Early access launch
We are happy to announce we are officially releasing GMB on Steam. It took us some time, nevertheless the game that was enjoyed on PC only by few is now open to anyone who dares to challenge their friends.
Quick history flashback
Those who might not know, GetMeBro! was Greenlit back in a steam Greenlight times. That is some time ago. We wanted to develop a game that is just simple and can fairly compare the skill of competitive players regardless of their gaming platform. Where a combination of creativity, fast reflexes, and gaming intuition is not affected by input paradigm (touchscreen versus controller). We launched the game on mobile platforms (R.I.P. windows phone build) and closed beta on Steam. That worked out relatively well, we have developed plenty of features that circle around competitive play. One of them are build-in tournaments that give an excellent foundation to compare your skill with others.
Early access
Fast forward to 29th of April 2020. We are welcoming everyone to come and enjoy some matches with us. We would like you to have a good time. Let us know what you want to improve or what you are missing in PC client. We want to use early access time to get few rounds of good feedback.
What is new in 26.1.0
New sections in forest map - several new sections with some new traps - Leaf pit. Tournament stats - You can now see in your profile and profile of others their tournament stats, separated from ranked matches. Also if you wonder what K/O stat means it is "Kill/Outrun" win ratio. It compares how many games you won in tournament with kill compared to outruns. Tournament arena replays - You can now browse match results in the arena phase as well as watch replays. Tournament double elimination bracket - Long awaited for KOTW tournament. We will use it once we start streaming again, so for now KOTW is still on a single-elimination bracket. Tournament round summary - You can now see each round on your phase board with the match status/outcome and earned points for the match. Tournament improved UX - We have made some messages more clear. For example, show that you might go to the next phase or that your team for 2v2 tournament is not filled. Login with Steam - We added steam login on non-steam platforms. So now if you started playing on Steam, you no longer need to add another login in order to access your GMB account on the mobile device. Other - small bits and improvements here and there.
See you in the arena!
First season of Discord League
GetMeBro! is inherently competitive game and we know that sometimes it is really hard to succeed in tournaments. Usually they are dominated by handful of good players.
We know that competing with your friends can be more fun than with strangers. Having a closed circle of competitors that you know can amplify the FUN and that is what we want.
