Hey folks, I'm happy to announce the first FREE content update for Haiku the Robot - Corrupt Mode!


A new challenging game mode that offers an entirely new experience to playthroughs! Explore an alternative timeline of Arcadia with a storyline twist - Haiku is the virus.

With the virus now flowing through your circuit board, you are more vulnerable with only one health point - if you die, you will respawn at the last unlocked repair station.

Temporary health upgrades are also available to help you overcome some of the more difficult challenges in the game. Additionally, the core game has two new train stations; one in the most requested Central Core, and one in the Sunken Wastes.

Note: Corrupt mode unlocks after completing the core game.

Apologies for the inconvenience regarding Steam achievements. A player sent me their savefile through Discord and after having a look around I found what was causing the issue.

I had made a few adjustments to the save system in preparation for the Nintendo Switch release, and subsequentially this affected how some achievements are triggered. Lesson learned for the future!

When booting up a savefile, the game will run a check on that savefile to see if there are any missing achievements. This applies to the majority of the achievements, except the following:


  • For Safekeeping
  • Mundooooo
  • The Last Of Humankind
  • In Too Deep
  • Poetic Justice
  • The Graveyard Shift
  • Beep - Bop
  • Two Points!
  • Evolution

For these, you will have to revisit these areas to trigger them. I hope this helps you 100% the game!

Build 1.0.267


  • Disabling pixel perfect now looks better on screen resolution ratios smaller than 16:9.
  • Sometimes Steam will disconnect from the game, this is usually due to an internet connection error, and some people would miss out on achievements. I’ve implemented a check that runs at the beginning of the game for Steam achievements. It will also trigger if you save, exit, and load the save file again.
  • Fixed the font for Japanese which was preventing some characters from displaying correctly.

Build 1.0.266 patch notes



  • Some polish here and there. For example, added a glitch effect to the main menu and credits after defeating the virus boss.
  • Both Buzz Saw and Proton now have increased health, increased speed, and will attack you if you are pogoing the enemy to death.
  • Door boss also has increased health.
  • New languages; German, Simplified Chinese, and Japanese.



Build 1.0.265 (+ Ultrawide screen support)


  • Mother tire hitbox size has been increased to prevent players from pogo-ing the boss to death.
  • The following bosses will now trigger the defeated flag after their death animation has played: Garbage magnet, Buzz saw, Mischievous, Car battery, and Door boss. Previously, the flag was triggered at the start of the death animation causing confusion among players who accidentally killed the boss without knowing.
  • Added toast for our beloved Splunk.
  • Added speedrunnerconfig file where speedrunners can adjust certain values in the game to make their runs better. This file will be used for all future speedrunner tech that is added to the game.
  • Speedrunning: Loading times between different scenes should be more consistent now.
  • Speedrunning: You can toggle "speedrunnerAnalogInput" in the speedrunnerconfig file to maintain horizontal movement while pogoing enemies.
  • Ultrawide screen support is here! Disabling the pixel perfect setting enables ultrawide screen support.

1-Month Update and Limited Time Plushie!

Hey folks,

It's been a little over a month since the game launched and I'm blown away by the response it's received!

This is my first commercial project, so it's been an incredible feeling to watch Streamers play with their audiences, speedrunners break and tear the code apart, and modders start making mods for the game. Not to mention the 94% positive reviews out of ~600 on Steam!

This whole experience has been incredibly humbling, I can't wait to bring the game to the Nintendo Switch, and to release some more content updates.

It's finally here! Haiku the Robot has officially released on Steam ːorange_heartː

I can only hope you enjoy the game. The last year and a half of development have been great, and I've genuinely enjoyed the entire process of making it. A special thank you to the Kickstarter community for making this project come to life!





Bug fixing



While there are no major game-breaking issues with the game, it is still very possible that there are some minor bugs that we haven't caught yet. Over the next few weeks, I am dedicating my time to squishing any remaining bugs.

Future plans



- Free Boss Rush DLC: This funded stretch goal from the Kickstarter campaign will include more bosses, and a challenging gauntlet of boss fights one after another.

- More languages: Currently, the game supports English, Spanish (Latam), and Portuguese (Brazil). There are plans to add more languages in the near future.

- Nintendo Switch: While the release date is still to be announced, I have been periodically testing the Switch port throughout development, and everything seems to run smoothly. I hope that it won't be long until I can confirm a release date.

The demo will be returning for the duration of the Big Adventure Event!

Many of you reached out to me directly over social media to mention that you missed the Steam NextFest demo. Well, do I have good news for you! The demo will be re-activated for the duration of the BAE event!

There is one small caveat though. The demo is the exact same build that was available during the NextFest. Currently, I'm working around the clock to finish the game so I didn't have time to provide an updated version of the demo for this event. That means there are still a few bugs in the demo build which have already been fixed in the final game. My apologies!

Live Stream + Quick demo fixes

Hey everyone!

Firstly, I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who played the demo and to everyone who also left feedback in the pinned thread. I'm finally back from traveling all weekend (bad timing, I know), so I've had some time to implement a few quick fixes.


  1. Fixed an issue where jumping through doors would disable jumping temporarily (or until Haiku left the ground again by falling off a ledge).
  2. Fixed an issue where the laser sound would keep playing after the second interaction with Cable, the 3rd Prime.
  3. Added skippable intro cutscene for speedrunners. Press any button for 2s (note: the button must be a mapped button!)


I think these are the most annoying bugs that could be fixed quite easily. There are other issues as well which need deeper diving into and I'm afraid I won't be able to fix them before the event ends. Such as blurry character animations on high refresh rate screens, black cutscene, respawning isn't super robust, and attacking up or down is difficult.
