We have made English the default language and enabled language selection in the experimental menu in Settings.
The quality of localizations is not upto our expected standards yet but is available for testing and feedback in non-english languages.
Thanks for playing the game and sharing feedback about your experiences. Loving the feedback we are getting and also clarifying value of next set of things to target for us!
Gamedev Beatdown 1.0 Out Now!
It is finally time. We are taking Gamedev Beatdown out of early access and releasing it into the wild.
It's been a crazy journey for our small team, improving and updating the game while continuing to survive together. We started with a small idea of expressing the frustrations and joys of being a game developer, which has evolved into a much larger game in a very evolutionary style.
The first avatar was a brawler. A fun short experience, but one that didn't work with the rest of the narrative meta and pacing of the game. To a turn-based combat system that flows much smoother and allows for a more relaxed game experience.
The game is complete for now, and everything works. We will continue to support the game as long as we keep getting solid feedback from players. To have quit our jobs to go indie and making a game to see if we can; has hardened us and made us far better developers than we were in a large corporate environment. It has deepened our relationship with games at a profound level. 10/10 will recommend doing it again. (Keep a full chest of cash stashed up when you make no money from the games, just like in Gamedev Beatdown, see it imitates real life!)
We hope to make many more awesome games in the future with a lot more community participation.
While we hope you enjoy the game and get a few laughs out of it, we wanted to leave you with some ancient images from earlier versions of the game, which, while sometimes feel embarrassing, seem to be perfect to showcase how far the game has come since it's early days!
Till the next update!

0.95.2 Patch Update
We are back with a small quality of life patch!
Changes
Animated tile for ability attacks, makes it clear and draws attention to where enemies are going to attack.
Lore book snaps to lore entries if there are any unseen entries.
Basketball mini-game improvement to controls and dragging in opposite directions.
Engine upgrades.
Minor bug fixes.
Behind the scenes we have been working towards making the combat deeper and more meaningful. We are also evaluating and prototyping what future directions the combat could go in with the narrative being a major part and how it ties into combat with different types of games that you can build over pure turn based combat for everything!
We haven't said this enough but we are so glad and thankful for the support we have had in our journey in making and updating Gamedev Beatdown!
