We want to thank everyone who has played Head 2 Head so far in its early access state. All the comments and feedback we've received over the early access period has been very valuable to us.
We are nearing the 1.0 release of Head 2 Head and we'd like to talk about some changes that are coming with that.
UI Changes
With 1.0 coming, we wanted to streamline the UI to look and feel cleaner and more responsive. We've taken some inspiration from some really cool UI from other games and we hope that you enjoy the changes!
Skullteria
Skullteria will be gems that you can equip to take on your journey through the headless realm. Skullteria contain buffs, magic spells, bonuses and other unique features, but they are persistent across all roguelike modes. You will gain Skullteria Exp whenever you defeat an enemy and they will level up, up to 5 stars, strengthening whatever bonus may be contained. The skullteria system will initially hold stats, but will develop deeper past 1.0.
Head Changes
With the addition of Skullteria, we've decided to change things about the heads you obtain. Each Head will have their own unique bonus as well as randomly generated bonuses that are rolled whenever you obtain the Head. Head's will also have a random number of Skullteria sockets rolled upon creation. Skullteria sockets are color coordinated, so you can only slot same color Skuklteria into Head sockets. The only exception to this rule is White Skullteria and White sockets. White Skullteria can slot into any socket. Any skullteria can slot into White Head sockets.
In addition to all of this, there is a new Head merging system to star your heads up. They no longer automatically star up if you obtain duplicates. You will have to manually select a Head to star up along with a different copy of the same Head at the same star level to sacrifice for the star up. With the randomly generated buffs on heads and rolled skullteria slot colors.
In-Game Drops and Currency
With the expanding game modes and depth of enemy interactions comes new rewards in the form of item and currency drops. These things will be used to improve your characters, level up Heads and Skullteria and tons of other things.
There are in-game currencies called Chromatic Orbs and Radiant Orbs that will allow you to reroll the color of a Head slot or turn it White respectively. There are also currencies called Master's Chisel and Master's Hammer to roll a chance to add a new Skullteria slot to a head or have a 100% chance to add one respectively. These in-game currencies can be obtained in normal gameplay and dropped from defeated enemies.
There will be more additions to items and currency post 1.0.
Price Change
We initially had Head 2 Head priced at $9.99 but we felt that we wanted to take the opportunity to get as much feedback about the game as we could, so we made the game free during early access.
Now that Early Access is ending, and we have added a significant amount of new content to the game, we are releasing Head 2 Head at $14.99. Don't worry, for anyone who has already obtained Head 2 Head for free in Early Access, you will keep the game and all of your progress for free.
Nintendo Switch Release
Sometime after Head 2 Head launches on Steam, we will be launching Head 2 Head on the Ninteno Switch at the same price point of $14.99. We will be aiming to have crossplay for online versus and we'll also be aiming to have cross progression via Epic Online Services.
Thank you so much for your continued support of our first game and we hope the new changes to the world we've built will keep you coming back for more!

Head 2 Head: Free to Play
Hello all supporters and enjoyers of Head 2 Head!
Over the past year we've worked hard to try and make a really fun game that we love. We feel like we've succeeded in making something unique and different. We want to get the game into as many hands as we possibly can. Before the eventual release of Head 2 Head on the android platform, we are making the Steam version of Head 2 Head free to play. Head 2 Head for Android will have cross play with the Steam version and both will be free to download. We may add small microtransactions to new features added but everything currently available in the game will remain free.
For those of you who have already purchased Head 2 Head, we are going to release an update before free 2 play that gives players exclusive heads that only early adopters can get.
Make sure you update your game before Tuesday, October 25th, 2022 to receive these heads!
Head 2 head: 0.8.7 EA
B.Swole's moveset is complete! Heavy duty grappler with attitude!
Control Scheme has gotten a small QoL makeover. You now have to hold forward or backward to do forward or backward variations of moves. Holding either direction will allow you to dash whenever it is available.
Some QoL added to the secret codes menu. It wasn't framerate independent before so it would eat inputs at higher frames. Inputting secret codes in the headcase should be more consistent now.

Survivial mode gets a rework. Some users found the damage scaling too steep and couldnt get anywhere in survival mode. XP was also scaling poorly.
