Good Company

Public Test Delay

Hi Everyone,

After much thought, we have decided to delay the Good Company public test. We feel the build needs a little more time for us to iron out the kinks and squash a few more bugs! We do not have new dates to share with you today but stay tuned as we will be updating you very shortly when we are more confident.

While this does mean that those who have signed up already will need to wait a little while longer to get their hands on a build, we will be keeping the sign-up page open to give anyone yet to jump in a chance to be part of the test when it does go live.

Thanks for your ongoing excitement. We won't keep you waiting long!

Attention, Public Test Approaching!

Dear Steam Community,

You are awesome and we are excited... so many people have wishlisted Good Company on Steam already! And if you are reading this, there’s a fair chance you are one of them. (If not, just sneak your mouse to the wishlist button right now. We won’t tell anyone.)

You all have shown us passionate patience and incredible support, so it’s a real pleasure for us to finally move on to an important step, together with you. In other words..

It’s happening!

Soon, we’ll open the doors for the Public Test. The perfect opportunity for you to get your hands dirty and your high-tech empire going, while you probe into the very first public alpha version of Good Company, your favourite Corporate Machinery Simulator.

Even though we have to close the test doors at some point, rest assured there are plenty of open spots for participation. Don’t miss your chance to become robot pioneers before everyone else does in Early Access!

Registration Open: 29th July 2019 - 18th August 2019
Test Period: 26th August 2019 - 9th September 2019

If you have been following the development of Good Company, you know we already have lots of features and audio-visual pleasures in place. Nevertheless, you might be curious about what we have added and improved recently.

Lo and behold, the totally overhauled Market Interface. Even the best factory setup doesn’t bring in the bucks by itself. Know how your precious products perform, what your competitors are trying to set against you, and when specific events occur that might shake up the markets – and thus your profits.

Even though we make leading your Good Company as intuitive as possible, without some guidance it might be hard to master. That’s why you’re gonna love your Good Companion. Humble yet very helpful, it’s at your side, covering all features at your disposal without drowning you in unnecessary details.

The world of Good Company is constantly flourishing. Our concept artist Johanna is the one who places many creative seeds which are then grown into new and beautiful 2D and 3D assets. Her recent task was to design another workplace for your future workforce to use – the Chemistry Table.

So, we hope this update brought you up to speed and sparked even more anticipation for the Good Things happening soon. Be sure to get in touch with us if there’s anything we can help you with. And don’t be shy: spread the word to the edge of the world. Everyone is welcome in the Good Company family – the more, the merrier!

In the meantime, take care & all the best,

Your Chasing Carrots

Good Company - More Width & Depth!

Dear Steam Community,

First off, we would like to thank all of you for wishlisting Good Company! Your interest in our game and your fantastic feedback so far is absolutely mindblowing.

It’s been a while since we shared an update on the state of development here. So, for those of you who haven’t subscribed to our newsletter (which you really shouldn’t miss), here comes an overview of the most important features we’ve been working on during the past months.

Research

The research system in Good Company will let you unlock various technologies you need in order to upgrade workplaces and machines, which in turn let you build increasingly complex products. Research has its costs of course. You will have to convert materials or modules into science points first before you can unlock new areas.

Markets

The most straightforward approach to making money will be selling your products on the market. Be careful not to flood the market with whatever your production puts out! There are demands that ought to be carefully met. And the markets being dynamic result in a constant need to adapt your products to ever-changing circumstances.

Logistics

Managing your employees is one of Good Company’s main features. Assigning them various tasks and establishing production flows between workplaces and storages is going to be a challenging goal the bigger your company gets. That’s why we have invested extra efforts into refining the logistics system so that it provides as much transparency and accessibility as possible.

Facilities

In good old startup fashion, a garage is the place where your enterprise starts. But sooner rather than later you’ll want to expand. Well, now you can! Good Company features areas with bigger buildings for you to purchase. The longer you play, the more plots will become available for you to include into your company and connect for combined production processes.

Moaaaar features...

We are constantly improving Good Company on many levels, be it balancing, bugfixing, asset creation and the likes. We’ve added a nice title screen with many lovely details. And, as you can see, we’re already working on challenges. These will not only offer you a range of entertaining circumstances to test your skills in, you will even be able to script your own challenges using LUA.

...and Music

We have shared a lot of visual impressions of Good Company so far – maybe it’s time to share some music, too. Here are three pieces from the soundtrack, which features 16 songs with almost 90 minutes of total playtime at the moment – and we will be adding even more.

Outlook

So that’s it for the time being. Of course we’ve been working on lots of other things, and we’re pretty excited to share more details in the future. We have started more extensive internal playtesting to evaluate which elements still need some more attention until we feel good about sharing the game for alpha testing.

We can imagine you are more than curious to get your hands on the game, and we are confident that some more additional effort on our side will make the first public exposure a truly worthwhile experience.

Don’t hesitate to get in touch with us if there’s anything we can help you with, be it questions, ideas or feedback. We’d love to hear from you!

In the meantime, all the best from us.

Gameplay Elements in Full Bloom

Hello fellow CEOs,

Today we’d like to boost your spring fever by bringing you up to speed as to what we have been working on recently.

Good Company is in full bloom, we’ve added lots of nice features relating to visual assets and UI elements. New workplaces, environmental decoration and a new title screen, to mention only a few. Our audio design is also making good progress, with the soundtrack offering almost 20 tracks, and counting.

The biggest efforts go into the gameplay, however.

We have implemented the research system, which lets you sample components and yields science points. These science points can then be invested in unlocking various technological routes. At first, you start small and focus on the basics. Then, step-by-step, the research opens up more possibilities for fancy product designs, which will be a lot of fun in Good Company.

Speaking of which, in order to give more depth to what you can produce, we’ve defined a simple set of basic materials you have to buy. Anything else can be built out of these materials, so you don’t have to rely so much on external suppliers. From crafting screws or plastic cases leading to far more complex things, everything’s up to you and your company.

We have also refined the market in Good Company, giving you more control of analyzing its dynamics. Our new visualization system gives you a great overview of how the amounts, pricing and sale frequency correlate and influence market demand, so you can optimize your financial flow.

Furthermore, we have introduced new means of visual accessibility to the game, that makes item routes and employee assignments in production processes a lot easier to understand. Other than that, we are constantly streamlining our front- and backend, optimizing the balance of the game and busting bugs wherever possible, in order to make Good Company a stable and fun game to play.

That said, we’re still somewhat away from a version we can happily share with you for alpha testing. We want to give you the best possible experience, even in this early stage, and some things need to be improved for this. If you like to stay closely follow the development of Good Company, we invite you to join our Discord server or tune in to our dev streams on Twitch.

You can find all the ways to stay in touch with us here.

Feel free to drop us a line whenever you have questions, comments or suggestions.

All the best, your Chasing Carrots

Good News for Good Company!

Hello future CEOs,

We are super excited! Good Company is more and more coming to life, which means: soon you will have the chance to play our corporate machinery simulator without having to queue up at our booths :)

Today we want to share with you some details on what we have been working on recently – and what will be coming next, of course.

After running internal playtests, gathering player feedback while showcasing Good Company, and analyzing streams of a few influencers, we’ve decided to go for a more direct approach regarding employee management. We want to give players more control over production processes. Instead of taking on contracts with specific demands, you can now continuously design and assemble products of your choice and sell them on the general market for the highest profit. Finding a balance between product quantities and setting the right market price is the key to success.

And now to some more exciting news! We are happy to announce our partnership with The Irregular Corporation, who recently brought PC Building Simulator to a successful launch. It’s great to have such a passionate and experienced team at our side. TIC will handle the publishing of Good Company and assist us in general, so we can fully focus on the development and improvement of the game itself.

And a probably even more important partnership is coming up – with you, our community! With your support, we want to make Good Company a truly outstanding management simulation. As a start, we want to conduct an early alpha via Steam, prior to Early Access. Working closely together with our community will be essential to balance Good Company, test various features, and make the game more stable to be ready for Early Access.

The early alpha will be scheduled for late April or early May. Everyone who is eager to participate can join our Discord Server, where we are in direct and quick contact with the Good Company community.

Also, be sure to visit the Good Company Microsite, our central hub where you can subscribe to our newsletter and find more ways to follow the development.

We’re looking forward to having a great time with you!
Your Chasing Carrots

PS: We also prepared a new Trailer for you: ;)
