It's been reported that achievement pop-ups were causing an issue.

For the time being, they've (the pop-ups) has been disabled in episodes.

Instead, a success sound is played and the achievement is added to your steam account, once certain criteria are met.

Grimm & Tonic: Aperitif

Hi Everyone!

This is it!
We've crossed the rubicon!
This project has taken longer than expected and has changed immensely over the course of its development, but I remain proud of this little story.

Special thanks to the multi-headed Quality Assurance team, who sometimes responds to the names: Paul, Dwayne, Charis and/or Donovon.

I invite you all to experience the official release of Episode 3, inclusive of changes to Episode 1 and 2.
I hope you enjoy!

Thanks for the continued support!

Pivot

Hi Everyone!

I know it has been a while ... but I've been reviewing the state of the game, the feedback I've been getting as a well as the expected return for the project.
And unfortunately, we've reached a pivot point.
Grimm & Tonic and its characters have been with me for over 3 years. And I'm grateful for the opportunity to build and explore a world in which they can 'live & breathe.

However, the scope of the game has proven larger than anticipated and I fear that the original message behind the story would be lost in additional episodes.

To that end, I will be re-writing episodes 1, 2 & 3 to be more in-line with the original focus for the project and to bring the story to a satisfying conclusion.

The official full launch date for the Grimm & Tonic will be 31/10/2019

The game will release with the following features:

  • 3 episodes
  • 3 B-Side stories
  • Steam Achievements
  • A total of 20 memorable characters
  • A Jazzy, Noir, Manga-inspired Aesthetic
  • Choices that matter!

In light of the reduced scope, the final price for the game will be $4.99 USD.
For those who have supported the game at its original price of $9.99 USD, I ask that you sign up to this mailing list, so as to receive an additional free key at full launch.

Thanks for the continued support!
Stay tuned for more,
Spritewrench.

Update #13 - Shaken, not Stirred

Hello Everyone!

The previous update introduced a bunch of bugs and Episode 2 wasn't playable at all. Build 0.2.0.1 should address them.
See the patch notes below:

0.2.0.1
<*> Fix a few typos in Episode 2
<*> Differentiated the 'Summon' button in the grimoire more
<*> Added Bad End Warnings! (see the floating skull in the top left corner)
<*> Address visible Scroll bar on Title Screen
<*> Unlocked Episode 2 (will continue to do this with future episodes until final release)

Looking forward to feedback as always.

All the best,
Spritewrench.

#12 - Straight Up

Hello Everyone!

I'm extremely happy to announce build 0.1.6.0 is now LIVE!
And with it so is Episode 2: Straight Up!
You return to your new job at the premiere local shady hole-in-the-wall, DEAD-END. Saul is missing, and it's your job to open the bar without him. Maybe one of the usual patrons knows where he might have gone.

Looking forward to feedback as always.

All the best,
Spritewrench.

Hello Everyone!

I'm extremely happy to announce build 0.1.5.0 is now LIVE!
See the list of changes below:
<*> Implemented new 'branching routes' paradigm in place of the previous 'circular flag check' system.
<*> Updated Grimoire with shiny new pictures and descriptions
<*> Increased text speed
<*> Reduced number of audio files loaded on start (removed one track). Should address crash on load issues.

As usual, looking forward to feedback as I continue to work on Episode 2.
