You have no idea how excited I am to be writing this update. I can finally announce that Heartworm has a publisher again - DreadXP! They're a perfect match for our game, and will be supporting us to bring Heartworm to PC.
There was a while there where I thought I might never finish this game - but that's not a concern at all anymore. Now I can get back to focusing on creating the best ode to survival horror that I possibly can.
A few things this means: - There is no kickstarter anymore. It was a backup plan had I not found publisher support. - Target release is 2025. I wish I could say it was coming this year, but with the delays we have had there's no choice but to push things back - I hope you can understand.
I can't wait to show you more.
Thanks always, Vincent
Updates / Misfortune / Kickstarter coming soon
Hey all - happy ~1 year anniversary of the demo and thanks to everyone who has played it, followed, wishlisted, or even looked at the game.
Since that release we acquired a publisher who was going to help fund, port, market, and localize Heartworm - so I could make it even better than I expected. I recruited a team of four really talented and passionate game devs to help me, and we worked for about 6 months.
Unfortunately, as of last week, our publisher has decided to terminate our contract due to financial issues on their end, and as it stands we need a publishing agreement to finish Heartworm. I am working on that, and in communication with some possible partners, but this was really unexpected and now we are taking a huge financial hit.
I really want to keep my team, and I need to be able to support them financially to do that, so I have decided to launch a Kickstarter soon. I am posting the presave link below, and I will post again when it's live. None of this is ideal for us but I am going to do whatever I have to to release this game. If you can and want to help it would be appreciated in ways I cannot describe, and if you can't but can spread the word that would be seriously appreciated too.
