The Golfie 1.1 update is now live!
Hey Golfers!
We are excited to announce the Golfie 1.1 update! We have been working away at making the first major update the best it can be, and we are very excited to get it in your hands. We have had a lot of great feedback and reviews, and we're excited to release an update that should make the game accessible to even more players! In particular, those who prefer a more standard golfing experience will find themselves a nice addition with Classic Mode!
Multiplayer Improvements
With the 1.0 launch of Golfie we introduced multiplayer which adds a whole new dimension to the game. We have made some improvements to the multiplayer experience, designed to allow players to play Golfie the way the want with their friends. We have added game mode pre-sets:
New game mode presets
Normal - Golfie as you know it, but with more players. Draft - The full starting deck is drafted. Chaos - Settings are optimized for maximum chaos. Classic - A more traditional golfing experience, similar to other golf games.
We have also added expanded game mode settings allowing you to further tailor your multiplayer experience exactly how you want it.
You will now be able to customize:
Starting cards and perks
How many cards are drafted at the beginning of the game
If options from drafts and crystals are unique per player
Whether abilities (like explosions from Impact Grenade, etc) affect other players
We have also added a host of new content, so you can now enjoy a larger variety of new courses, allowing for even more replayability!
We're also introducing multiple new cards and perks:
New Cards
Magnetize - Activate to become strongly magnetic a brief period. Long Tee - Spawn a long tee and shoot from a raised position. Coin Trap - Place a fake coin that explodes when picked up (multiplayer only). Flag Trap - Place a fake flag that damages the first ball to come close enough (multiplayer only)
New Perks
Lobster - Permanently add some height to shots. Generator - Add a temporary Power Shot card to the hand each round. Booster Pack - Add 3 random cards to the Refined Blue Crystal Shard - Pick a rare card and add it to the deck.
Bug fixes and Quality of life improvements
As always we've been hard at work improving the game experience in general, in part thanks to the feedback of our awesome community! We have made a graphical overhaul of several modules with new props and set dressing, added new animations for showing what you get from eg. random card glitches or Booster Packs, and as always squashed a bunch of bugs!
