Trailer creation process

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REWrEpqnsLo It is the trailer we are going to analyze today. Learn more about how we proceed to create it from scratch.
First, we created the first draft of what we want to show in the trailer. The names of the characters were not determined at this time. It only came some weeks after, and the community could vote for the names.
Then, we had to write the lyrics, because we wanted to tell a story around these visuals. We iterated many times on them, to finally have to ones you all know: I and my family are doing what we can to rise in the ranks of the Great Houses of Calderia, The marriage of Bast to the daughter of our strongest rivals will secure important lands and funds to our House. My son Bast had such a promise, but disasters struck again and again, a poet... really? Then he met Camilla and now our Houses will be united!
Then, we needed to find someone, a voice, to embody The Duke. We selected Jonathan (Jono) Oldham for his strong powerful voice. Find his work here. He did 3 different takes for the Duke's voice. We selected the one you can now hear.
To go with The Duke's voice, we needed a piece of good music that could also fit the video and its dynamic. We chose Royalty-free music since we did not have a theme at that time. The music is called 'The Crown' by Alexander Nakarada: https://www.serpentsoundstudios.com

After selecting all the above elements, we had to record qualitative in-game footage for the video.
Then, Resistance Games, the development studio of the game, made some magic, edited, and created the Announcement trailer you all know!

Have a look at our map!
Hi strategy players!
One of the most important things in strategy games is the map.
Indeed, for players to oversee their kingdom, how they progressed, and check what happens in the neighborhood, that's necessary!
The first version of the world map was this one:
As Antti, game designer, said on the Great Houses of Calderia's Discord: "This is what the map of Calderia looked like when I designed the layout of it to the artists. Surprisingly, quite little has changed from the original designs."
And yes, it hasn't changed that much! We were really confident with the overall look of the map. We especially appreciate its bright Mediterranean colors.

Our playtest session will start on May 6, 2022 (5PM CEST). New features will be available. Plus, we polished the actual content and corrected some bugs.
Great Houses of Calderia, is an upcoming Grand Strategy PC game mixing GOT and Crusader Kings. In the playtest, the player will have the tools to manage both battles and social conflicts at a strategic level in a fantasy renaissance setting.
To play the Great Houses of Calderia Beta, you will need to:

Meet the Appointed Officials
We’d like to introduce a new set of companions: the Appointed Officials.
What are companions? Companions are units used in social conflicts, much like soldiers are used in battles. They also give players a glimpse of the culture and every life of Calderia. Their appearance is based on Renaissance dress mixed with classical antiquity and a splash of fantasy elements.
These companions are the ones that are holding an official position for a House/Family:
Archaeologist The archeologist studies the history of ancient ruins and various mysteries of Calderia. Trust their expertise!
Master of Hunt Their role is to distribute hunting rights to the general populace & collect the contributions from the game they hunt.
Equerry They are an officer in charge of training and breeding horses for military purposes. Kindness and patience are their principal qualities.

These new units will be used during battles and compose your army.
This selection puts emphasis on the Renaissance's inspiration. If you want to share your thoughts with the developers, join us on Discord.

Three new units have been added to Great Houses of Calderia:
You'll be able to grow your army with these new units. We're adding a greatsword, a spearman, and a pikeman.
