Gloomhaven

Hotfix v.1.0.7197.0 for PC

Hi everyone,

Here is our second hotfix to address some more of the bugs and issues you've helped us identify.
We are also still working on other upcoming updates.
This hotfix will also be available for Epic and GoG players.
Again, thank you for your help and support in improving the game; your reports help us a TON, keep 'em coming!

BUGFIXES

  • Fixed desync in Multiplayer that was caused by item restoration. Some edge cases might remain
  • Fixed desync in Multiplayer that was caused by 'any element' creation. Some edge cases might remain
  • Fixed card disappearance when hovering the mouse near the card edge
  • Fixed card description of 4th Mercenary disappearing behind the card list
  • Fixed Guildmaster tutorial where Boots were unavailable on Mouse/Keyboard input
  • Skip and Undo buttons can now be reverted to previous state in Options - Controls - Other Controls - Switch Skip/Undo buttons (ON brings to the old version)
  • Triforce: fixed bug that made Volatile Consumption top action be unusable with gamepad controls
  • Angry Face: fixed bug that using Inescapable Fate+Rising Momentum combo didn't transfer both Dooms to the new target

HOW TO REPORT BUGS

  • On another note, we trained extra staff to help us with the bug reporting, so now you're just free to share your reports anywhere, on the Steam forums, Twitter, the Bug report channel on Discord or on Facebook and they will be handled all the same :)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Some of your issues may be coming from mods not being updated for the newest version. Launching the game without mods might fix some of theses issues.

  • While we're working on new bug fixes and upcoming updates, we saw several of you asked of the opportunity to play on the last pre-update version of the game - we have uploaded it on Steam, and here is how to opt in:

    - To opt into the last pre-update version, v.28009, right-click on the game in Steam -> Properties -> BETAS and select the "v.28009" from the drop-down list.

    - Important information: switching to the open beta or this v.28009 version might corrupt the save files if you have launched the newer version before doing it.

You simply have to do a backup of the initial save file to protect your save - Save files are located in C:\Users\AppData\LocalLow\FlamingFowlStudios\Gloomhaven

If you are moving from the regular version of the game to Open Beta, simply create a copy of your GloomSaves folder and rename it to GloomSavesV28009.
Individual saves can also be copied between the Guildmaster folders if you prefer.

Hotfix v.1.0.7149.0 for PC

Hi all,

We've been closely monitoring your feedback and concerns following the latest update.

Today, we're rolling out our first hotfix to address some of these reported bugs.
Please know we're not stopping here as we are already into the development of the next hotfix and updates.
Some issues require a bit more time to be identified and fixed, hence this hotfix releasing first. Thank you for your help identifying and reporting these issues!

BUGFIXES

  • Fixed Enchantress input
  • Fixed UI issue with grey card duplicate on new cards in Level Up screen
  • Hatchet: fixed issue with Hatchet's Favorite causing desyncs in Multiplayer if EGS build was in session
  • Two Minis: fixed issue with Concentrated Rage ability causing desyncs in Multiplayer if EGS build was in session
  • Removed sounds from card lists in Mastered Abilities and in battle (Mouse/Keyboard controls)
  • Build version is now shown

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

  • Some of your issues may be coming from mods not being updated for the newest version. Launching the game without mods might fix some of theses issues.

  • Some of you let us know that you didn't like the "skip" and "undo" button being swapped for keyboard and mouse users.
We will be adding an option in the next update to switch these controls on your will.

    - Some context: This change was made to ensure a strong UX on consoles. It is intuitive to have the Cancel option on Circle (B) and the Skip option on Square (X) as that is the norm in the industry. This change was implemented onto PC to ensure a cohesive experience and similar button placement for all platforms.

  • We're actively addressing a list of known issues for our upcoming updates, and your input is incredibly valuable to us.
If you encounter any bugs, please consider sharing your reports and information with us by submitting a ticket here: https://asmodee.helpshift.com/hc/en/75-gloomhaven/contact-us/
Your help will aid us in resolving these issues as fast and efficiently as possible.

    - On another note, some of you have mentioned that the support form didn't work properly.
We checked on our side and it is usually linked to either a captcha or field not being filled out, or a report being heavier than 25Mo. If you have video that doesn't fit the first submitting form, you simply need to open a ticket with our support team without it, and then you will be able to share it with them.

It's at a wondrous 40% off until August 22. DO IT. NOW.

https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/33637/Fantasy_Tactical_RPG_Bundle/

Here is what you need to know about these games, in a few bullet points:

cause we love those

Naheulbeuk

  • Party-based
  • A light humorous tone (compared to the rest that is) and tons of wacky characters!
  • Dungeon-crawler meets exploration.
  • A faithful and successful adaptation
  • If you're into RPGs, that's your winner.
  • You technically play heroes but they're not really necessary "heroic"?! Right...

Last Spell

  • Party-based
  • If you think Gloomhaven is dark, this is darker.
  • Quite difficult, lots of combo, you'll feel proud when you beat it.
  • Roguelite die & retry
  • There is some base-building & tower defense (good description I know).
  • The OST is a banger.
  • You're playing survivors, so morality won't be burdening you.

Tainted Grail

  • You play as one character (so you got it, it's not party-based like the others).
  • Tactical card-based gameplay meets exploration.
  • If you liked Slay the Spire, you'll most likely like this one!
  • If you felt at home with Gloomhaven's dubious moral compass, this is for you.
  • Roguelite die & retry
  • Base-building aspect

Gloomhaven is coming to consoles September 18

CONSOLE WHEN?!

For 4 years now, players on PC have been enjoying the Gloomhaven experience.

Forming your band of mercenaries and coming up with smart strategies only to friendly-fire yourselves to death. It’s meeting the infamous Oozes... and it’s sacrificing innocents for not-so-good and very hypothetical loot.
It’s well-oiled turn-based tactical gameplay and exploring over 250 grim dungeons.
It’s also dying a lot, but learning from your mistakes and getting better each time. At least, we hope so for your sake.

But what if you’re a console gamer? Well…

We’re happy to announce that Gloomhaven is coming to Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft consoles (PS4/PS5 Xbox One/Series X & S/Nintendo Switch)

September 18, 2023

It’s being developed by our partners at Saber Interactive, and we’re extremely proud to be able to bring this to the players in cooperation with Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft and Valve who helped us plug everything together.

Some news about the console port and PC version!

Hi everyone!

Let me introduce myself to you all!

I'm Mike, Tech Lead at Saber, and one of the many people currently working on Gloomhaven.

I have been playing both the board game & digital version of Gloomhaven for quite a while as many others here do and it's an honor and a pleasure to be able to work on it now!

I have been working in the industry for 11 years but this game really is something else!

We are currently working on many elements around the game.
Here is a snippet of what's going on :

  • We are polishing the console versions, which will release later this year, as you already know
  • Our team is focusing on optimization for PC as well - improvements such as less loading times, less memory usage, better performance especially on low-end specs
  • Working on a reworked UI/UX for the gamepad too! Gloomhaven is quite a complex game so the gamepad adaptation can be a real challenge.
  • A lot of bug fixing, the full patch notes will of course be shared with you when we release the update, but our goal is to make the game even smoother!

We're aware we haven't communicated much as Gloomhaven requires a lot of attention and work.
It always take some time to work on someone's else code, even more when we are expanding it for cross-platform play.

We hope to deliver everything at the same time as the console release but some things might take a bit longer.

At any rate, everything should be live before the end of 2023!
We're very excited to share all of this with you.

Thank you for your patience, your support and your love for the game!

Mike

FACE YOUR EXPECTED DOOM IN THIS NEW DLC

Here it is, mercenaries!
Below you can find a quick summary of what you can expect to find in this DLC:
You will quickly discern that this DLC will be a considerably harder experience than you know of.
If you haven't already, you'll have to git gud.

  • 17 new amazingly brutal scenarios, each built to challenge Mercenaries from the campaign.
    • Every mercenary will have a specific mission they will need to complete on their own.
    • The unique mission to each mercenary will explore their specific backstory and narrative.
  • 17 new items, each usable by only one specific Mercenary.
  • Items & scenarios were reworked and rebalanced by Isaac Childres himself to fit the digital version.
    • Feedback was collected over many years by Isaac, resulting in buffs, nerfs and outright changes to many items.
  • New unique enemies and challenges.
To be able to spectate or play the Solo Scenarios: Mercenary Challenges content in multiplayer co-op, every player has to own the DLC.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • You can only gain access to the DLC missions at Level 5 in the Story Campaign.
  • When a mercenary reaches Level 5, they are able to undertake their own Solo mission.
Alternatively, you can gain access to the DLC unique rewards in the Guildmaster Mode when completing the 2nd Story mission for each mercenary.
  • You only gain access to the items if you complete the missions, these items cannot be sold or bought by other characters.
The mercenary has to attempt the missions on their own and if they are successful, they are awarded their specific Solo item. This item cannot be sold or bought by other characters, and any later mercenaries of the same class must also complete this mission to unlock it.
  • You can play these missions online in a Multiplayer game, but your co-op companions will be in spectator mode, watching you hopelessly try to survive.
  • You can also play these missions offline. Then, to import the fruit of your hard labor to any game, it will be automatic if you’re the host, and if you are not the host and join a game, the host has the option to import any Gold, XP and Item you gained in the Solo Scenarios.

Note - DLC enabled save games cannot be reverted to non-DLC games.
