Hello fellow gods of the Metalverse!
First off, we want to extend a massive THANK YOU to everyone who has joined us on this epic journey since the launch of God of Riffs: Battle for the Metalverse last week. Your support means the world to us, and we're thrilled to see so many of you wielding your guitar axes and rocking out in the Metalverse!
We've been closely monitoring your feedback and experiences, and we're aware that the tour has hit a few bumps along the road. Some of you have reported missing yellow/charge enemies on certain tracks, which can definitely put a damper on your metal crusade. We're also looking into a series of quality of life improvements to make your journey through the Metalverse smoother and even more epic.
Our team is currently working at full speed to address these issues. We're committed to fine-tuning the experience and ensuring that every track, every battle, and every riff meets the high standards of the gods of metal themselves.

Hey there metalheads, we're here to tell you that God of Riffs just got a major update, v1.1, "Battle for the Metalverse!".
Story Mode
The main feature of this update is the brand new story mode! This story mode takes you on a tour across the Metalverse, with motion animated cutscenes narrated by Bigby Wolf himself, Adam Harrington!

God of Riffs 1.0.4 Update
Hello everyone! 1.0.4 has just been released. This update adds some accessibility features and also lays groundwork for some future features.
Framework Updates
First up, the framework additions - Our audio backend has been overhauled to now support FMOD. While current gameplay is unaffected, this will allow us to support a whole bunch of new, kick-ass audio effects in the future, and especially as we work on Battle for the Metalverse!, our Story Mode.
Enemy Updates
Skulls now have attack animations! They swoop up to take a bite at you.
Accessibility Updates
Moving forward, we learned from PAX that some accessibility features were needed. From that feedback, two accessibility features have been added!
Vivid Mode
Height Adjust
Vivid Mode
This changes the colors of the enemies and your axes from Red, Blue and Yellow to Orange, Cyan, and White. This can be useful for players with most types of color blindness.
Height Adjust
At PAX, some people had their kids try and play God of Riffs. We released our game wasn't optimize for shorter players. So we've added a height adjustment option, so seated, shorter, or younger players can now dial in a comfortable height for skull-smashing! Try setting it to max while standing up to play as a giant!

Grab your axes - God of Riffs has finally come out of Early Access on Steam, and weâre ready to ROCK!
In a moment of dire need, the metal gods call out for a fearless champion to embark on a rhythmic journey into the domain of the Lord of Silence. Answer their cries and brave forth to slash skeleton armies to a metal beat and save humanity from a sad, rhythmless afterlife.
Hereâs some of the exciting features weâve added since the last Early Access update:

We've heard your feedback asking for more music, and not only are we releasing 4 new original tracks, we're proud to announce that we'll be featuring songs from:

How was everyoneâs holiday? Over at Boss Music Games, weâve been deep in the early access lab cooking up all sorts of quality of life improvements, tightened hit detection, optimisation progress, TWO new environments, and a BRAND NEW TRACK!
If you havenât dived into God Of Riffs recently, build 0.8.4.1 is the release youâve been waiting for!

WINTER'S EDGE
Travel to the mountains of Winterâs Edge. Rock out to our latest exclusive original track! Imagine feeling the cold wind blowing against your skin as you slay hell spawn to the beat of WONDERING - a brand new track! Bask in the GLORY of your victory as you ascend to the throne of the Lord of Silence where he awaits you.
THE CAVERN
Snow-capped peaks and a blistering new track not enough? WE AGREE.
If youâre not a snowy person perhaps somewhere dark and dank is more your speed. Delve deep into the Cavern and fight without fear against the mighty ophidian, Deathstroke, who defends the Lord of Silenceâs Treasure.
Over the coming months weâll be adding new tracks, polishes, and content options as we ramp up to our official 1.0 release. We have some big challenges ahead, including adding some exciting new features and nailing down an optimised build for Meta Quest. We expect this will cost us many sleepless nights (it has already), but WE WILL PREVAIL!
The last few months have been about making the game FEEL right. Weâve made huge strides - but weâd love to hear what you think.

This is a small update to fix a few bugs, and implement some long awaited backend and framework-level updates to support some upcoming major game features coming in the Upcoming 0.8.4 major patch.
Changelog:
Updated our base VR framework to OpenXR, allowing for much faster development cycles as we no longer have to juggle multiple XR rigs for each platform
A bunch of UI Tweaks and updates, such as fixes for Song Previews, and some Tweaks to button borders and Leaderboard entry text
Weapon Calibration should be far more stable
Pausing has been reworked, and now detects Input from the Standard Menu Button, System menu button, and Proximity Sensor input! (Please note: Proximity sensor support does not currently work on Vive/Index, we're working on a solution for this, and it should hopefully be in by 0.8.4)
Graphics Performance optimization across the board, allowing play on lower-end devices
Some minor Graphics tweaks in gameplay as we tune in our final look

0.8.3 Includes a bodacious amount of updates, including:
* Way more efficient collision detection * Updated Ragdoll physics * Updated Lighting and Particles * Hard and Expert difficulties for our existing 4 songs (and many more to come!) * User interface improvements (still under construction) * Updated support for LIV Mixed Reality * A Calibration room (axes mysteriously upside down? fix em here!) And dozens more under-the-hood updates to enable future features that are just around the corner...
