The 21st, Free Update for Green Hell is now available!
The entire team had so much fun while creating this update. We were constantly giving each other new ideas about what could also be added to it, that in its final form, there’s so much new stuff to play with! See them in the trailer below:
New mechanic: Painting
Yes! Now you can paint all kinds of constructions & the newly added decorations.
After you equip yourself with Paints made from different bugs and other colorful elements, you can create your Paintbrush out of some Fiber, Rope, and a Stick. That is how you can paint your base and color your furniture! Just pick a tint from our Amazonian color collection: white, blue, red, green, or yellow, and make the jungle even more vibrant!
This mechanic will work with the newly added decorations and the items that you’ve already constructed as well! So be creative, and let your imagination go wild!
New construction: Workbench
The Workbench definitely will be your new best friend with this update. It will enable crafting all different kinds of decorations for your base.
New constructions: Decorations
So… much… new… stuff… to… decorate… your… base!!!
With the use of the Workbench, you will be able to craft yourself some serious furniture items which will make your home-sweet-home even more cozy! You can craft a Table, a Chair, a Bench, a Night Stand and various Paintings to set a proper mood, or even mount some Animal Trophies to show off your hunting skills to others!
As something extra, we’ve also prepared some Rope, Leaf, and Bone Decorations for those who like pretty (or creepy!) stuff.
New constructions: Armor Stand & Arrow Holder
You’ve asked for it, and there we have it!
Thanks to these new Stands you will be able to store your Arrows securely and showcase your neatly crafted Armors on a display they deserve.
New constructions: Torch Stand & Torch Holder
Now these are constructions, we’ve been cooking for a long time. They’ve been sitting in our backlog for years now, but now we’ve got the right tools to complete them and make them shine!
You can place the Torch Holders inside your base to set a proper mood at night, and use the Torch Stands at strategic points on the map to easily direct you in the wilderness. Just remember - the torches won’t be burning forever and you will need to maintain them if you don’t want to be suddenly surrounded by the darkness of the night again.
New mechanic: Rearranging
Thanks to this new mechanic, you can rearrange the decorations you’ve created and move them to another place.
Don’t like the table standing in the corner? No problem, you can just move it to the nearby window. The painting is not looking great on that wall, huh? Just move it aside, or place it along the collection of your other paintings.

Free Update #20 - Anteater | Available Now!
Hello Adventurers,
Today is the day! We are proud to announce that the Free Update #20 for Green Hell - "Anteater" is available now!
The name of our latest free update hides many more new & fresh features than the name might suggest. Alongside having added new animals to your Animal Pen, we’ve prepared a bunch of cool mechanics and enhancements to the rest of the game. See the Anteater in action in the newest trailer, and if you’d like to dive into the update’s details - see the notes below.
New animal: Giant Anteater
The most exciting part of this update is the Giant Anteater. Some call him amusing, some think he’s cute, but he can be very aggressive - so you need to watch out! Naturally, you will be able to find this beast near anthills. He’s usually shy and will try to avoid you, but when threatened - he will not hesitate to use his claws to protect himself and might deal you great damage.
New mechanic: Spawning anthills
You may remember anthills from Green Hell before, stepping inside them and getting those pesky ants crawling all over you, or collecting the ants to mend your laceration wounds. But now, anthills may also serve as your guidepost to the place anteaters hang out most.
Until now, the only thing you could have done is either avoid or harvest an anthill. But now you can also destroy them! Destroying an anthill won’t provide you with more ants, but if you find an anthill standing in your way to build something, or if it blocks your path and you keep bumping into it, you will be able to remove it. Don’t worry, though; ants will always find a new spot to build a new house for their colony, so from now on a new anthill will soon appear in a nearby area. With some more animals looking for them, including the infamous anteater and… an armadillo?!
New mechanic: New animals in your animal pen
The Animal Husbandry update introduced the ability to breed some of the animal species from the jungle. Now, we are adding even more animals to your menagerie, as you will be able to breed Armadillos, Three-banded Armadillos, and - of course - Giant Anteaters!
New construction: Composter
Thanks to this simple construction you will be able to dispose of such things as rotten meat, spoiled food, leaves, animal drops, and everything organic in general - and not necessarily only expired things! As a product of such action, you will receive compost (see more details about this new item in the section below), and insects with which you will be able to feed your pack of Armadillos and Anteaters.
New item: Compost
Show your plants some love with the new, organic, homemade superfood - Compost! Compost is the most important and most fertilizing product of the Composter. With this nutritious and rich substance, you can elevate your planting skills to a higher level!
New construction: Feeding Trough - Insects
As you now have some new pals to take care of in your animal pen, you will need a way to feed them. By using this new construction, you will be able to feed anteaters and armadillos with insects. Bon appétit!
New mechanic: Parrot keeping
Now you can lure parrots into your base - or any other place where you build a Parrot Nest - where parrots can fly into and become accustomed to your presence.
New construction: Parrot Nest
When you manage to get parrots safe and comfy in your Parrot Nest, you will be rewarded with feathers and eggs left by the birds.
And that’s all in this #20 free content update! As usual, thank you so much for supporting the game. We welcome all your thoughts and feedback on our discord server.
Last but not least, keep your eyes peeled for our next update for Green Hell! Be sure it will make your Amazonian home super cozy!

We’re excited to announce “Flamekeeper” - our 19th free content update, now available for Green Hell on PC!
Our previous update - “Fortifications”, was just a prelude to what we’ve been working on - the long-awaited “combat update”. By providing you the possibility to create fences, palisades, and gates, we wanted to create ways for strategically fortifying your base and yourself from various enemies and wild animal attacks. With “Flamekeeper”, you should level up your skill and make new defenses to keep the flame alive!
New construction: Eternal Flame
The main hero of our update - the Eternal Flame Totem! With this new construction that you can create in Waraha Villages, you will be able to launch the Ritual of Flame.
New gameplay mechanics: Ritual of Flame
Improve your Totem by gathering the necessary materials and launching the Ritual of Flame. Survive the enemy horde and its attack, stop them from extinguishing the Eternal Flame, and receive an award. Think fast or create your strategy - get the help of your friends, and create advanced fortifications, which we added in the previous update.
New enemy attack type: Wasp Nest
In the previous update, we’ve added improvements to the enemy's AI. Now we’re boosting their abilities even further with their new skill. When they aren’t able to reach you - they will unleash their new attack! By throwing the wasp nest, they will be able to lure you out of your “stronghold”. Hiding on a tree or an upper floor or your base won’t be so easy now, huh?
New weapon: War Club
Survive all 50 stages of the Flamekeeper Challenge and receive a unique award: “War Club” - the most powerful weapon in the game so far!
We know our community is super skilled and creative, so we can’t wait to read your stories and see your photos & videos on how you’re fighting against the enemy's attack waves to keep the totem flame safe. Share your records on social media with #GreenHell, or tell us on our Discord to which wave you’ve managed to level up your Flamekeeper.
Follow Green Hell on Steam to be the first to know about the upcoming new content, and join our Discord to chat with us and our awesome community, where you can share screenshots of your newly fortified bases & Eternal Flames.
