Patch 5.25.172 (Chain it all!)

A few previously disabled gameplay mechanics have been re-enabled, along with some brand new mechanics.
Some balance changes to Building costs and Productions have also been made.

GAMEPLAY

  • New mechanic: Entropy

    • Entropy causes resources in stockpiles to slowly decay over time, higher Entropy makes the decay faster
    • Entropy is increased by high population and number of buildings
    • Some buildings/goods reduce Entropy

  • New mechanic: Transfer capacity

    • Moving goods around now requires Transfer capacity
    • Too little Transfer capacity means goods can't get to where they're needed
    • Some buildings increase Transfer capacity

  • New mechanic: Production chains

    • Buildings can take goods they need directly from adjacent buildings
    • Goods transferred directly between adjacent buildings in this way does not use Transfer capacity

  • Stockpile building has been renamed to Horreum
  • Citadel now provides -30% Global Entropy
  • Citadel now provides -30% Global Upkeep
  • Citadel now provides 5 Transfer capacity
  • Horreum now provides 1 Transfer capacity
  • Max stockpile gained from Citadel reduced to 50 from 250
  • Max stockpile gained from Horreum reduced to 50 from 250
  • Farms now produce Vegetables
  • Farms now produce Wood
  • Certain resources now have an inherent decay over time (ex. Vegetables) independent of Entropy
  • Unwanted buildings can now be razed
  • Several new goods and resources added
  • Some new building modifiers
  • The cost of most buildings have been changed

INTERFACE

  • Building stockpiles no longer appear empty if there's active production
  • It is now possible to right-click in addition to left-click in order to "go back" to planet view after selecting a building
  • Greatly improved UI responsiveness to left- or right-clicking
  • Planetary stockpile view is now sorted alphabetically

BUGS

  • Fixed unknown modifier on Stockpile
  • Fixed certain productions not consuming their required inputs
  • Fixed recipes with optional inputs not consuming properly
  • Fixed tooltip issue with selected construction sites
  • Fixed population not growing properly


Patch 5.25.122 (QoL 1)

This patch focuses mostly on Quality of Life improvements and fixes.
Visible building icons on the planet surface didn't quite make it into this patch, but they are a priority so you can expect a patch for those very soon!

CLIENT
  • Greatly improved performance when selecting a planet
  • Improved cache usage when selecting or hovering over a building

INTERFACE
  • Building widget can now be closed by clicking anywhere outside it
  • Closing the building widget now properly re-selects the parent planet
  • Improved overall UI performance

BUGS
  • Stockpile gains are no longer stuck at -1.3[


Patch 5.25.86 (Overhaul fixed)

HOTFIX A
  • Fixed buildings and stockpiles not saving properly on the server.
    This required a wipe of all buildings and stockpiles, but your planets remain!

Patch 5.25.86:
With this patch we are finally caught up to where development should've been a year ago!
The big Overhaul update is now mostly working, and patches should go back to the regular scheduled of about one per week (Give or take)
This also checks a big item off of the Immediate Roadmap, as the Building, Production, and Resource redesign is now complete!

GAMEPLAY

  • Buildings are unlocked and working!
  • Resources and Productions are unlocked and working!
  • Recipes are unlocked and (mostly) working!
  • Adjacencies are unlocked and working!
  • Population growth is unlocked!

CLIENT

  • Improved and optimized RESOURCE-, BUILDING-, and RECIPE- table access
  • Some minor performance improvements
  • Several stutters, micro- or otherwise, have been smoothed out

INTERFACE

  • Removed some disabled elements to reduce confusion
  • Improved vote handling and interface to be more responsive
  • Edited several tooltip modules for clarity

BACKEND

  • Fixed issue where server nodes would refuse to talk to each other

BUGS

  • Fixed a crash that could occur when trying to reconnect after getting disconnected
  • Fixed a sorting issue during selection that could result in selecting objects behind the intended one
  • Tooltip handler no longer stops working if an object is hovered over before object data is fully loaded
  • Fixed excessive logfile spam that could happen under certain circumstances during long sessions

NOTES

  • Several buildings are disabled due to a RECIPE related issue
  • Several building costs are temporary due to a RECIPE related issue

Patch 5.24.972 (Buildings-ish)

GAMEPLAY

  • Buildings are temporarily disabled, see notes!

CLIENT

  • The default key for moving down has been changed from LShift to C
  • It is now possible to hold LShift while placing buildings to place multiple at a time
  • It is now possible to right-click to stop placing buildings in addition to pressing ESC
  • Improved grid outline rendering to only show when and where it's relevant

BUGS

  • Fixed an issue that could cause the interface to be affected by starlight
  • Fixed remaining issue with corrupt building hashmap indexes
  • Fixed rendering issue with terrain splats for buildings

NOTES

  • Buildings can be placed on your planet, but they will not save on the server and adjacency rules and costs are not accurate.
    Consider this patch a public test of the new grid system.

Patch 5.24.917 (Delicious bugfixes)

CLIENT

  • Greatly improved performance during selection
  • Improved asteroid belt selection for certain angles

BACKEND

  • Added additional hardening to services losing connection to other services

BUGS

  • Fixed extreme slowdown during selection on certain graphics cards
  • Fixed Undefined stars
  • Fixed missing asteroid belts and planets


Hotfix 5.24.901

SYSTEM
  • Fixed planets created in 5.24.897 not saving properly (See note)
  • Fixed planet stockpiles randomly resetting(See note)

BUGS
  • Fixed crash related to new internal data structures (Crash error 711)

NOTE:
Due to a database backend bug any planets created in version 5.24.897 are gone and can not be retrieved.
The same database bug could potentially cause stockpiles to reset.
Both issues are resolved, but you may have to recreate your planet in case it was made in the past few days and is now missing.

  • Fixed a major issue with the internal hashmaps (This was the root cause of Seed bug)
