Glorious Noon

The Red Update 2.0

I've added in another song into the mix: Monody by TheFatRat.

Fixed a weird bug where if you teleport on a rock sometimes it explodes without you hitting it with a sword.

Realized the game was way too hard again, so I made it a bit easier. Still gets harder after wave 3 though.

Made some texts Red so you can see them.

Added in a bit more trees and art.

Allows players to wield two boomerang swords now; let me know if it gets cumbersome though!

The Red Update: Upgrades in Fun and Style!

  • Health bar added to left hand so you know how much health you have.
  • Tweaks to the boss fight.
  • Better sound effects
  • I made the wave system a lot more easier; you do not have to track down all the ninjas after wave 3. A ninja is spawned every 25 seconds to help you finish the waves.
  • Game gets way more intense after wave 3. (Let me know how it goes).
  • You do not have to wait so long if you destroy the enemies quickly.
  • More weapons are hiding around the map.

I'm planning on adding in more music and I'll try to get to the save system.

I legit had so much fun playing and making this update. I spent about 2 hours playtesting and as a very experienced player, this update may be a little too hard after the 3rd wave.

My tip: be creative and use combinations of weapons.

Remember: The harder you hit them, the more damage you do. Also, the lightning weapon has a special grip ability.

Dungeon Beta Update: New Boss + Dungeon + Weapons!

So far in this update I have:

  • Created a new boss with his own dungeon room!
  • A system to travel in between levels (you will see that you will have to destroy some pineapples to gain access to that privilege and the dungeon.)
  • Added two new weapons: Magic Axes!
  • For the axes and the special weapons, when you press the grip button while holding it, you will trigger their own power.
  • And more! ... you will have to jump in to find out the rest ;)

THE SAVING SYSTEM IS NOT READY YET SO NO PROGRESS WILL BE SAVED SORRY
I'm going to be pretty busy for a few weeks so I will be inactive again. I will come back though, and I hope you enjoy the new update!

PS: In the future, I want to create a RecRoom-like dungeon/adventure. Still not sure about multiplayer though. Let me know if your thoughts below!

Update: Long Time, No See

Turns out the Night Arena in the last update was a mistake. It made the game way too hard for newcomers.

In this first update, I've simplified the game a bit and cut out a few parts such as the Campaign adventure, Night time arena, and the Balloons.

I will return to these features later, but I want to focus on polishing the user experiences. I fixed some glitches so I hope the game won't be too bad.

This is only the first of many updates.

Let me know what you think in the comments please.

Sorry for the inactiveness.

I've been reading all of the reviews and suggestions I've been getting, and trying to just smash and combine these things into one weird game where I'm not even sure about the direction I want to go with in it. The biggest mistake I made was thinking that adding in as many features as I could should be my main goal. I now realize that solidifying this game should be it.

I know that I haven't posted an update in about a month, which might be why the game still has a lot of glitches and feels unfinished. That's the whole point of Early Access: to help bring out the potential of this game with the community.

For now, I think that reducing the game down to its key strengths will make it much more fleshed out and playable.

I don't want to butcher this project and I really appreciate all of the support you guys have given me. I am so lucky to have such amazing people on my side.

Here's to a new year!

PS: I know it is hard for some to share their thoughts on a public platform like this because they are afraid/embarrassed of what others will think of them.
My email is jkobechang@gmail.com so if you want say hi or tell me anything, I would love to hear from you!

Quick Update On Controls

I've switched the functions of the grip button and trigger button because I've been told by playtesters that it is more intuitive.

I will add in an option to choose which one you want to use to throw, but maybe let me know if you guys prefer one over the other?

Glorious Noon Update2: Nighttime Arena + Grounded Mode!

Wow. I actually just made all of this in a day. I felt really inspired today so here we are with the new, Nighttime Arena! Check it out in all its glory here

What's new:

  • New Nighttime Arena map: I'm planning to have new game modes, weapons, and enemies here. Perhaps also the local multiplayer too.
  • Created a (crappy) portal from the world of Glorious Noon to the Nighttime Arena. The portal and its location will be improved.
  • Grounded Mode! Here, I've been experimenting with how people play my game, and it seems that they have the most fun when there's a combination of not being able to teleport and being able to teleport. Please let me know how this goes!
  • The start of a better tutorial.

This is more of a mini-update! I will add more of the suggested and promised features later.

Also, if you haven't already reviewed this game yet, I would be really helpful if you would. Every review means a lot to me and is really one of the few but vital ways for me to improve my game.

Thank you!

Glorious Noon Update: Rise of the Mage

Hello!

So far I've fixed a few bugs and added in some nice sound effects (its especially cool when its in slow motion and you teleport away -- Doppler's Effect anybody?)

What I have added in so far!

  • Doppler's effect + more music and sounds. Music is made by TheFatRat.
  • Unlockable weapons!
  • The very first mage weapon. It may be a little OP but its fun to use nevertheless.
  • Minor bug fixes.

What you can expect soon:

  • Necromancer wand -- summon your own ninja warriors to defend you!
  • Local Multiplayer mode! With the help of an X-box controller, you can fight off more enemies with your friends.
  • Locomotion options such as swinging your arms.
  • EXP and maybe a skill tree?
  • A save game function

Thank you for all those who have reviewed my game or could bear my bugs. I'm trying my hardest to fix them. If you have any suggestions or see any horrible bugs, please feel free to message me or submit a screenshot. Usually videos are the most helpful.
