Week 2 updates: 360° aiming, analog flight control, and more
Good news, everybody!
360° aiming is in, taking the form of a shoulder cannon which can be equipped in your locker. This cannon redirects fire from all beam and projectile-based weapons, using a reticle for aim. The reticle can be moved by the mouse, or the right analog stick on an Xbox 360/one controller. Using a controller with the shoulder cannon also links your thruster to the left analog trigger, giving you much finer control over rates of ascent, descent, and fuel consumption. With some practice, hovering is even possible.
The directional pad is now usable, for fans of classic control. We removed the fuel cost (25% of maximum fuel capacity) for jumping while already in midair. We're still playing and polishing, working toward some larger changes.

Our First Update - New Options and Normal Mode
Hi all!
Heckpoint has its first official update. This fixes some minor bugs, and introduces a couple new options (accessible via the main menu) and a new gameplay mode: Normal.
The first new option is the difficulty slider, which has four levels (Easy, Normal, Hard, and Hopeless). It affects enemies' HP and their weapons' damage. On the lowest setting, the enemy spawn count and loot value are both halved. In Hopeless mode, loot value doubles.
The second new option is the ability to disable screen shake. We realize that screen shake isn't for everyone, and disabling it can also make it easier to keep track of the action.
Normal mode is a bit more relaxed than Endless and the others. There is no glitch field on the left, so you can retreat without penalty to the left edge of the screen. There are no flying enemies, and the level ends when you activate the obelisk.
Thank you for your support, and we look forward to hearing from you!
