Haxor Devlog 5: Four Worlds

We strive to make every unique planet have its own properties. Investigate what is on each of them!
So if it's ice ... it's slippery too. And if it is overgrown or hot?

Here are the "specs" of the planets in the Haxor game:

Haxor Devlog 4: Now 50% More Awesome

Should the heroine in hard coveralls not fall slower against the wall? Yes, that's why we added sliding on the walls today. This small addition improved the game by almost 50%. Check out the new slide power below:

We've also added life bars for bosses, now everyone will know when THAT LAST HIT is. : D

Haxor Devlog 3: Adding Color

Earlier we looked at adding character to our game by increasing resolution from 8x8 to 16x16. With the increase in resolution, we had the opportunity to bring more detail. We decided to change the colors of the first world in the game.

We took the gray colors from the 8x8 version we talked about earlier. However, they did not perfectly match what we wanted to show. Fulgur is a world in which electricity dominates, now you can feel the engery in its veins

Haxor Devlog 2: A Matter of Pixels

We've experienced that the size of sprites in the game is of great importance to the project. Graphics based on the size of the field 8x8 pixels and graphics based on 16x16 pixels are two separate game creation philosophies.

We originally started the project in the lower, 8x8 pixel resolution. The sprites were very conventional and simplified. There was a clear spirit and sharp, demanding pixel-art but it was lacking detail. This is what our first prototype boss in the 8x8 pixel version looked like.

We decided to switch to the larger resolution after which the graphics gained more details, the background more taste, the opponents more of their coat. This in turn gave rise to the need for a richer palette of expression - four worlds were created, each with unique features and a distinct color palette.

The heroine of the game encounters a range of elements: electricity, vegetation, ice, and lava. We strive to make every world a new experience for the player and provide an extraordinary fun experience!

Such a change may not seem big when it comes to the numbers 8 and 16. However, this has completely changed the look of the game and bosses.

Haxor Anno #1

Hey!

We are mostly done with our new project. The game is about an ancient race called Haxor, such as the game itself. The idea came from a small project that I had started a while back, then Pikor joined and now we are working on it together. At the beginning, the game was based on 8x8 sprites, but after long deliberations, we decided to change it to 16x16 and add even more action to the game.

The game looked like this a year ago:

And this is how it looks today!

We’ve made huge progress, as you can see, but this is not all we’ve got… there are three more worlds to explore! We made a cold world, a hot world and a forest world. Each world has six huge levels. We hope you'll enjoy it.

Space is the worst place to get amnesia...

Do you remember the simpler times when games were pure platforming fun, encouraging us to polish our skills by throwing gradually harder and harder obstacles at the player? We do remeber and we cherish these memories. These memories led to the creation of Haxor – a dynamic action game with Commodore 64-style graphics.

So, if "retro" is your middle name, we're sure you’re gonna love the adventures of the courageous space explorer, Kla. Actually, hope it's not literally your middle name, cause if so, you probably had a really challenging childhood.

The ancient Haxor race stands on the brink of extinction. Their reserves of necessary life energy are nearly gone. Facing annihilation, the people of Haxor have sent a team of researchers directly into a black hole.

What could possibly go wrong?

Now Kla, the sole survivor of the expedition, wakes up in an alien world. Of course she's got amnesia. The sole survivors always loose their memories in the most inconvenient of times.

The thing is, maybe there's a reason why she doesn't recall her past. Sometimes remembering can be a curse.

Are you brave enough to help Kla find her lost identity by runinng, jumping, shooting and puzzle-solving? If so, please add Haxor to your wishlist so you can stay up to date with all important announcements.
