Update 2 - A New Challenge

Sandra and Jacob here with some news hot off the course: It’s time for a new update - A New Challenge!
We’ve loved seeing all the creative ways you’ve approached the game since it launched. Seeing such spectacular shots shared via our Discord and social has brought huge smiles to our faces – and we can’t wait to see what you do with this new update. IMPORTANT: Before we get into the details, though: this update changes a few things behind the scenes which will make it incompatible with mid-run saves from previous versions. So please make sure you finish your current run before you update, otherwise you will lose it. Don’t worry: everything else you’ve unlocked – cards, perks and cosmetics – along with your leaderboards will remain. So please make sure you are between runs before you update. If the game has already updated for you, you can change to the beta branch on Steam, where we've left the old build until you finish
But what an update – we’re thrilled to introduce some new cards, perks and cosmetics, along with a brand new ‘Challenge’ Mode, which creates custom runs featuring brand new modifiers.
Thought you were getting good at the game? Well how about we change some of the rules? Head on over to the Challenge menu where you’ll find some brand new ways to play. The first Challenge is called ‘Bring The Heat’. Can you complete 18 holes when every card costs an additional Heat? It’s going to be tough – but, of course, there may be some cards or perks which will make life easier… The second challenge is called ‘Bounce Ballad’ and… well, you’ll need to complete the first in order to find out more.
Every week, we will unlock two new challenges, so make sure to check back each week for new and fun ways to play the game! Unlike Daily Challenges, you can compete in these as much as you like – and every Challenge has a separate leaderboard, giving you even more opportunity to show off your prowess.
In addition to the new challenge mode, we’re also unveiling: New Card: Mimic - Select a card to create a temporary copy to your hand. New Card: Investor - Pay 5 coins and pick a card from the draw pile. New Perk: Reactor Core - Increase Reactor heat capacity by 1. New Perk: Regenerative Membrane - Reduce max energy by 3 (to a minimum of 1), but recharge 1 energy when entering a new level.
We’ve of course also squashed a bunch of bugs and tidied up some things here and there! Like last update we’ve also wiped the global leaderboard, so get back in the ring if you want a place at the top! Additionally, Daily Challenges may now be played up to a week back, but no more!

Update 1 - Fresh Supplies

Sandra and Jacob here with some hot-off-the-course news: we’ve just pushed our first major update live - ‘Fresh Supplies’.
Thank you all so much for your support and enthusiasm during Golfie’s first month. We’ve been grinning from ear to ear reading your comments, thoughts and suggestions – and we’ve loved seeing people create card and perk synergies we’d never even considered. But now, as the name suggests, it’s time for some new things to play with, so we’re thrilled to be able to introduce a host of new cards and perks for you to have fun with.
New Perks:
Copy Machine - Upon pickup choose a card from your deck, then add another copy to your deck
Glass Cannon - Reduce energy and max energy to 2, but increase Reactor capacity and draw amount by 2 (unique)
Firewall - Prevent next energy loss
Medical Nanobots – The ball is heavier, but recharges 1 energy after each level
New Cards:
Fabricate – Discard two cards to add a temporary version of any card to your hand
Boost Pad – Place a boost pad that drastically speeds up the ball in the chosen direction
Energy Surge - Destroy all breakable objects within a certain distance
Small Cache - Retain a card for next round
Dive Bomb - Activate to cancel the balls current velocity and dive downwards until hitting the ground, resulting in a shockwave
Plus, there’s an extra special, and much requested, item now available in the shop: Incinerator – Burn (remove) a card from your deck. Found in every shop, but increases in price after every purchase.
These cards and perks will be added to the pool as you level up – though if you’ve already hit the required threshold, you’ll find them available right now. Go check out your Collection (renamed from ‘Memory Bank’) to see more.
Along with this new content, we’ve adjusted some niggles and bugs behind the scenes, and continue to improve on the course generation and have updated controller support to make it a little easier to play if mouse and keyboard isn’t your preferred method.

Hi Golfiers!
Jacob and Sandra here from Triheart Studios. Thank you so much to everyone who has downloaded and tried Golfie since we launched into Early Access last week. It’s been such a thrill seeing the reaction of players across the world as they experience the unique deckbuilding, roguelike minigolf gameplay. We are incredibly grateful to those of you who have decided to take this journey with us as we refine the game in line with your input and feedback. We are committed to doing you proud.
Of course, an Early Access release is just the start. We’ve read every single one of your comments and are committed to making this the best game it can possibly be! There will be a few updates over the next couple of weeks which will fix some immediate issues, and we’ll be tweaking other bits here and there to ensure everything reacts as you would expect. We will also be enacting the ban hammer on anyone who is cheating their way to the top of the leaderboard!
Then we'll start to add content and features as outlined in the roadmap. We're looking forward to giving you even more crazy card combinations with which to pull off some incredible shots.
If you're not there already we’d love to see you over on our Discord server, where you can chat with us and other players to give us your feedback and suggestions or even just show off your galaxy brain shots.
