NEW TOURNAMENT!
The New Year is near and what is the best way to celebrate it if not with another big tournament! 6 days, an extended prize pool, special prizes for the best players of both servers, modified decks on both servers, more sessions are taken into account... The New Year Tournament is almost here!
Please keep in mind that since rating points are frozen during tournaments and the monthly rating reset happens on the 1st day of each month, the December season actually ends a bit earlier, with the beginning of the tournament.

Tournament points (place in session/points gained):
For each win, players receive additional points that depend on the strength of the opponents over whom they have won. Important: your tournament points will continue to increase with the increase in the tournament score of your past opponents, over whom you prevailed – even if you already have reached the limit of sessions for the tournament. What this means is that the tournament is never over for you as long as your previously conquered opponents continue to play, and win.
During this tournament, regular rating points will be frozen for all the players. Your tournament sessions will NOT affect your regular rating.
Players get tournament points for the first 14/18 (depending on server) sessions played in the tournament on each of the servers. Any subsequent sessions won't give any tournament points, and won't increase the number of defeated opponents who give additional points. Nonetheless, victories of all opponents who were defeated in the first 14/18 sessions will affect your final tournament rating.
PRIZE FUND:
Awarded: Top 20 players on each of the servers. In addition to the main prize fund, every player who finishes all tournament sessions receives a special bonus player icon “Facepalm” (only if it has not been received before)!
ːhypnoheartː Special prize: the top-3 players on each of the servers will receive by registered mail a set of 4 hard enamel pins "Gremlins, Inc.". The pins will be mailed to the winners as a registered letter to any country in the world, provided that we receive the mailing address within 72 hours after the announcement of the tournament's results.
In the case when at the end of the tournament two or more players will have equal number of tournament points, they will share the same (highest) place and get the same rewards. However, the award list will not be extended, and we will still award only the top 20 players on each server.

In just a few weeks, we'll celebrate the Lunar New Year. We currently work on adding 2 new cards to the game, and here's a preview of how they would work –
It's been a few years since we set up the Asian server cluster in Singapore, and things worked pretty for us there.
But time flies, things change, and during the last week our old reliable server in Singapore has experienced 3 crashes due to failures in hardware.
During the night of Friday to Saturday, we made the decision to upgrade the server and move it to a new, moder machine.
It seems like everything is now fine with one exception: the data link between China and Singapore for the new server reports too many data packet loss instances for certain Chinese providers.
We had the same issue with the old server in 2016, and we fixed it then. We are now looking into the way of fixing this at the new server as well.
We apologise for inconvenience to those of you who currently experience delays in connecting to the Singapore server. Please know that we care, and that we will not stop working on this until we fix this.
We wish that we could have planned it, but the little monsters that decided to crash the old server gave us no warning about the change.
If you have any problems with the conneciton to the Singapore server, please leave us a note on Discord or on Steam forums. We will look into each issue. Because the loading may be unreliable for some users, you may also experience delay in loading your inventory. Nothing is lost on our server. The delay is just due to connectivity issues.
We will update this message once the issue has been resolved.
We thank every player who reached out to us with description of their issues, because this allowed us to understand the scope of the issue.
Thank you, and we apologise one more time for this temporary inconvenience.

Today we released the Summer Update for Gremlins, Inc. which includes new cards and quality-of-life changes (including support of higher screen resolutions).
Below is the list of changes:
A. NEW FEATURES
Support for higher screen resolutions
Gremlins, Inc. now supports additional screen resolutions: 2560x1440 and 3840x2160.
Visual notification of a new session
If the game's window isn't active (minimized or the player switched to another task), the game's icon on taskbar will blink in following cases:
- a new ranked session is found for the player - on character choice screen at the start of the session - the session has began
Highest and lowest results of the end game stats are now highlighted
When the end game stats are shown, the highest and the lowest results of each category are now highlighted (the highest with green color and the lowest with red color). This change is retroactive and will work with the stats of the sessions that were completed prior to the update.

Nearly four years ago, we launched Gremlins, Inc. in Early Access on Steam.
Gremlins, Inc. is a “premium” (that is, not free-to-play) digital boardgame that requires its players to be crazy smart about combining dozens of available strategies in order to prevail – not the easiest concept to sell, if you ask around. And yet as of today, there’s 516,068 players who own Gremlins, Inc. on Steam – coming from over a hundred of different countries!
OUR AUDIENCE
We found that making your game available in different languages is a great way to make your players happy. Here’s where our audience is coming from:
It may be hard to believe, but English is the native language of fewer than 25% of our audience.
OUR APPROACH TO NEW CONTENT
Early on, we made the decision to release all the new content for free so that the game is updated for everyone. The few DLCs that we released contain purely cosmetic items designed to bring more fun to those of players who love the game and want to support us. It seems that this approach makes people happy:
NUMBER OF PLAYERS ONLINE
Below you can see the number of players online in the game, on average, by months, since its release. Green is “average players online at any point in a given month”, orange is “peak” for a specific month.
We’re really happy to see that people continue to play the game on both European and Asian servers.
WHAT’S IN THE FUTURE FOR GREMLINS, INC.
We remain committed to updating the game with new cards every few months, to changing the rules of ranked sessions on each server once per month – to keep the competition challenging. We also continue to organize regular official tournaments, with the next one scheduled for August 9-12.
The screenshot above is from one of the exceptional tournament sessions: this is the final game of this year’s team tournament “Cooperating Capitalists”. You can watch the full recording here.
COMMUNITY
The best way to connect to the community of Gremlins, Inc. is through its official Discord server.
The server currently has 2,500 members who speak English, Russian, Japanese, Chinese and Korean languages.
WHAT’S IN THE FUTURE FOR OUR STUDIO
Since 2017, most of our development efforts – outside of the time required to continue with the updates for Gremlins, Inc. – are focused on our new game, Spire of Sorcery.
We expect to release it on Steam under the Early Access program later this year. Initially the game will be available in English, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Japanese languages. Korean, German and French languages will be added a bit later.
Spire of Sorcery is a single-player dark fantasy survival game with indirect control. As with Gremlins, Inc., we’re giving the project 100% of our current skills, making it as good as we possibly can, and pushing our creative minds to their limit.
Financially, the development of Spire of Sorcery became possible only because of the great sales of Gremlins, Inc. We’d like to thank those of you who already bought a copy of our previous work for making this new game possible! Since 2013, it’s been our dream to make a game about exploration and magic, and now it’s finally coming together, with just the last stretch of development work left.
