Two new missions are available to knock out this, this time focused on the Ridgebacks. Jump on in to battle some 'mites, wrangle some Ridgebacks, and earn some sweet bounty hunter rewards!

11/20 Update notes
We've released a small update to address a couple issues found with the Fall update.
Fixed an issue that would lock a mission, preventing it from ever being completed (encountered most often in Bug Hunt)
Fixed Intravenous Bomb weapon modification not reliably applying damage
Fixed certain weapons not triggering mod callbacks correctly, preventing mods like Intravenous Bombs, Bloodlust, and Easy Money from working with the crossbow, shotgun, minecaster, bow, or rocket launcher
Let us know if you encounter any other issues and we'll be sure to investigate for future updates. Also, we hope to have a larger update in a couple days that should significantly boost rendering performance for machines that are currently CPU bound.

New weapon mods to discover, now 41 weapons mods to unlock, upgrade, and mix-n-match:
- Glass cannon, trades shields and health for big damage boosts, can stack with each weapon so be careful
- Bloodlust, gain a stacking damage boost with each kill that dissipates after some time
- Bubble shield, slows down incoming enemy projectiles for easy deflection and dodging
- Intravenous bombs, causes enemies to explode on death
- Easy money, when ya need the extra boost
- Berserker, chance to flip an enemy against it's friends for a few seconds
- Shielded, classic trading damage for shields to tank up your rig
- Flypaper expanded to work with all weapons, can use that sweet slomo ability with your favorite damage dealer now

"buzzbags" can spit out enemies and hatching eggs, take them out before you get overrun

Datapads sprinkled about can provide useful info and background on the Gunheart universe
Two new bosses have been added as part of the campaign
Enemy upgrades
Dropships have been upgraded with several new behaviors, be on the lookout for the increased threat
Buzzkills also have been improved, now will flock with other buzzkill to prevent greater challenge to players
Ongoing improvements to the hoppers, grunts, and zombugs to quash the obvious bugs and improve coordination between the enemies
Mountain of improvements, bug fixes, and polish
Audio overhaul - all weapons, creatures, and most objects in the game are have either received new sounds and been polished
Gunstr weapon store has had a complete UI overhaul
Payola-saurus loot station has replaced the beloved prototype station from last update
Combo weapons no longer have infinite ammo (find those ammo kegs in the missions!)
Combo weapons have had damage boosts as well to reflect their role as super weapons, so use sparingly
Leaderboards track player's best runs on missions, global leaderboard added for the shooting range
Trout have been added to the game!!

11/3 Hotfix + Weekly Missions
A new hotfix was released this morning to address some server/client crashes related to physics. We've also pushed live new weekly missions for everyone: Fly Tipper!

Buzzkills have been getting into PalCo money pumps again and leaving a right mess, we're sending you in to clean up the trash and collect the missing cash! Shotguns and Sniper Rifles Only!
There are two difficulty variants available for this weekly mission, and we've kept last week's death disc themed missions around as well. Happy hunting!

Mission: Harvest
PalCo pumps across several homesteads are being plagued by an Anthromite invasion, worse still, they've come straight from the broken zone... Gunstr is also sponsoring this bounty by lending out rocket launchers.
New weekly missions: Fort Crag and Zombugs in the Mist!
Two new weekly missions have been rotated in, along with last week's Bed Bugs missions.
Mission: Fort Crag
The Anthromites have taken Fort Crag, it's at a major intersection of our operations, PalCo suggests you clear it out.
Mission: Zombugs in the Mist
The broken zone has encroached upon PalCo sector 13 and several fusion towers have started to leak making things even more unpredictable. Clearing the area of hostiles will help to clean this mess up faster.
10/10 Hotfix
We've promoted a small hotfix for a couple issues in the October loot update. Thanks for all the feedback and bug reports so far, please keep them coming!
Release notes
Fixed issue preventing certain objectives from completing correctly, preventing mission rewards from being given to players.
Loot containers will avoid giving duplicate weapon mods when possible, either offering cash or a chance for a loot container upgrade instead.
Fixed issue allowing players to sometimes fire their weapons inside the Bent Horizon (outside of the shooting range).
Auto-reloader will now work correctly with the pistol and shotgun.
October Update is live!
We've pushed a new build to the public servers with the new loot system for everyone to dig into along with some new features and the usual salvo of bug fixes. To help explain the new stuff, here's a lovely video of Brian talking about some of the new additions... https://youtu.be/vXL3ykXxTO0

Loot & Weapon Mods!
There are 20+ weapon mods to unlock by smashing open loot containers you've earned in the Bent Horizon. Purchase additional slots for your favorite guns to stack modifications and create your own unique weapon. Some weapon mods are exclusive to specific weapons while other can be used across multiple freely.
If you've accumulated mods in the previous system you'll get bonus loot containers as compensation. New loot containers are earned by killing Anthromites and completing bounties (harder bounties giving chances for rare and even epic loot containers).
Dash teleport option
We've added a dash teleport option for players who prefer it over the blink approach. Give it a shot and let us know what you think as we'll keep iterating and refining it with future updates. Hopefully at this stage we've got a good locomotion setup for every type of VR player!
New hats & Achievements
A salvo of new hats and hairstyles have been added, all unlocked by cracking open loot containers. Collet 'em all! We've added some new unlocks to the game as well, and all the previous unlocks that were tied to unlocking a specific weapon mod will now reward loot containers.
Limited player respawns
We've moved to a limited set of shared respawns for players instead of the paying to respawn approach we had. Hopefully this is more a fair solution for all players while also increasing the challenges for the advanced missions where you can no longer spend your way to the end regardless of the difficulty. You can also find extra lives mid missions with the new extra life kegs (looks like a milk carton with a heart on it) so keep an eye out if you need 'em.

New update preview - Loot!
We've pushed a new preview build to the 'alphastaging' branch for everyone to test out and provide feedback on before we push it live. We've revamped the weapon mod system and introduced a new loot drop mechanism as a way to unlock the goodies.
Loot System
Completing missions and taking out the Anthromites gives you chances to earn loot 'eggs' right now which can be cracked open in the Bent Horizon for different rewards. There are different levels of loot 'eggs' (common, rare, epic,???) all with their own chances to unlock different stuff. You can earn new cosmetic items, bonus cash, and most importantly - weapon modifications!
Previously each weapon had up to 3 mods to unlock that all stacked on top of each other, essentially the equivalent of "leveling up" the weapon over the course of the game. Now each weapon can have up to 3 mod slots and we've created a variety of mods that all have different property changes. You can mix and match mods to completely change the function and feel of weapon, creating the ultimate loadout for your playstyle.
Some mods are tied to certain type of weapons, all mods can scale in effectiveness based on the quality you've discovered, and there are some unique mods to find as well. As you can imagine this system is quite complex, so that's why we've opted to release an early preview to help work out the initial kinks before we go live.
Testing the preview
Right-click on Gunheart in the Steam library, go to the 'Betas' tab and select 'alphastaging' from the dropdown. This will be using a separate profile from your normal game, so no progression will be carried over or lost. And we wipe the test player database on a regular basis, so don't get too attached to your temporary rig. You can switch back to the public release at any time by selecting 'None' in the same 'Betas' tab.
Send us feedback please! We have about 10-15 more mods planned right now and would love to hear community feedback for additional mod ideas. We'll also be pushing updates to alphastaging daily, so if you run into any blocking issues please let us know right away so that we can get it fixed immediately. Thanks!!
New weekly missions: Liquid Space Fine and A Booming Fruit Business
Two new missions this week featuring everyone's favorite explosive fauna, Boom Fruit.

The liquid spacetime-enriched soil of the Broken Zone seems to have enticed some Flyguys into the Boom Fruit farming business. Unfortunately the elevated levels of liquid space time have shorted your shields. Good luck!

We've noticed an increase in the Anthromite's Boom Fruit use lately, and have traced the source of this misfortune to a new farm in the Hollows. It's time to bring their productivity down one hundred percent!
