New update with new weapon skins!
Hey all, we've released an update today to address a few issues reported by the community, most notably addressing issues with attempting to join friends from local sessions or from the initial main menu. We've also put in some fixes for those occasional invisible Hoppers (and corrected a few other issues we found along the way) so that they're once again playing fairly. Lastly we've also corrected an issue that would cause inordinately long load times if you happened to have a very large number of friends in your friend's list.
Along with these fixes we've added 2 new weapon skins for every weapon in the game. The first is an alternate skin that's unlocked once you hit level 3 with the weapon, and the second is a pure gold skin unlocked on max level. You can swap at any time in the mod UI (kinda hidden in the uppper right portion of the menu) and you can freely mix between the default, alternate, and golden skins per weapon. Enjoy!
Lastly we've pushed 4 new weekly missions for everybody to tackle. Keep the feedback coming, thanks!
Gunheart on Sale this Week!
Can you believe Gunheart has already been out for 2 months? They grow up so fast, and Gunheart has certainly been growing!
These are just a few of the features we’ve added to the game since launch:
Local Play Mode: Do you believe that true glory is reserved only for those that enter the battlefield alone? Don't want those other pesky bounty hunters bothering you with their "friendship" and "cooperation." Then we've got a mode for you!
Horde Mode: Battle 15 increasingly difficult waves of enemies across 3 open battlefields! Enemies get new modifiers to make them even tougher, but tons of loot and money await those who can run the gauntlet!
More Gun Mods!: You said, "We love gun mods!" We said, "Okay, here's some more!"
Rig Mods!: You said, "We love gun mods!" We said, "Why just guns?"
New Movement System: Totally revamped our locomotion system to make navigation as smooth as possible for VR and desktop players. Strafe + Jump + Teleport work together to provide a fluid experience that is unmatched.
More Control Options: Click to turn: check. Air control: check. Improved click detection on Vive controllers: check. VR strafe speed slider: check. Inverted mouse option because one guy on Discord asked for it: sure why not? CHECK!
Lone Wolf Mode: As if Elite mode wasn't hard enough already, now you've got to do it by yourself.
New Customization Options: Now you can customize the color of your rig, and those of you who have managed to max out your rigs get cool new title cards to show off.
So to celebrate, Gunheart is 25% off this week!

New weekly missions + upcoming hotfix preview
Four weekly missions have been uploaded for everyone to tackle: Floating Mine Sweeping, Pirate Combat, Lair of the Floaters (ELITE), and finally Big Weapons, Small Problems. Each mission has custom modifiers and objectives to make the experience more challenging than most campaign missions, so jump on in and let us know what you think.
We're also working on the next patch for Gunheart and wanted to preview some of the changes:
Local Play Option
While we already support the option to play privately to avoid strangers jumping into your missions, we've heard from the community that many players would like an option to not play on our dedicated servers at all. To that end we've been working on a local play option that will allow you to play through all missions in the game, unlock all the mods and whatnot, but still using the same profile that you'd use in online play.
This mode is entirely solo, so no option for local co-op (yet!), and is a great way to play the game without any worries of latency whatsoever. You'll still need to be online to update your profile and receive mission data from our master server, but the entire game instance will be running locally. And at any point you can jump back online with your servers to show off the latest, invite a friend for some co-op, or maybe even dive into some PVP action.
Prestige Upgrades
For players who reach the level 25 cap there isn't much more to dump their hard earned cash into - but with the new prestige system they'll be able to boost their Rig power even further while also unlocking special cosmetics to show off their prowess even more. Look in the PalCo upgrades section to see the new Prestige option which is only available once you've reached the level cap.
More mods! More skins!
Rig mods have unlocked a ton of fun gameplay with Gunheart and we're going to add some more goodies. We're also plugging in some more cosmetic options, including a skin swap option for those money hats out there looking to spend some PalCo bucks. Rumor also has it that there's a couple more weapon mods to be discovered soon...
The hotfix should be available for testing sometime late next week, and we're hoping to release it to the live servers shortly after. Thank you for all the support, and please keep sending us your feedback either in the forums or on discord.
June update is live! Video Version!
Want to learn about the June update without a bunch of words getting in your way? Then watch this!
Our first update since the 1.0 launch is now live! We've focused on a mix of new features/content along with tons of improvements and bug fixes based on community feedback. Here are some of the top things to look for in this month's update and you can find more details by joining us on discord
New features
Horde mode: Battle through three different rooms, each with five increasingly difficult waves of Anthromites. Enjoy dying at the hands of enemies imbued with extra damage and other fun mutators (that stack!). If you manage to get through the gauntlet there will of course be some sweet loot waiting on the other side. Like everything in Gunheart, bring some friends along for extra fun (and because you’ll want someone to revive you).
Rig paint jobs: In addition to customizing hats and faces, you can now customize your rig color. We went full on automaker with this once and came up with names for color combinations that make almost no sense. My favorite colors right now are Nacho and Hawk. Hey, while you’re over there getting a new coat of paint, you might as well throw on a few …
Rig mods: That's right. Mods aren’t just for guns anymore! We took our ever-popular gun mod system and made a new version specifically for your rig. Now you can upgrade your robot body with increased air control, projectile slowing, AOE damage on shield break, and some other crazy stuff that gets even crazier with each new tier you unlock.
New movement system: We’ve completely revamped the way strafing works in Gunheart. There are now a lot more areas that can be walked on, a lot less areas where you can get stuck, and a lot more control while you’re in the air (try one of the rig mods for even more control).
PVP updates: New PVP-specific health system. Armor and shield pickups are now scattered around the PVP maps. Grab them with full health for an overshield! We’ve made a balance pass on the weapons. Most notable change was a nerf to the pistols who were a bit too effective at killing folks across the map. The carbines got a little love and a buff to go with the love. Full-auto mods will now negatively impact damage a little more than they did before.
New enemy behaviors: Enemies will now spawn a little closer to you so they’ll be more likely to hunt you down instead of the other way around. Buzzkills will now eventually go crazy and dive bomb you! Ridgeback projectiles now leave behind noxious fumes so you’ll want to stay clear of those. Zombugs are tougher, but removing their limbs will help take them down.
Lone Wolf mode: “Elite mode is too easy!” Okay, so pretty much no one has actually said that, but we’re doing this anyway. Take elite mode, make the enemies tougher, don’t let friends join, and you’ve got lone wolf mode. Enjoy, sadists. Oh, you’ll need to 3 star a mission before you see this pop up as an option.
Thank you!
We appreciate all the feedback and suggestions for the game - please keep it coming! There's more we have planned for Gunheart in the coming months and it's important to us that we're also including your ideas into how the game evolves. Thanks!
