We have enabled Steam Auto-Cloud for the game. This should synchronize your save file across computers. The demo should also synchronize.

- We added a potential fix to the stuttering that users are seeing. If you continue to see stuttering, please let us know on the Happenlance Discord or in the Steam Discussions forums. - Also, if you observe reduced performance, please let us know about it. Thanks in advance. - We improved the user experience in PvP. - We changed the score to win in PvP from 30 kills to 15 kills. - We added support for longer filepaths in some cases.

- We added a German translation, done by Jan "JayyyDizzzle" Diederzen. - In cooperative multiplayer, you now have the option to "Restart at Flag". Formerly, you could only restart the entire level. - The full game now loads save files from the demo version. If you complete the demo and then purchase the game, you will be able to continue where you left off. - We added texture supersampling, which is similar to "4x MSAA" in 3D games. This feature is only enabled when you click on the "Fancy graphics" checkbox. - We added a debug screen. Press F3 to toggle the debug screen. Press ALT-F3 to hide the framerate graph. - We removed "Low-Latency Mode". We have explored other techniques to reduce latency, which will be employed in a future update. You may notice increased latency during gameplay, so if this is a problem, please disable V-Sync. - We removed keyboard-based controls for rotating the spear. - We removed Steam rich-presence. - We made minor visual improvements to the levels. - We stopped using the SDL_ttf library for text rendering. We now use the STB_TrueType library for text rendering. - We performed some graphics optimizations. - We fixed some glitches.

- We improved loading times by another 2x. - We made the sound code better. If you plug in an audio device, the game will detect the new device and restart the sound system. - We improved text legibility again. - You can now scroll through the credits if you are viewing them from the main menu. You can't scroll them when you beat the game. - We changed how the game fades in slightly. - We changed the credits slightly. - We updated SDL to version 2.0.20.

Valentine's Day Update - v1.03a - 2022-02-14
- We improved loading times by another 2-4x. - We optimized the game's rendering code. - We added an icon that displays when other players are online to play. - We fixed a glitch where bomb fuses wouldn't appear sometimes. - To celebrate Valentine's Day, we added a feature during cooperative gameplay. If you touch the tip of your spear against the tip of your friend's spear, hearts will appear. - We improved text legibility.

Happenlance Winter Update - v1.02a
- We coded an automatic crash handler. If the game crashes, you can choose to automatically upload an anonymous crash report directly to the developers. We monitor this channel closely, so please click "Yes"! - We added Ukrainian translation, courtesy of Ci8. - We fixed crashes for players who had non-English characters in their user account name. - We decreased the game's size by 100 megabytes. It is now about one-third smaller. - We optimized the loading time. Now, the game starts 2x-8x faster than it used to. - We optimized the physics code. Now, it is up to 2x faster sometimes. - We added Low-Latency Mode, which reduces input lag by 2x-4x. Low-Latency Mode activates automatically if the game detects that your computer can support it. - The game now starts with a "Loading" screen. - The game's sound effects fade out when the visuals fade out. - We changed the screenshot button so that it works better with Steam. - We made graphics optimizations to make the game run much faster on weaker computers. - We made minor visual improvements to enemies. - We fixed the glitch where objects on spikes could not come off. - We fixed a hitbox in Chapter 13 where the player could get stuck. - We removed the boxes in Chapter 7, because they were misleading. There will be an update soon to improve the co-operative gameplay at this part. - We improved the environment visuals in some chapters. - We tweaked the networking code slightly. - We changed the default window resolution to 16:9. - Added LiveSplit integration for speedrunners. An AutoSplitter has been submitted on GitHub for inclusion in LiveSplit. - Changes for speedrunners: Press CTRL-R to restart the current level. Press CTRL-SHIFT-R in order to restart the game from the beginning of Chapter 1. - Minor graphical changes. - Made some sprites more clear in Chapter 3 and Chapter 4. - Added Chapter 5 back into the demo version. - Updated the localization files.
