From now until January 2, Tyria welcomes everyone—whether you’re a seasoned hero or just taking your first steps into adventure—for a celebration brimming with joy, laughter, and just the right amount of snowball mischief. This year’s Wintersday introduces a host of delightful rewards! Wrap your hands in cozy Winter Mittens once you complete the (Annual) Wintersday Traditions meta-achievement. You’ll also be able to add whimsy to your arsenal with the Ginger Shortbread Short Bow, the Wintersday Bash Hammer, or the Gingerbread Speargun. For collectors, the new Mini Plush Fox is an irresistible and adorable companion. You and your guildmates can enhance your halls—or even personal homesteads—with new Wintersday-themed decorations.

Where to Begin
A letter from Toymaker Tixx should already be in your in-game mailbox, offering a handy invitation that will teleport you straight to Divinity’s Reach. Portals in major cities like Lion’s Arch and Hoelbrak also lead to the bustling heart of the festival.
Visit locations marked by peppermint candies on your map to participate in Wintersday activities. Don’t forget to visit Wintersday trees and Toymaker Tixx himself each day to collect gifts.
You’ll also receive a letter from Orphan Laine, who needs your help with a scavenger hunt. The hunt will require you to travel to some areas intended for level 80 players, but once you’ve unlocked it you can complete it at any time, even after Wintersday ends.
And for adventurers roaming Central Tyria, keep an eye out for enormous, mysterious presents that hide holiday surprises—and sometimes mischievous skritt!

Join the bell maestro in the enchanted snow globe for a collaborative rhythm game! Play iconic songs alongside fellow Tyrians to earn karma, Wintersday gifts, and more. Speak to the Bell Maestro near the Royal Terrace in Divinity’s Reach and enter the enchanted snow globe to take part!
Donation Drive
Speak with the Charity Corps Seraph in the Crown Pavilion to purchase rolls of wrapping paper. These rolls can be combined with various items earned from Wintersday activities to create wrapped gifts. Give these gifts to orphans throughout Divinity’s Reach and get some well-earned karma for your good deeds.
Mount Racing
Speed through the snowy streets of Divinity’s Reach in the mount race! Even if you don’t own a mount, you can rent a raptor for just 10 silver.
Snowball Mayhem
Enter a snow-covered battlefield for a capture-the-flag-style brawl. Choose your role—supporter, heavy gunner, or scout—and help your team collect Wintersday gifts to claim victory. Speak with the festive Lionguard near the Royal Terrace in Divinity’s Reach to enter and choose your role!
Strike Mission: Secret Lair of the Snowmen
Assemble a squad and enter the portal southwest of the Crown Pavilion to take on Freezie himself! Heal his frozen heart in this epic Strike Mission, available to players at level 80.
Tixx's Infinirarium
Help Toymaker Tixx keep his workshop running smoothly in this dynamic dungeon. Team up and work together to tackle malfunctioning toys and haywire machinery. Enter Toymaker Tixx’s airship from the candy cane portal just west of the Crown Pavilion to assist the asura craftsman.
Toypocalypse
Team up with friends to defend Tixx’s gift dolyaks from waves of mischievous malfunctioning toys in this tower defense-style challenge. Speak to the toy captain just south of the Crown Pavilion in Divinity’s Reach to enter this game mode.
Winter Wonderland
For jumping puzzle enthusiasts, Winter Wonderland offers a frosty challenge. Choose one of three paths, dodge exploding presents, and leap across melting snowflakes to claim your reward! Speak to the festive youth at the Crown Pavilion to enter.
Wintertime Raiding
To go perfectly with the Wintersday celebrations, we're making it easier for you to gather your squad and tackle the eighth Guild Wars 2 raid wing, Mount Balrior! Starting December 10, Emboldened mode and Call of the Mists will be enabled for Wing 8, just in time for the holiday break. The Emboldened effect gradually increases your squad’s strength as you persevere through the raid, making it the perfect opportunity for newcomers and seasoned adventurers alike to dive in and explore the challenges. And Call of the Mists makes raiding more rewarding, so it's a great time to attempt to tackle some bosses.
For now, Emboldened will remain active for Mount Balrior until it joins the global Call of the Mists and Emboldened rotation, expected later next year. And don’t worry—if your squad craves the thrill of a challenge, you can disable Emboldened at any time.

Come join us in celebrating Wintersday - Toymaker Tixx has made his annual visit to Divinity's Reach to spread seasonal cheer and festivity! Bring the cheer of Wintersday to the distant north in the Secret Lair of the Snowmen, complete daily achievements to earn fanciful holiday weapons, save Wintersday for the orphans spread around Divinity’s Reach by giving them wrapped gifts, test your snow-throwing skills against other players in Snowball Mayhem, experience the joy of jumping in Winter Wonderland, defend against waves of toys in Toypocalypse, and help keep Tixx’s airship The Infinirarium in order! You will also see Wintersday gifts appearing all around Tyria.
The Wintersday annual meta achievement 'Wintersday Traditions' has been updated with a new armor reward, the Winter Mittens - keep your sword hand warded from frosty shivers! Last year's meta reward, the Winter Fur Shoulders, can now be purchased at the festival rewards vendors.
A new Plush weapon set is now available! You'll receive your choice of a weapon by progressing the annual Wintersday Traditions meta achievement, or the weekly Wintersday Festivities achievement.
Wintersday Festivities, along with the corresponding weekly achievements in other festivals, now reward their weapon box before their festival material.
The Sacred Solstice weapon set is now available on the Weekly Wintersday vendors.
Four new weapons are now available as a rare drop from Wintersday gifts. They can also be purchased from Sparking Stone in Divinity's Reach.
A new mini pet has been added to Wintersday vendors: the adorable Plush Fox.
Deft Lahar is visiting Divinity's Reach for the festival, and has a variety of Homestead-tailored recipes for your favorite Wintersday decorations to offer.

The offseason Wintersday Vendor in Hooligan's Route now stocks a much greater amount of Wintersday items for customers who find themselves with excess Snowflakes after Tixx has closed up his workshop for the year, including the recipes for Homestead decorations.
A number of festival-related bugs have been fixed to ensure a happy holiday for all heroes.
To ensure that festivalgoers have ample time to enjoy the holiday, Wintersday will be active until January 2nd at noon PST. See you in Divinity's Reach!

Updated Guild Banners to improve quality of life and reduce buff icon clutter
The Guild Heroes Banner's multiple buffs have been consolidated to a single buff for its reward boosts and a buff for the Swiftness effect
Guild banners whose effect was less than the equivalent effect of the Guild Heroes Banner - for example, the basic Karma Banner's 5% Karma boost - are now increased to match the Heroes Banner.
Interacting with a lesser banner while under the effect of a Guild Heroes Banner will now refresh its duration, if its duration was lower than the banner would provide.
Removed the non-Heroes banners from the Guild Commendation vendors, since they were extremely inefficient compared to the price of the Guild Heroes Banner.
Reduced the recharge time of Guild Banners and Feasts when deployed from the Guild Storage.
Several books have been added to the story instances in Janthir Wilds chapters 11, 12, and 13.
Players who have acquired the four gifts needed to make Klobjarne Geirr and have unlocked the legendary spear's skin can talk to Unending Tribute to fully complete the Legendary Weapon: Klobjarne Geirr Gifts achievement. This is to help players who have had some of the components prior to the introduction of this achievement and did not retroactively check progress.
The "Mini Blue Cuckoo Hatchling" and the "Mini Orange Tigris Cub" have now been added to the Black Lion Chest Merchants for 5 Black Lion Statuettes.
Janthir Syntri: Fixed a bug where small chests at Stricken Plains were not guaranteeing Charged Titan Ore when opened.
Fixed an animation bug on the Ruinshard Shambler Rampage attack so it's not interrupted
Purchasing the Standing Stones Timepiece and Bearkin War Helm remnants progress the respective item in the Legendary Spear: Klobjarne Geirr achievement. Players can also load into Lowland Shore to retroactively check if they have completed the Lowland Shore Mastery or Janthir Syntri Mastery achievements.
Homesteads
Updated the centering and alignment of many weapon skins on the Weapon Display Case decoration.
A cuddly new Homestead decoration is available for players who've completed the Build-a-Quaggan collection.
Raids
Mount Balrior
Decima: Focused Fluxlance now only requires three players in the beam instead of five. Because base damage is divided among players, the base damage was also reduced to keep final damage numbers consistent.
Decima: Fixed a bug causing players to be miscounted by Focused Fluxlance. The mechanic will now fail consistently if too few players soak the beam.
Decima: Defiance increased by 25%. However, the channel for Flux Nova is now shortened when Decima's Defiance is broken and she gains Fractured Armor.
Decima: Peal of Harmony is now gained every 5% damage taken instead of every 3% damage taken. This will reduce the number of Dancing Sparks generated overall.
Decima: Fixed a few issues causing the telegraphs for Decima's various Fluxlance attacks to be invisible to some players.
Decima: When Decima is defeated any telegraphed Fluxlance attacks will be interrupted and clean up immediately.
Decima: To provide a little extra time to position for Focused Fluxlance, all Fluxlance attacks in Phase 3 now have an extra half-second of warmup time before they fire.
Decima: Characters squashed because they were standing directly under Decima during Earthrend and Seismic Crash are now instead downed and knocked away.
Decima: Fixed a bug preventing Fluxlance in Phase 1 from targeting Downed characters.
Greer: Greer no longer has permanent Resolution.
Greer: Enfeebling Miasma attack region now matches its warning areas, and lingering gas clouds have area warning circles
Greer: Greer's projectiles can no longer be reflected back at him. Those projectiles will instead be destroyed, keeping the protective utility of the affected skills
Greer: Surviving Empowering Beasts are now cleaned up when Greer is slain

Today we're excited to lift the curtain and launch the first major update for Guild Wars 2®: Janthir Wilds™—”Godspawn”! This update contains three new story chapters to continue the expansion's story and set the commander on a difficult journey as they go against the titan forces.

To begin this content, players must have completed up through Chapter 3, “Home Sweet Home” in the Janthir Wilds story journal tab. Once completed, players can choose to skip ahead by selecting “11. Trial and Error,” and clicking “Play This Chapter.

The wizards weren't only busy creating new achievements and rewards. Players who purchase a Legendary Weapon Starter Key can use it to teleport to the Mists Vault, where they can choose from a selection of four legendary starter kits and begin their journey toward a legendary weapon. Members of the Astral Ward are also on hand to help explain the road to crafting a legendary weapon and conjure previews of the weapons you'll be choosing from. If you'd like to visit and take in the view of the Mists without a starter key, you can speak with Field Archivist Cierle inside the Mists Vault or Sarettokk in Lion's Arch to obtain a Mists Vault access key.

Here's what's on the horizon for Guild Wars 2, including its exciting debut on the Epic Games Store! The upcoming New Heroes Jump Start event will welcome players old and new, with opportunities to boost their progress and earn extra rewards as they dive into the adventure. Anticipated quality-of-life improvements are also on the way for World vs. World, creating a smoother and more dynamic battlefield experience for all. Early next year, players can expect impactful skills and balance improvements, plus fresh additions to the Wizard's Vault.
Wintersday will bring three weeks of festive cheer, and the Lunar New Year celebration will return early next year, filling the Crown Pavilion in Divinity's Reach with lively activities to mark the Canthan new year. Raids Return to Guild Wars 2 Next Week!

As the release of the next Guild Wars 2®: Janthir Wilds™ chapter, “Godspawn,” draws near on November 19, we’re thrilled to share some exciting new trailers and an exclusive look at our first raid in five years, along with the upcoming Convergence event on Mount Balrior! Players will soon be able to explore this new, mysterious area, crafted to test even the most battle-hardened adventurers. Both the raid and the Convergence are packed with high-stakes encounters, hidden lore, and mechanics designed to challenge teams of all sizes, whether you're facing the mountain’s dangers with a ten-player squad or a fifty-player group.
Raiding inside Mount Balrior
To enter Mount Balrior, gather your team and travel to either the Lion’s Arch Aerodrome or Janthir Syntri, where a portal will transport you into the heights of the mountain fortress. Awaiting within is a treacherous path brimming with enemies.
Mount Balrior is structured with three main bosses and additional encounters, with each section designed to test your coordination and adaptability. Exploration will also play a key role for those looking to delve into the raid’s lore. You'll be teaming up once again with the Durmand Priory’s expert scholar, Glenna, and comparing notes about what has been occurring in the region.
Greer and Decima: Evolved Mechanics, Fiercer than Ever
Prepare to face a whole new level of intensity as Greer and Decima return with their differing combat styles—and while each boss will create its own set of challenges, we have designed the normal mode of the raid to allow pickup groups and more casual raiders a chance at success. Greer’s relentless, chaotic attacks are back in force, demanding sharp reflexes and adaptability, while Decima’s highly structured mechanics require meticulous planning and coordination to overcome. Their signature moves and visual cues will feel familiar, but don’t be fooled—each ability has been reimagined, layered with new complexities that will keep your team on its toes. And, of course, the titans aren’t finished surprising you yet; Greer and Decima have a few entirely new tricks to ensure a very challenging experience.
And to make matters more dire, Greer and Decima won’t be alone for long…
For those seeking the ultimate test, a future update will introduce a challenge mode for all of the bosses and a legendary mode for the final boss. These modes escalate the difficulty for thrill-seekers and top-tier raiders alike. The final boss’s legendary mode will demand unparalleled skill, offering a race to world-first completion.
Convergences in Janthir Wilds
Our newest Convergence activity, located at the Harvest Den bonfire in Lowland Shore, offers players a new challenge and a shared adventure. Like the Convergence in Guild Wars 2®: Secrets of the Obscure™, up to fifty players can take on this event, bringing squads together to face familiar foes with a twist.
Public squads, up to fifty players, launch every three hours, staggered to create Convergence events every hour-and-a-half as they alternate with Guild Wars 2®: Secrets of the Obscure™ Convergences. If you’d rather tackle it with a private squad of any size, you’re welcome to start the event for the cost of an Unstable Rift Motivation at any time! Players can expect a similar level of difficulty to the Convergence from Guild Wars 2®: Secrets of the Obscure™. Most groups will complete this event within 20 to 30 minutes, offering an exciting but approachable challenge.
Much like we teased in the prelaunch blog, this Convergence features the Claw of the lowland kodan, Stoic Alder, as he narrates the player’s journey to young kodan cubs. Alder’s storytelling adds a unique twist each time, creating unexpected moments that keep everyone guessing as the tale unfolds.
Our team took on the exciting challenge with this multipurpose map, which is designed to host Convergences, story quests, and raid content. Packed with hidden passages and breakable walls, it allows designers to modify and reshape areas, creating a truly unique environment for each encounter. Exploring its depths may even reveal a few hidden details for those who enjoy uncovering every secret!
Familiar Faces, New Challenges
In the release of “Godspawn,” players who take part in the new Convergence will confront Decima and Greer, with a final boss joining in two future updates to expand the variety and keep players on their toes.
For those who’ve battled Greer and Decima in raids, you’ll recognize some of their attacks in this new Convergence—although they've been tailored for the fifty-player experience. Built specifically for Convergence encounters, these bosses will have distinct strategies and adapted abilities. Each boss will provide its own unique challenge and surprises throughout the Convergence, and you’ll need to work together to come out victorious.
