DARK FANTASY STRATEGY GAME ‘GORD’ LOOMS FROM THE SHADOWS FOR A SUMMER LAUNCH ON STEAM
Enter a world of primordial beings, horrifying beasts, and powerful incantations later this year.
Team17 and Covenant.dev have today announced that dark fantasy, strategy adventure game Gord will launch on Steam this summer.
Created by a team that includes former Frostpunk and The Witcher 3 developers, Gord has players take command of the Tribe of the Dawn and embrace the ethical complexity of leadership as they shepherd their community and protect them from invaders and monstrous beasts. They will need to oversee their citizens’ hunger, disease, and trauma, nurture their faith and train them for battle, while also expanding their settlements – the titular 'gords' – and embarking on a variety of life-threatening quests.

Gord is a single-player, dark fantasy strategy game inspired by Slavic folklore. In the world of Gord, you will lead the Tribe of Dawn as they strive to establish new settlements and explore eerie forbidden lands, which interacting with horrific creatures and deities.
You’ll need to complete quests to grow the tribe’s settlements (known as ‘gords’) and fortify these to protect from invaders while managing a populace whose personal stories, familial ties and mental well-being can have devastating impact on the survival of their communities.
Covenant.dev is a 24-person creative development house including alumni from prominent Polish developers CD Projekt RED (The Witcher 3), 11 bit studios (Frostpunk), and Flying Wild Hog (Shadow Warrior 2). Headed by Chief Executive Officer, Stan Just, former producer on The Witcher 3, Gord is the studio’s debut title and aims to deliver players a mature and unforgiving strategy experience.
