Update 0.11 - Two Islands, a map where the portal is out of reach!

Hi everyone,

We've added a new map for Neptune where you have to use long range towers to defend the portal!
There are 4 new enemies that will attack the portal.
If it survives the onslaught you will unlock Foundations, which allows you to build on shallow water.
Watch out for mini bosses that can only be hit by status effects!
You should build towers that can reach the portal and use Gem Stacking to increase the range of your towers.

New Content



  • New map "Two Islands".
  • 4 new enemies.
  • New research "Foundations", which unlocks wooden and stone foundations.
  • Starting with this map and going forward, some attack waves will contain a "mini boss".
  • The mini boss is a larger unit that has more health and can only be hit with status effects! So "normal" towers won't do any damage to it!

Changes



  • Allow buildings to be placed on top of workers, enemies or critters, which always get in your way!
  • Hide icons for training/retiring workers until the building is fully constructed.
  • Increase the "duration before spawning" of the 4 strongest enemies per world.
  • Remove "receive shadows" from all enemies to improve game performance.
  • Fix the green "selected" rectangle around the portal.

Update 0.10 - Tropica, our portal to Neptune

Hi everyone,

We've added a new world, Neptune, and it's first portal, Tropica. It's a beautiful island with lots of fishing spots and roving iguanas.

There are 6 new enemies that will try to destroy your portal. If you survive the attack waves you will unlock Gem Stacking.
Gem Stacking allows you to build 2 of the same basic towers on top of each other to increase it's attack range.

New Content



  • New world "Neptune".
  • New map "Tropica".
  • 6 new enemies.
  • New research "Gem Stacking".
  • Indicate resources that are out of range above drop-off buildings.
  • Update Keyboard Shortcuts window.
  • Add Iguanas that can be hunted.
  • Add fishing spots.
  • You can make shortcuts to buildings by selecting them and pressing Ctrl + number. To use the shortcut, just press the number.


Changes



  • Change number of units per wave for all maps, starting lower and ending higher.
  • Add animated water to all maps.
  • In multiplayer games, building ghosts will use the player's color.

Update 0.09 - Misc

Hi everyone,

This is a quick update that adds some features and solves a few issues.

Features Added



  • The icons on the worker toolbars now have a tooltip that describes the worker's job.
  • The following towers can now be placed on top of each other, which will demolish the existing tower and kick out it's garrison.
  • A fps (frames per second) indicator can be displayed by pressing F3.


Issues Solved



  • Workers on the edge of the map sometimes stopped responding (they tried to move to positions outside the map).

Update 0.08 - New features and bugfix

Hi everyone,

This is a quick update that adds new features and fixes a few bugs.

Features



  • Unlocked Research now shows detailed descriptions when you hover over them.
  • Resource icons now have a tool tip that indicates the type of resource, e.g. wood, stone, iron, etc.


Bugs



  • Improved the working of the sliders.
  • Tool tips sometimes stayed behind when shortcut buttons were used, e.g. "R" for opening the Research window.
  • The Cost Window sometimes stayed open when shortcut buttons were used, e.g. "P" for opening the Portal interface.

Update 0.07 - Bugfixes

Hi everyone,

This is a quick update that solves the following issues:

  • When enemies lose a status (e.g. frozen), they don't immediately regain their movement speed.
  • Clicking the Portal shortcut icon or pressing "P" will now open the Portal's user interface.
  • Lowered the difficulty of the map "Gem Quarry".

Update 0.06 - Gem Quarry, the final map on Zahar

Hi everyone,

We've added the final map for Zahar. The map will test your ability to survive with almost no wood!
Luckily we've modified the Prospector to enable it to find gem formations.
With the extra gems you must buy wood at the Portal.
If you complete the map you will gain Black Powder, which enables you to train Musketeers.

New Content



  • New map "Gem Quarry".
  • 2 new enemies.
  • New research "Black Powder".
  • A new unit, Musketeer. The musketeer can be trained in the Barracks.
  • A new tower called "House Tower" for the Musketeer.


Changes



  • The Prospector can now find gem deposits. Each deposit drops a large gem worth 5 ordinary gems.
  • Gems will now fly towards your mouse cursor after lying on the ground for a few seconds. You can still pick them up manually if you need them in a hurry.


Bugfixes


The game sometimes displayed an error message when going back to the main menu.
Instead of picking a random position, workers will now attempt to move to the nearest position around their target.

Update 0.05 - Ant Farm, the second map on Zahar

Hi everyone,

We've added another map for Zahar! The map is full of dangerous ant hills, so be careful when mining!
If you complete the map you will gain the Prospector. A prospector turns rock mounds into iron or coal deposits.

New Content


New map "Ant Farm".
2 new enemies.
New research "Prospecting".
Prospector, a new unit that searches for iron and coal in rock mounds.
The prospector can be trained in the Furnace building.

Changes



  • Combined towers now cost 10 gems.
  • Some improvements made to the tutorial map.
  • "Close" buttons added to some in-game menus.
  • When scrolling through building ghosts using the scroll wheel, the building's name is now displayed.
  • A bug that sometimes required the mine to be placed in the wrong location was fixed.
  • When training defenders, to help you decide how many to train, the towers' occupation levels are displayed.
  • The mine is now a movement obstacle.
  • Scorch marks appear where explosions take place.
  • Snow covered versions of the iron and coal deposits.
  • Make saplings and cacti disappear faster after being chopped down.
  • Cacti now give 2 wood instead of 1.

Update 0.04 - First map for world "Zahar"

Hi everyone,

We have completed work on the first map for Zahar!
Along with the new map there are several new enemies, harvestables and a new research item to obtain.
When you research "Arbalist" you will be able to train fighters with crossbows and build a new tower.

New Content



  • New map "Oasis".
  • 6 new enemies.
  • New research "Arbalist".
  • Arbalist, a new fighter that uses a crossbow.
  • New tower for arbalists.
  • New harvestables: sand strider, gazelle and desert berry bush.
  • Workers (except hunters) can now be scared by animals and will run in panic.
  • Allow placing multiple buildings by dragging the mouse.
  • Sand strider eggs can be harvested but workers will run from sand striders.
  • Keyboard assignments are now visible in game (not yet editable).

Changes



  • "Force Start" button to start the attack wave earlier.
  • On the map selection screen, indicate which maps the player already completed.
  • On the "Game Over" dialogue, show the research item unlocked and the gems obtained.
  • Improve camera movement when clicking on the mini map.
  • On the Status Effect Wiki, show which gems are combined to form a special gem.
  • Fixed walking animations of some units.
  • Fix sound playing when trees fall over.
  • Fix playback of video on Main Menu.
  • Allow multiple types of animals to be hunted per map.
  • Prevent player researching before placing a townhall.
  • Fix status effects on enemies not disappearing.
  • Enemy immunity now only applies to it's final state. This allow all statuses to interact.
  • The portal now shows a "hit" effect.

Update 0.03 - Status Effect Wiki

Hi everyone,

We made an in-game Wiki that lists all the status effects and their combinations.
Status effects like Freeze and Burn appear when a Gem Tower hits an enemy.

New Content



  • The Status Effect Wiki, which lists all the status effects.
  • A deer with emerald antlers that drops a large emerald when killed.
  • A puff of smoke appears when construction is complete.

Changes



  • Added a screen frame to the minimap. It's now easy to see where the camera is located.
  • Multiple buildings around the mouse cursor becomes see-through. This makes it easier to spot gems on the ground.
  • When an enemy is hit by a projectile it is temporarily pushed in that direction, but it snaps back to it's original position.
  • Tutorial maps will have the word TUTORIAL on it's preview image.

We are currently working on the first map of the world Zahar.
The map will contain 6 new enemies and new terrain.

Update 0.02 - Tutorial map, UI improvements

Hi everyone,

Welcome to our first Early Access update.

Although the game is intended to be hard, we've decided to make the first map a little easier. Instead of 50 enemies, only 30 will spawn per wave. Maybe everyone can now survive the snails ;-)

Although we've added a tutorial map, don't forget about our gameplay videos on the ButtonSoft YouTube channel. The videos are meant to show more advanced strategies.

New Content


  • Tutorial map. It's the first map on Terra. The map is a single player map.

Changes


  • We've added tool tips to the research window.
  • We increased the icon and font size of several UI items (e.g. building interface).
  • For Tranquil Valley, we've decreased the number of enemies per attack wave.
  • The Job Sliders were improved.
  • Resources are displayed in a larger font.

Bugfixes


Minor bugfixes were done.
