In celebration of the Resident Evil 2 release (joy!) we are launching our Big Final Content Update for GARDEN VARIETY BODY HORROR today. As in right now. This very minute!
OVERVIEW In the update we added a whole toolshed of strange new items to unlock for New Game+ that completely break or change the game in interesting ways. There's also a 3rd unlockable mode that is quite frankly, my new favorite way to play. We also fixed a bunch of bugs, balanced some things, and added some new achievements!
Spoilers below.
NEW CONTENT:
NEW GAME+ TOOLSHED – brand-spanking new unlockable game-breaking items
SURVIVOR MODE – first person survival mode, fewer items, way more enemies
New side-path added to make world traversal a little easier
Seaquarium added to Main Game progression
Rank screen now appears on game complete
BALANCE / TUNING:
New ways to unlock various weapons in all game modes
Certain AI made smarter, deadlier, and more efficient
Gardener fight made slightly more melee friendly
Additional puzzle solutions added in NG+
Placed a few more small hints
BUG FIXIN':
Fixed a bug blocking the “all fuses” achievement
Fixed a bug blocking the “all safes” achievement
Silver Chicken is now recognized by its associated puzzle
Fixed a bug that forced game completion 16,378 times in rapid succession before promptly crashing. It was a wild ride.
That being said there are still a few bugs that we are aware of:
Classic mode achievement will not unlock automatically if you have already beaten it (will fix later this week so that it double checks at the Main Menu - you will NOT need to play through Classic Mode again to unlock it)
In very rare cases, leaving the zone while the forge is running and before the chicken mold is complete can soft lock the game. We don't have an easy fix yet to this problem yet. To avoid it simply wait for it cool down before entering a new zone.
Ending has a popup saying "Prototype Gun Unlocked!" We don't know why and it's not true. Please ignore.

Hotfix upload includes fix to soft lock if you attempt to pick up the hook buried in the cemetery.

If you're reading this then the holiday update is now available from your nearest Steam LIBRARY tab. We've added some really cool new stuff and fixed a bunch of bugs with a lot of help from the community. Thank you immensely for your feedback and support cause seriously- chu guys are awesome.
PATCHNOTES
NEW GAME+ FEATURES:
- New mechanics that alter the gameplay experience from the ground up
- BITSY haunted story game cartridges to collect and play
- Seaquarium now open to visitors

TUNING:
- Hank run speed modified
- General weapon balancing
- Revolver is now easier to find
- Grenade launcher - now provides ammo on pickup (whoops)
- Restored a missing melee weapon kill sound effect
- Crawlers - clearer spawn notification, easier to shoot, now respect zone lights
- Enemy health/damage balancing
BUG FIXES:
- All achievements should now be working properly
- Crypt entrance now allows for backtracking into the world
- Other minor fixes, too many to even remember

UPDATE - 11/9/2018
1) Added new graphics modes, now you can play the game in full glorious 480p!
2) Removed a few 4th wall breaking jokes that didn't land as well as we'd hoped and instead looked like unfinished elements instead.
Patch 11/5/2018
Updated build to balance and update certain elements of the game.
1) re-balanced crawlers, patchwork giants, and mandrakes
2) auto-dequip chest flashlight when equip hand flashlight
3) tweaked endgame events for clarity
4) misc boss tuning
5) minor bug-fixes/glitches
