plays the correct track.

Update 34, February 15: Checkpoints

Changes:
<*>The game now features a checkpoint system for saving progress.
<*>Checkpoints are placed manually by the player by holding either of the bumper buttons on the gamepad or Q/E on the keyboard.
<*>You can only place 3 checkpoints per playthrough and placing a checkpoint spends a significant portion of either your movement speed or your rate of fire (depending on which button you pressed), so plan ahead with your placement.
<*>Reloading from a checkpoint sets your score back to zero and puts you at the start of the level on which you placed your checkpoint.
<*>Restarting from the first level or the Tutorial resets your checkpoints. Playing Co-Op mode does not reset them.
<*>As always, any feedback on this new feature is appreciated.

Bug Fixes:
<*>Changed how the Pause Menu is handled to avoid getting stuck on the Options menu in Co-Op mode.
<*>Fixed a bug where returning to the Title Screen from Co-Op mode could leave a player ship on-screen.

Crash Bug Fix

<*>The crash bug on the first boss that was reported earlier today has been addressed.
<*>The fixes to getting stuck on the Tutorial have been restored.
<*>Thank you to all of our player who reported these errors.

Bug Alert: Temporary patch rollback

<*>An error was found wherein the game was crashing during the first boss fight. Until this error is fixed, we are rolling back to the last stable patch.
<*>This does mean that it is now possible to get stuck during the Tutorial (what the previous patch was meant to fix). If this happens, please use the Pause Menu to disable the Tutorial and return to the Title screen.
<*>We apologize for the inconvenience. We are working at this moment to find and fix the cause of this crash bug.

Tutorial Bug Fix

Changes:
<*>Fixed a bug where colliding with an enemy with a double ship upgrade would destroy that enemy without clearing out its spot in the swarm for respawning. This was causing a situation where it was possible to get stuck in the Tutorial, unable to progress.
<*>Made it so that the game now presents a menu asking if the player wants to play the Tutorial. Selecting "No" makes the game stop asking until the player re-enables the Tutorial via the Options menu.

Tutorial Tweaking and Checkpoint System Coming

We are still working and tweaking the tutorial. Soon it will not be forced the first time you play but will just be available in the options. We also found a bug in it. During the tutorial if the player dies before flipping the double ship, the game crashes...fixing it.
Next update will also include testing of a new checkpoint system that will allow the player to save their progress in game.
We are also fixing/making adjustments to the keyboard controls...they are slightly frustrating as they were initially set up for 2 players to be able to use the keyboard at the same time...again...fixing it.
Next set of 25 levels is almost ready, mostly just waiting on the art to be complete for it.
Thanks for sticking around and Happy Gaming! :lnuke:
