Small Update: Golden Light Dev Branch Co-op is up to 4 players
Hey ya'll,
In the final version of the game we've limited online co-op to only 2 players for the sake of network performance. This happened a few updates ago and we've stated our intentions in the designated update announcement.
However, due to many requests and questions about this - the dev branch is once again set for up to 4 players for online Co-op. If you've wanted to play the game with more friends - you can simply switch the game's branch in the BETA settings of the game on Steam and select Goldenlightdev (no password needed). Make sure that all of your friends set Golden Light to the beta branch, and play the game in squad once again (at your own risk because of stability reasons).

1.0 is OUT
We’re happy to announce that Golden Light 1.0 is now officially out on Steam! It is time for us to finish this fun Early Access journey!
Over the past 1.5 years we have managed to polish the game, add a lot of weird stuff that people call content and even multiplayer and co-op modes! Without you, none of this would have been possible — thank you for being here during the development. And we wish that you'll join us for what's to come because there is much more ahead, we promise! But first things first.

Time-limited Bundles
We’re collaborating with ULTRAKILL and Cruelty Squad: we’ve arranged release bundles with both games, so players will be able to grab Golden Light with an extra 15% discount as part of these bundles.

Mr. Toilet in the field lets you exchange your gold for a random weapon if you're in need of additional weaponry for your Gut expeditions.

What’s Next?!
Following the week or two of full release - we'll keep an eye on all incoming feedback to see whether we need to make any rapid fixes. After that we'd like to focus on prototyping new stuff with more content for Golden Light being cooked in the background as a part of our post-release support. We have a bunch of community suggested additions that were a little bit out of our development span that we'd like to try out as post-release funsies. Keep an eye on our community hub and we're sure you'll see something new this year.

Golden Light Pre-release update
Hello everyone.
Today the main branch of the game was updated with a pre-release patch, but first let's talk about something.
What's happening right now with our neighboring Ukraine deeply affects us as a russia-based team, both in terms of mental condition and development operation. We're currently considering options to secure our well-being and continue express our artsy and bizarre vision on games, as well as bring comfort to our families, as our country progressively became a less friendly environment. In the meantime - our prayers go to the people of Ukraine.
What's new in the update:
The Gut whispers are talking directly to you. The Gut has something to say now, it'll give advices, try to trick you or simply tell you more about what's coming at you. We believe it adds to the narrative of the game and makes the world a more complete picture without depriving you from building that picture in your head.
More handcrafted rooms for various biomes.
QoL: Now you can turn off headbobbing in the game's settings
QoL: You can now see controls prompt about throwing or eating an item on your screen, in case you forget.
The Eternal Field has directional signs now that will lead you to biome entrances. This should improve navigation in the field even further.
In Love with Traps memento now additionally makes it so handtraps wait a bit more before attacking you.
Many fixes that should make the game an overall more polished experience.
Upcoming full release is a huge milestone that we're proud of achieving. It's been almost two years since we've started this journey and it was a hell of a ride. We would like to thank you for all the support you've given us, it means the world to us that such a crazy game we made was able to captivate (or haunt, hehe) you throughout the early access.
We believe that Golden Light is a unique game, and while we consider it a full, complete experience - there are many more possibilities and suggestions that we'd like to review and implement without making a sequel (although, never say never!). This is why we're planning for at least a few post-release content updates, with stuff suggested by our players and ideas we didn't have in our initial vision (including occasional fixes if something breaks again, you can count on us ;))

Uhhh, hello...
There's a hotfix you can download right now on the main branch of the game that fixes some save slots shenanigans. Everything should work stable now :) Thanks for your attention!

Badoonga Bazinga, Madooka Shquimbly. In other words, HELLO MEAT FREAKS. You're probably wondering: "What the hell did I download with the most recent update?"
Let me tell ya!
What's new:
Christmas Themed Menu. Let that festive spirit pierce your soul.
Cinema floor: Simillar to a Bar environment you can now encounter Move Theatre floor alongside a popmeat stand with exploding popmeat and other silly things.
3 New Weapons: You finally can loot that Maneater guy you've just slayed and take it's freaking head! And put it on a stick! And bash folks with it! Yes, and two other minor weapons to give our old trusty knife and axe a bit more visual variety. (And possibly mechanical variety in the future)
Polaroid camera: Is also a weapon now that you can use to temporarily paralyse enemies
Floors variety: Starting with this update we're beginning to implement "hand-crafted" rooms into each biome to give floors a little more ZING. You can now find a bunch of new rooms in Office/Factory/Cages/Cabins (as well as randomized elevator rooms) with more to come in the nearest future.
2 New Mementos: They both involve your sight, the rest is mystery.
MULTIPLE SAVE SLOTS: You're welcome. (As an important notice - multiple save slots will use a new savefile, so if you want to return your progress you need to go to your AppData/LocalLow/MrPink/Golden Light and rename glSoloSave into glSoloSave0 . That should do the trick)
Updated Tutorial: For those who'd never figure out the "status effect override" thing. (And that's our fault, we'll behave now).

Golden Light November Update!
Hello dear meaty creatures.
Golden Light Main branch was updated with several things, here's what you can expect:
New ending: This ending is available by playing through the Endless mode and completing a clear objective. (Be sure to free Val first)
Nerfed endless floors
On easier difficulties a Meat Mole will save you from your doom once per floor.
Multiple fixes for mementos released with Halloween update.
Added graphics quality settings: You can now select High, Medium and Low quality to fit the game better for your machine.
Increased visibility in Factory biome.
A MINI-GAME OF CHECKERS IS ADDED TO THE GAME. It will appear in loading segments after some playtime. [previewyoutube="n406Aq_kR-A;leftthumb"]
Now if you get lost in the Eternal Field - Snout will teleport to you after some time.
Lobotomizing an ambered memento will return you your golden amber
More story elements added both to appear on the Gut floors and in loading segments
Good ol' quality of life improvements: Say no more to pressing interaction button repeatedly to collect gold (default key "E"), just hold it down.
Multiple Online Co-op fixes. Online Co-op is also limited to 2 players once again for obvious reasons: less players - less gamebreaking desync problems and various bugs. It very well may change once again in the future.
Various minor fixes and improvements.
