The big day has finally arrived and the gates of the Isle of Lye are finally open to those who dare to challenge the Gordian Society!
Here is a quick outline of how we improved the game since Gordian Rooms 1:
Instead of 4 rooms, you now have a literal island to explore and complete puzzles on. The whole game is on a completely different level of scope than the first one.
There are a lot of tasks you can complete, and these are clearly defined for you in the game. Collecting horseshoes is back and it is more useful than ever!
You can discover various stories as you explore the island, getting to know the Lye family and their associates. The total amount of story text you can read is enough for a short novella.
As you have a much larger area to explore we introduced free roaming movement, you can also zoom in, crouch and sprint to your heart’s content. We made sure you actually had to use these features to solve some puzzles!
There are several secret areas you may find, though we will not be spoiling anything.
You can sit down and relax in various different locations, to just simply take in the atmosphere and maybe contemplate.
We now have full controller support, this is great if you have difficulties with using a mouse and keyboard or you would like to play on your TV from the comfort of your couch!
You can unlock two different endings based on the number of tokens you acquire, and you may even see a little something extra if you are an avid collector.
You can even play a little football.
We made this game with our heart and soul during the past three years and really really hope that it shows. As a small thank you for those that have supported us so far, we made a bundle that gives you a small discount on the second game, if you own the first one. https://store.steampowered.com/bundle/7172/Uncles_Selection/ Thank you for your patience and support! We hope you will have a great time.
See you on the Isle of Lye! Adam and Laszlo

Demo version 1.3 and Puzzle Fest
Hello everyone!
Since our last update we have been steadily working on the game, and we are happy to announce that the development of almost every back-end system has been completed.
This means that now there is:
a working tutorial, to introduce the various mechanisms of the game; the Objectives, Inventory and Journal panels for instance
a new hint system
a redesigned save system
localization support, so you can change between languages
full controller support, now in the menus as well and an alternative control scheme for just keyboards
We have also added a couple of community suggestions, for example the ability to toggle the inspection sound or a small target reticule to make it easier to navigate whilst playing.
As we have stated a couple of months earlier, the demo uses the latest lighting technology from Unreal Engine, Lumen. The entire lighting of the rooms has been remade with the advantages and shortcomings of this system in mind. Hopefully, now you should really feel like you are trapped in here during the evening.
While this part of the development is done, we have still more tasks ahead of us. We have been working on the puzzles on the island and polishing everything to look, feel and sound as nice as we can make it!
When we are closer to completion we will be back with another post.
Thank you! Crimsonite Team
Progress Update 2
Hello everyone!
A common question we hear is: "When will the game be released?” We originally predicted that we would be able to release the game in March. We've done our best to meet that date, but recently it became clear that we wouldn't be able to finish in time.
That doesn't mean we haven't made a lot of progress! In Gordian Rooms 2, instead of being trapped in the titular rooms themselves, you will be able to explore a small island with lots of puzzles in and out of sight.
Once you have made your way to the island, you will also find a lavish mansion with several rooms, each containing different puzzles:
So hopefully it will be worth the wait! We are trying our best to finish the game as soon as possible, but with only 2 developers and only one published project behind us, we lack the experience to predict how long things will take.
What's the release date then? Q2 2023.
To be more precise would require us to make predictions again, which we have already shown we are not too good at. We will announce the exact date as soon as we know it, most likely a month prior.
We spent over two years of constant development time on the game and don’t want anything to spoil the experience, so we kindly ask for your patience.
Thank you and have a nice day! Crimsonite Team
Progress Update
Hello Everyone!
We are happy to announce that the game is steadily getting closer to completion. We have just updated the Store page for Gordian Rooms 2 and published some of the first screenshots from the Island, where the game takes place.
You can check them out below, and we have decided to share our closest estimate with regards to the possible release of the game. If all goes according to plan you will be able to play Gordian Rooms 2 sometime in the first quarter of 2023. The Store page should reflect this as well.
We haven’t forgotten about the demo version either, however we decided to release one more final update to it, which will also be released as a separate game titled “Gordian rooms 2: Prologue”, just like we did with Gordian Rooms 1.
Even if we don’t specifically react to your comments we read all of them and try our best to improve the game based on this feedback.
Have a pleasant day!
Demo version 1.2
Hello everyone!
We have just published the latest version of the demo, which brings about many changes.
First of all, we have switched the engine version from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5, mainly because the game takes place in one big island and thanks to some new lighting technologies (Lumen) it will be possible to have one single lighting setup for the complete scenario.
This means that there will be real time lighting present wherever you go. So far we have been using a baked lighting method, which had several problematic aspects, like balancing indoor and outdoor lighting and just simply baking the whole island in one go, not mentioning that making changes required everything to be rebaked from the ground up. All of this has been resolved, obviously now we have different technicalities to juggle but we have managed to find a good balance so far.
This lighting system has been implemented in the demo as well, so don’t be surprised if everything looks a little bit different, some better some a little worse.
Apart from switching engine versions we have been hard at work on the Graphical User Interface of the game:
Now there is an Objective list, which details the steps you have to take for your goals, this will make much more sense in the final product, but you can see a glimpse of it in the demo as well.
An Inventory, where you can inspect the items that you have picked up and read any type of document you may have found.
A Journal detailing every comment of the character, making it easier to read them in case you missed something.
An Options menu, with adjustable display, audio and mouse settings.
A Controls menu, where you can freely customize your keyboard or controller settings.
Last but not least, now there is also a title screen and main menu, with an intro sequence.
All that is left is to implement the character profile system, which entails saving and loading and the hint system. We also plan to add achievements and have come up with a new way to make localization more feasible.
When all these are done we will implement a tutorial that will take place during the demo sequence.
We plan to include the demo in the complete game and it will connect seamlessly to the main game. Obviously, you will be prompted to choose whether you would like to play this part of the game again or not.
Apart from these, we have been also working on the various puzzles and environments on the island, slowly but surely we are getting closer to completion. There is still a lot to do, and we would like to give you the best experience.
Thanks and have a nice day! Adam and Laszlo
Demo version 1.1
Hello everyone!
We’ve just published the new version of the demo. In Version 1.1 you need to solve a lot more puzzles to finish the game.
From this point onwards we will focus on other features. Such as a new options menu, that will let you fine tune the game.
Stay tuned for more. Crimsonite Team
