Rocket Engine Drop Chance added to MechaScorpions and Steel T-Rexes!ːcrystalgoliathːːcrystalgoliathːːcrystalgoliathː
Was envious for all those Gromovs who could build Crystal Goliaths that easily? Killing hundreds of enemies in Robotton and can’t find even tiniest Rocket Engine? We’ve got it fixed! All for you!
Well, the problem was - sometimes Robotton was generated without some type of monsters, which sucks, so we added drop chance to some other monsters. So it became more realistic to build Crystal Goliaths for everybody rather than some.
Please UPDATE! And deeply sorry for inconvenience.
You know, EVERYBODY (ESPECIALLY WE) MAKES MISTAKES AND YOU MAKE GIANTS! ːwoodengoliathː
Fixes and improvements 05/15/2016
Some hot fixes and improvements are here! (Yet we are still keep working on some others)
Here is the list of some significant ones:
- “Deconstruct your Goliath” function Want to free your Goliath slot but all your garages are already full? No need to cruelly burn down to ashes spare Wooden Goliaths no more. Now you can deconstruct them! (not only the Wooden ones, of course, any of them). Check your Goliath Construct building – there will be new tab waiting for you.
- Hold button to keep cutting the trees Now you can put something heavy on the button and enjoy some [insert your leisure activity here], while Gromov cut all the trees for you!
- The sounds are back! We are happy to reunite with our sounds (yes, we’ve got them lost in the last build due to the very nasty bug, we are terribly sorry). Now it’s even more fun to use your weapons, monsters become even more vocal. Hear them ROARRR!
- Interact problem (controllers/keyboard) We fixed the problem with interaction with objects (the one, where you pressed button to interact over and over again to make it happen - it was caused by the priority going to the movement which stopped the initiated action). Anyway, now you can chop trees, open chests and talk to NPCs almost on the run!
- Collecting loot improved (speed increased) Did you know that you can hold interact button to collect the loot lying around instead of collecting each log separately? You probably didn’t, because all the loot was floating to you too slow causing you to punch the button over and over again. No more! And forget about logs awkwardly chasing you while floating in the air after you running away from them.
- Changed “forest” biome battle music We got tired of the last one, and the new one is pretty cool.
- Fixed transition between exploration and battle music. Not tracks doesn’t that awkwardly.
- Summer trees on “winter” biome – no more. We don’t even know they were there, but they apologize.
- Russian texts – we read them all once again and fixed some mistake. We laughed a lot – partially on our mistake, but mostly on our hilarious texts.
---------
Thank you a lot guys for sending us reports, bugs, suggestions and opinions. We read all of these and we take action. During the next week we are planning to prepare next big update, where will be more stuff – more fixed bugs, more improvements. Hope our current imperfections are not preventing you from plying and enjoying our game. If they do – please stay tuned. We thank you for your understanding and constantly working on things you send us.
Choppy Framerate workaround for Laptops / NVIDIA Cards
If you’re running Goliath on a laptop computer that has both a dedicated nVidia video chip such as a nVidia 960m and an Intel integrated graphics chip, and the game is not running fast, the video card drivers may be running the game on the integrated graphics chip instead of the much faster dedicated one. To resolve this, you will need to tell the graphics drivers to run the game on the dedicated chip.
For laptops running nVidia:
1. Right click on the Windows desktop and select nVidia Control Panel.
2. Once it starts up, select the Manage 3D settings option on the left side.
3. If it is not already selected, click on the Program Settings tab in the right pane.
4. In the dropdown program list, select “goliath.exe”.
5. Under the dropdown for number 2, select “High-performance NVIDIA processor”.
6. Once this option is selected, click the Apply box.
7. Once the Apply button disappears, close the window and try running the game again.
Bug Fixes in the Works
Thanks to everyone who has played Goliath so far! We appreciate all the feedback you've given us, both positive and negative. We are working hard to address all the issues you've raised.
Goliath is a passion project for us, and we are passionate about making it the best game it can be. Some issues slipped by us because we're a small team. Some, like key bindings, we just didn't think of. But we want you to love the game as much as we do, so we will continue to make improvements until Goliath is the best game it possibly can be.
If you've left us a negative review, we hope you'll consider revisiting the game after we've made improvements. We're listening to the feedback you're giving us, and we hope our tweaks will change your mind about our game.
Thanks again to all our players!

Announcing the writer of Goliath!
Happy Friday, everyone. We're thrilled to finally announce that the scriptwriter for Goliath: award-winning comic book creator Zander Cannon! Zander is a two-time Eisner Award winner and has also earned a boatload of other accolades over his career. His latest comic is "Kaijumax," a story about a supermax prison facility for giant monsters. After reading it, we knew he was the perfect writer to help flesh out Goliath's story and dialogue!
Comic Book Resources published an exclusive interview with Zander about the project, which you can read right here!
Hey there, Goliath fans! Thanks for all your support of the game so far. We're overwhelmed by the response are very thankful for all of your feedback and questions. We thought we would take some time from our development schedule to answer some of the more frequently asked questions. We plan to make regular announcements like this every Friday through the release of the game.
In these posts, we will attempt to answer as many of your questions as we can. While we would like to answer every single one, please don't take it personally if we don't answer yours. It doesn't mean it isn't a good question, it just means we may have missed it or may not have a good answer for you just yet.
First, let’s talk about how you can help us as we approach the home stretch of development! One of the easiest ways to support the success of Goliath is to select the Follow button on our RA III Steam page and subscribe to our mailing list on goliath-game.com.
With that, on to the questions!
>When is the launch date?
May 12. 2016! We’re excited (and nervous!) that it is coming up so soon!
>What engine are you using?
Unity 5.
>Will there be Steam trading cards and/or achievements?
Yes! We love Steam trading cards and achievements too.
>Is the focus single-player or multiplayer?
The focus is single-player. There will definitely be a multiplayer mode in which players can work cooperatively through the campaign mode, but that is actually going to be added to the game shortly after launch. The reason for this is that Goliath is primarily a single-player game, and we want to devote as many resources to getting the core game as good as it can be for launch. But the basis of multiplayer is already in place, and we will be adding it in as quickly as we can without sacrificing quality.
>Is the focus on RPG elements or are there survival elements like hunger?
Goliath is more of an action RPG than a survival game. Early versions of the game were closer to a traditional survival game, but as we developed the game and heard early feedback, it grew into the game it is today. We enjoy the resource gathering and crafting of survival games, but did not want to force the player to stop fighting giant monsters because their character was hungry!
That’s it for now. Thanks so much for your questions and your support! We are truly thankful for everyone who has joined the Goliath community, and we’re excited to share more about the game with you soon!
