Major Update #1 Released

We just launched the first major update for Gran Vitreous which will bring new content and weapons to the game along with a few minor tweaks and fixes.

Here's everything you'll find in the update:

New Weapon Types:



2 New Main weapons:

  • Tesla Chain: A chain of electric energy. On hitting an enemy the electric damages bounces to nearby enemies.
  • Magnetron Beam: Wide beam of energy that shakes apart enemies in close range.


2 New Secondary weapons:

  • Decoy Ship: Launch a holographic clone of your ship to distract enemies and damage those that get too close.
  • Missile Platform: Deploy a short lived, fast firing homing missile launcher.


2 New Super weapons:

  • Black Hole Bomb: Pulls in surrounding enemies then detonates creating a large explosion
  • Bouncing Barrage: Launches a wave of bouncing bombs 360 degrees around the ship causing explosions across the entire zone.

New Heroic Mode:



Heroic mode allows you to keep playing and advancing beyond the games final boss. Heroic mode has 4 tiers to progress through as you find better gear. Rarer legendary items drop only in this mode which are necessary to keep progressing. All areas are set to the same level range based on the Heroic tier setting but later areas have higher legendary drop rates to reward players who fight through the tougher zone types.

New Legendary Item Rarity:



Legendary items are rarer more powerful items available in Heroic Mode. Legendary items can't be altered in the engineering station which will make it necessary to seek out better items in order to progress through the Heroic tiers.

Other Fixes/Changes:


  • Added legendary items to the shop when over level 100
  • Removed concept of sold out from the shop. The item purchased will now be rerolled
  • Added expand and contract animation to radial weapon selection
  • Lowered opacity for enemy hit reactions
  • Fixed missile spray not triggering failure of 'Don't Use Secondary' zone bonus objective
  • Fixed explosion flashes not resetting between zones
  • Replaced sound for a bouncing bomb hitting the zone wall
  • Fixed being able to change weapons while a charge shot was still firing which was allowing two sets of charged shots

Gran Vitreous Minor Patch #3

This is the third minor patch for Gran Vitreous. This patch adds some requested features and addresses issues brought up by users.

Here's what you will find in the update:


  • Added in game options such as damage number flyups and camera scale to the main menu's options
  • Added confirmation dialog box for leaving the store to prevent the player from doing so accidentally
  • Added retry option to endless mode's pause menu
  • Increased maximum amount of bullets that can exist at once
  • Adjusted leaderboard display to fix a few issues
  • Slightly lowered opacity of top left hud element to prevent it hiding a dropped item indicator
  • Fixed bug where game could crash when using the in area shop
  • Fixed offscreen indicators being not visible when using the camera scale function
  • Fixed items not reorganizing when buying an item from the trade hub
  • Fixed issue where an item purchased from the store would remain linked to the inventory
  • Fixed issue where endless mode upgrades were spawning when the player is fully upgraded
  • Fixed a few spelling errors

Gran Vitreous Minor Patch #2

This is the second minor patch for Gran Vitreous. This patch mostly contains small adjustements to UI and gameplay to address user feedback, also the endless mode has been given some difficulty adjustments and additional leaderboard features.

Here's what you will find in the update:


  • Increased size of item and credit icons as well as their offscreen indicators
  • Made the repulsor utility dissipate a gravity well if you're caught in one
  • Adjusted item drop rate down and credit drop rate up
  • Brightened up cursor when using mouse controls so that it's more visible
  • Added new design for the drifter enemy
  • Added 3,2,1 countdown to ambush zone if choosing to fight
  • Adjusted repair on hit down for phaser array as it was too powerful
  • Increased "Destroy 5 of one enemy type in a row" zone bonus to 10 in a row.
  • Retuned endless mode to be more difficult
  • Made all endless mode gear selectable
  • Added steam leaderboard display to end of endless mode with local, global, and friends leaderboards
  • Fixed small snakes issue where the last segment would occasionally become disconnected
  • Fixed mouse highlighting for in game options menu being slightly off position
  • Fixed bug where rerolling +Min Damage on Super Weapons would always end up being 0
  • Fixed issues with rerolling level 1 items
  • Fixed the third boss showing underglow lighting after being destroyed

Gran Vitreous Minor Patch #1

This is the first minor patch to address some bugs and small concerns. Additionally two previous hot fix updates came out earlier in the week which will be covered below as well.

Here's what you will find in this update:

-Made alterations to a few enemy designs to give them a little more depth
-Added lives display to area screen
-Added self illumination to space debris to make it easier to spot
-Increased the minimum space debris size
-Made ship movement halt on releasing all movement inputs
-Added the ability to use Mouse-3 for Super Weapons
-Fixed area sometimes not being marked complete
-Fixed store area bonus objective not completing immediately on finding the 2nd store
-Fixed display for amount of completed area bonus objective
-Fixed crash when hitting mark item as junk when inventory is empty
-Fixed Blitz not continuing from the correct point when using Blitz after boosting into mid-area
-Fixed item duplication bug
