We have another GearStorm release with new content, features, and fixing some vehicle replication rubber-banding and snap-back issues. Many thanks to our test-pilot, Glenn Stewart for finding that one by playing on our dedicated system!
We also added some new features to the cockpit for Mechs, Foosas, and VTOLs:
Bringing the vehicle simulation portion of the game ever closer to realizing our vision of a full military-simulator overlaying an open-world.
We also changed the model for our bandit characters, getting us closer to a modular-character model that will show damage and wounds on the location they happened and eventually getting our player character personalize-able with armor in different areas and showing damage to arms, legs, torso separately.

GearStorm 1.514 Release!
Another big release for GearStorm this weekend! We have tuned the larger weapons to blow holes in the ground!
Expect more destructive weapon, digging fun as we make tuning passes on all our weapons and also remember you can change weapon damage setting yourself as admins right from inside the game.
We added a bunch of new quests including the “wrecked shuttle” quest and the “bandit” quest.
Some of the focus and menu issues with the help menu, other menu items, and the game not working until you click on it once have been fixed.
We added keybinding to the in-game menu so you can re-bind your keys in-game instantly. Also, for those wondering what keys do what by default, there is now a “default keybinding” option right on the in-game menu for your convenience!
We have implemented the weight system, energy system, made beds recharge your energy, we added “Honor” to the scoreboard so you can see someone’s alignment by hitting “tab”.
Also, a new engine version to 4.21.2 was incorporated with numerous bug fixes, crash fixes and performance enhancements.

Now we are in continuous release mode with GearStorm and we will have much more frequent, smaller releases. In this release we are fixing some vehicle “bounciness”, adding traders that trade for coin, and added the ability for the build gun to “add” back dirt and replace dug dirt! Your new version should automatically update through Steam the next time you launch.

We have mostly bug fixes in this release, we had no AI monsters spawning since the last release and we wanted that fixed right away. New content include different ambient sounds when you are in a cave or indoors, a laser sight, and adding the ability for a quest to add a map marker to the map. Also, especially if you are new, please try our “tutorial” option on the main menu and check out the tutorial we are starting to build, it is a work in progress!

This release brings us by popular demand: map markers and waypoints, a new tutorial map with a startup quest for training new players (just click “Tutorial” on the main menu), a new quest journal (still a work in progress). There was also a lot of improvements to the admin quest editor. The tech-tree/crafting system was refined to fit the game better. As always, numerous bug fixes and performance enhancements all detailed in the change log below having to do with animation and physics. Also fixed was the spawning on a new hosted map without proper loadouts.

Thank you all for your support. Welcome to this month’s new version the 1.508 release!
This is another big release with game-changing features, fixes and additions. We upgraded our Unreal engine version to 4.21, fixing many network and physics bugs particularly with vehicles. Work has continued on the mission design system for our server admins (which you all are on our corporate server) to create their own missions (accessible from the admin menu “Backspace key” and documented on the Gamepedia page). We added in-game help and hints.
There were improvements to the world graphics that make the terrain and plants look better, we added a punch attack, added damage locations and consequences to vehicles (if you shoot at a tire, the vehicle will start turning worse, shoot at the body, the vehicle loses engine power). Repair kits also now repair vehicles. Fuel was also added for vehicles. Automated turrets were added.

GearStorm Release 1.507
This is a huge release with game-changing features, fixes and additions. We have a brand new mission-design system for our server admins (which you all are on our corporate server) to create their own missions (accessible from the admin menu and documented on the Gamepedia page. Back to the game changing stuff. We have also finished the squad system (accessed by hitting escape and clicking the "social" button) added in-game voice and text chat, including proximity chat and squad chat. We added weather, snow, rain, fog. We have a drop-pod that works in you spawn in and is now really fun to fly! We have a brand new weapon configuration system that lets you attach shotguns to your shotguns or rocket launchers to your shotguns, however you like it. There are now automated turrets you can build in the game that will defend your base. Grenades and proximity mines you can throw have been added. We fixed vehicles so you can crush zombies! The flamethrower effects have also been improved. Finally we introduced a load of bug fixes and network tuning that vastly improved performance. Also, the lighting for the game was fundamentally changed, you should see much better, brighter days and darker, scarier nights.
