Hello everyone!
At the very beginning we would like to apologize for not posting any updates lately. However, just because you haven’t heard from us for a long time, doesn’t mean we put our project aside. Gaming Constructor Simulator is doing better than ever and we’re still working hard to improve all of the features you will be able to find in the final version of the game.

Right now we’re correcting all the animations and some of the mechanics. To paint the process for you in a better way, we’ll need a little bit of help from your imagination. One of the most important parts of the game is cutting vehicles, getting rid of the parts you don’t need and preparing the frame for a future simulator.

Our main concern is the details. Literally! Because we want our game to be realistic, the models are very detailed and the process of cutting them becomes complicated. Our algorithm finds all the edges of the surface which are touching the cutting tool (it can be even a couple of thousands!) and makes the necessary calculations to ensure that a given piece is nicely separated into two. Otherwise, we could be left with some unnatural holes or leftover pieces stuck in the air. As you can imagine this takes time, so we need to figure out the proper balance.

It wasn’t the easiest job for us. We had to spend a great amount of time examining parts in real-life and trying to transfer their physics to the game’s engine. It took many attempts, as well as mistakes, from which we have learned our lessons. Turns out that making working components that react naturally in a virtual environment is not as easy, as we expected. However, we believe it was worth the time and we hope you’ll feel the same way as well, once you get to play the game.

That’s all for now. It may seem like there was not much to write about, but it surely was a huge milestone for Gaming Constructor Simulator. We’ll see you in the next update!
Cheers,
