Right now there is a fresh Roguelike update available right now and more are coming in the first half of the week!

Big Rogulike Update №1

Now Roguelite is the main mode of the game and all mechanics are rebalanced around it.

-There are 14 encounter rooms to fight the emotions!
-Characteristic system is now changed to the rewards, that grants to you after winning the encounter.
-The rewards are: Health, Stamina, Attack, Heal and Abilities.
-Abilities reworked! Now they are customizable by increasing: damage, charges and cooldown reduction.
-Now you start only with RMB ability and for others you need to fight and win in the encounter!
-After you die clearing all your rewards and happiness transforms in suffering - new currency.
-Added new miniboss - Sorrow
-Added 2 new enemies - Envy and Shame

With future plans to add infusion system, add new weapons and biomes, later would also be story updates that would have place between the runs.

Optimization Update!

-Disk space required for the game was reduced from 5 gb to 1.5 gb!
Without losing content. It was possible by removing unused maps and assets from the game.
-Added description to stats that you can buy
-Fixed display of needed happiness for Levelup
-Added Running mechanic activating by dashing
-Reworked icons for skills

I wasn't all fixes the game needed and they will come in the next Story Update

HardRock Update!

Moveset of the Guitar massively updated! New level for Campaign added!

Guitar
-NeedForBlast it's a powerful weapon that's stands out in gameplay from TrebleSword. Basic attacks (RMB and LMB) cost motivation, but has a large area of effect and damage. To replenish your motivation you need to use other abilities on Q, E and R by performing sick and powerful guitar tricks

-For you to test it out I added a whole new level after HeartBroken!


Future Plans:
-I hope to deliver next update for this week and it would be a FeedBack update to address the criticism and improve game by fixing and tweaking the interface, mechanics and by adding new features.
-After that I am planning to improve story mode by adding new characters and cutscenes to make the narrative clearer and easier to follow. Also in plans to massively upgrade roguelike mode before the end of this month.

Depression's Mansion Update



Go against Jane's deepest fears in a tremendously beautiful mansion!

Depression's Mansion it's a new level between Nightmare and Heart Broken, that has a new kinds of enemies and a boss in final hall.

Also in this patch:
Balance and AI changes - now most enemies have 2 modes in fight aggressive and elusive. They defined by the distance to the player and attacks - aggressive uses melee and elusive uses range projectiles. This way fighting situations much more readable, and ability Blink has it's time to shine as a new feature - Bow

Alto Clef Bow it's a new weapon that goes along with Treble Clef Sword from the start of the game. It has a range attack that pulling enemies to the one point deals massive damage by consuming your motivation.

Ultimate ability (R) now casting by Bow and deals more damage. In previous there was a bug that made input not activating ultimate. Now you can cancel your attack animation to make ultimate.

Treble Clef Sword has new animations of attacks with 4 normal slashes and final powerful swing that does 3 times the damage of normal, So the player would be rewarded for ending the combo combo.

Block ability now has Wave attack on releasing the input (Q) that deals less damage than attack, but is good for keeping distance with the aggressive enemies.

Now there is 3 characteristic rather than 5. So it Stress Resistance for health, Motivation for manna and Agile thinking for damage.

State of the game and feature updates:

Last month was a really tough time, but now I'm fully ready to work everyday on GwenBlade!
There would be a more frequent update with less content.

Combat Update!

Combat Update made to address flaws in combat mechanics:

-Added new mechanic "Motivation"
"Motivation" is a valuable resource needed to perform all special moves such as Blink, Dash, and Note Wave. Jane gets MOTIVATED by attacking her fears and devastating emotions by simple attacks (Left Mouse Button).
-Block/Parry mechanic rework from the ground up.
Hit will be blocked if Jane has enough motivation to handle an attack(1 motivation to 2 hit points). If Jane is not motivated enough part of the damage will slip through.
There is a parry - if you press Q and get hit in the next 0.2 seconds then the attack will be paired with devastating damage to the enemy
-Simple attacks don't stagger most of the enemy, and the player can't trade hits in his favor.

Future plans

StoryUpdate Will be available on the 22nd of February and would have:
-An introduction before the first level
-New level between 1 and 2
-Level selection menu

RoguelikeUpdate Will be available on the 25th of February greatly rework overall experience:
-Completely new 12 arenas instead of 4
-More variations of Rewards for each arena
-New enemy setups to make fights more surprising

Feedback update

GwenBlade is becoming better!
What was fixed and what was new to expect.


General

-VFX toned down to make the screen more readable
-Added localization in infusion menu
-The infusion menu was visually reworked
-The infusion menu is now pausing the game to make players not fall off after picking notes.


Roguelite mode

-is now rebalanced to make enemies less spongy and have a lesser health scale. From 35% per level to 5% per level
-Fixed the issue with not saving Joy after death


StoryMode

-All segments with fixed camera angles were reworked - now for these segments, there is a new Launcher that helps the player to reach the gap.
-The Hookshot mechanic was hugely reworked. The initial problem was a bug that squeeze players into unintended places, like in the first level in the towers segment. Now hook shots launches the player into the intended place without clipping.
-Added missing music cue before level 2


Future plans
There is not all feedback that was addressed. Like AI and combat overall
On the 15 of February would be a Combat Update that will rebalance the enemies due to fighting doesn't really have some tactic skills involved or interestingly challenging enemies.

Narratively there are plans to improve also. The game has a really rough start, things are not greatly explained.
GwenBlade would have:
-An introduction before the first level
-New level between 1 and 2
-Level selection menu
Story Update would be available on the 20th of February

After that would be Roguelite update but details and date will be available after Combat update - stay tuned!
