Golfie 2.0.6 Patch Notes
- Fixed an issue where dying after failing a wave of the boss level could respawn you over nothing (checkpoints not resetting between waves) - Fixed an issue where the boss could eat the player while moving to a new location - Added a "Reduced Detail" graphics setting that speeds up loading times on some hardware (default: off) - Fixed an issue where it was possible to skip perk or incinerator rewards without getting the confirmation prompt
Return of the "old" Multiplayer experience!
New (old) multiplayer, who dis?
Fans who preferred Golfie multiplayer like it was before can now rejoice! We're making the new Hardcore mode the default multiplayer experience. This means 7 lives and damage from falling into the void or water, just like before!
For those who prefered the new "old" less punishing way where it was less risky to attempt galaxy brain shots (introduced in 2.0), you can always select the Normal mode in the multiplayer settings, or even cook up your very own recipe with the new addition of configuring the amount of starting lives!
Other changes
We see some unlucky users reporting getting stuck now and again, and while we've had the option to reset the balls position to the last checkpoint for quite a while, many don't know it exists - likely because it's in the pause menu. Because of this we're introducing a new helpful "Stuck?" popup that appears in the side of the screen if the game thinks the player might be stuck, bringing forward this setting.
Thank you
As always we read all feedback from you, the community, and want to thank you for voicing your concerns about the recent changes, helping us make Golfie the best experience it can be!
Much love from the tiny team at Triheart Studio!

The Golfie 2.0 Update!
Heya Golfers!
We hope you're as excited as we are about the new and improved, Golfie 2.0 - a major update that will redefine your Golfie experience. This new version focuses on getting you to the fun parts of the game faster than before. Say goodbye to those pesky energy penalties for falling into water or the void, and complete courses on par or better to earn exciting cards and perks! These changes allow you to further enjoy the best parts of the game, like attempting galaxy brain shots with crazy card combos! Knock yourselves out!
These updates and changes are a result valuable feedback from our amazing community to make the game even more enjoyable. However, we understand that some players loved the challenge of the old Golfie, so we’ve introduced a Hardcore Mode that brings back that classic, more punishing experience for those who seek it!
Key Changes in Golfie 2.0
New Default 'Normal' Mode
No more energy penalties for falling into water or the void.
Completing a level on par or better allows you to add a card to the deck.
Getting a hole-in-one or better now lets you pick a perk instead of a card.
Starting energy reduced to 3. Was previously 7.
Hardcore Mode
The original 'normal' mode is moved to 'Hardcore', unlocked by winning at least one run.
Leaderboards are now separated for normal and hardcore runs, along with endless mode separation. Endless mode can be toggled on/off in the leaderboard.
New Map Features
These can be found on the map in addition to the current Random Challenge Encounters.
Coin: Awards 10 coins on completion.
Incinerator: Allows players to remove a card from their deck on completion.
Multiplayer Adjustments
Added new DNF Timer that starts after the first player is in hole! Other players now need to finish within 60 seconds or they will fail the level! This is of course adjustable from within the multiplayer game settings.
Sellout is now excluded by default from multiplayer games for balance, but can be re-enabled by adjusting the 'excluded items' list.
Tutorial Expansion
The tutorial has been slightly expanded to include new hints about reactor heat and activating cards before shooting.
Gameplay
Tall grass now only limits X/Z velocity, making it easier to jump out.
In addition to the new gameplay changes, this update also includes numerous bug fixes, a few of the more common ones being:
Fixed an issue where tutorial will not start if the run is seeded.
Fixed 'Retained Cards' pile displaying the wrong number of cards inside.
We hope you enjoy the refreshed gameplay, and as always, we welcome your feedback on our forums or Discord!
With lots of love as always, Trihard Studio and Yogscast Games

Hello Golfiers!
We are thrilled to bring you this major update that introduces the new Cave Ruins maps, adds new cards and challenge encounters, basic shot power rework, and more!
This post outlines most of the new exciting stuff, so buckle up...
New Cave Ruins Theme
Dark, damp and mystic, these maps are a mixture of big open spaces and tight corners, riddled with ancient structures, traps, and dangerous cliffs. We are excited to add a 5th unique map type to the game, and we worked hard to make it cool and different!
Basic Power Rebalancing
As you know we work hard to make Golfie the best game it can be, and we truly value all the great feedback the community has brought. One common point of feedback is that a basic putt is frustratingly weak. Or, quoting a reviewer, "Your unmodified swing lands with the impact of an angel hair spaghetti noodle launched by the force of a baby exhaling". While we made it this way by design with the intention of making the deck building aspect of the game shine, we recognize that it doesn't sit right with many players, so we have increased the basic putting strength, which in turn also affects the overall power the ball is launched with with one or more Power Shot cards, and so on.
2 for 1 Power Shot Conversion
We want the addition of new cards to the deck to be fun, but often you would find yourself missing basic cards like Power Shot if you're only drawing cool fancy cards, and that can sometimes be a point of frustration. We are happy to introduce a new basic ability where you can swap any 2 cards in hand for a Power Shot once per turn. You can find the button right above the End Turn button!
3 New Cards
Here's some more cards to discover on your runs:
Gravity Repeater - Activate (hold) to increase the effect of gravity on the ball
Quicksave - Activate to save the balls current position, then activate again to restore it
Ramp - Place a ramp
New Challenge Encounters
These are the levels marked by a glitchy question mark, adding an additional challenge (and reward!) to the level. We are happy to introduce two more to the pool:
Clumsy - Every third card played is instead discarded
Confused - All card costs are randomized
First Checkpoint Reset on the House
Going for galaxy brain shots is in the DNA of Golfie, but sometimes the risk is simply too big if you end up in a bad spot and have to spend several shots getting back on track. There was always the ability to reset the ball to the last checkpoint, but it is pricey at -1 energy. Now, however, the first checkpoint reset each level is free, while subsequent resets still cost 1 energy!
Camera Improvements, UI Rework, and more...
Many have voiced their frustration over the camera in tight quarters (often Dungeon levels), and we have finally found a way to improve the experience a bit, by increasing the FOV when trying to zoom out through walls, giving a wider view!
We've overhauled all the UI in the game, while also reconsidering the user experience and common interactions. I think you'll find that it looks much nicer and more coherent now! We have also added a "Difficulty Heads Up" popup that tries to communicate the challenging nature of the game to new players, making sure to mention the many ways to customize the game for a more casual experience if that is desired.
The ball also stops a bit faster now so you might find that you're lucky landing right on the edge instead of rolling all the way down now. There's also a bunch of bug fixes and other minor changes.
As always, we are very excited to hear your feedback, so don't hold back and voice your thoughts on the discord server or in the Steam forums!
Much love from us at Triheart Studio, and as always thanks for being here <3
