The stage 2 update for Gensokyo Night Festival was released today, however an update for Unreal Engine has caused it to become unplayable on Windows 7. We are release a beta version supported on Windows 7 immediately so please follow the instruction below to access the branch.
Right click on Gensokyo Night Festival
Click Properties.
Select the beta tab.
Enter the following password: windows7betaver
Select the Windows 7 branch and update.
*As this is a temporary fix, some bugs may occur. If you encounter any bugs please report them on the Steam bug thread and preface your report with “Windows 7 Bug”.
The stage 2 update has finally gone live! Thank you all so much for waiting, we have nothing but gratitude for your continued support for the project. We are so happy to be able to bring you this beautiful update that tea_basira has poured his heart and soul into, we are sure you'll enjoy it.
Stage 2 Update Summary
The setting is the Former Capital and there is a new ability, Flare.
There is now keyboard configuratio settings as this was an extremely popular request by users.
There will be a mini update coming early September which will adjust the boss balance and also add an Orin/Okuu combo attack.
There will be Touhou Project Chibi characters hidden around the Stage 2 map, if you find them you can send them to Hakurei Shrine. Can you find all of them?

We are taking a vote for stage 3 update chibi characters!
One of the chibi characters in stage 3 will be decided by popular vote, the charcater with the most votes will be hidden somewhere in the stage 3 map. Stage 3 is set to take place on Youkai Mountain and Heaven.
"How to vote: Please cast your vote in the comments section of this news post, 1 account 1 vote! *The character doesn't have to be from the Youkai Mountain or Heaven areas."

Gensokyo Night Festival Stage 2 Update First Look At Touhou Event!
Dear Fans,
Thank you for your continued patience with the Gensokyo Night Festival updates.
Finally, the stage 2 update is nearing completion! Part of the update contents will be playable at the Touhou Event taking place in Shanghai on July 25th. If you happen to be going to the event then make sure you give it a go!
The update itself is planned for an August release!

tea_basira is spending every waking moment on the development of the next content update.
Apparently he is considering adding more new features! (although he hasn't revealed to us what exactly that would be) Aside from that apparently he is spending a lot of time on dialogue related things in game.
We ask that you keep cheering for tea_basira as he continues day in day out to get the stage 2 update finished.
The game is currently available at a discount in the Steam Summer Sale so this is a great opportunity to get involved with the early access!

tea_basira is blasting along with the development of Gensokyo Night Festival aiming to release an update soon. He sometimes spends a stright 20 hours developing apparently.
The maps are 90 complete with just work on the Undergroung Geyser Center remaining.
Other tasks
Adding mid boss attacks.
Tweaking map areas where story events take place.

Former Capital Boss area is being fine tuned.
Former Scorching Hell/Underground Geyser Center areas are under development.
