Beta 3 Now Available
The new beta update is now available for all current testers! Beta 3 brings a ton of new AI features, optimizations, bug fixes and some significant balance adjustments based on the feedback so far. Check out the release notes here.
For those of you not yet in the beta, we'd still love to hear from you over in the forums, and we'll be sending out new codes in the next couple of days so make sure to check your inboxes this weekend.
Beta applicants and last day for portrait contest
Thanks to everyone who sent in an application for beta testing over the weekend. The response was amazing and we'll try to get acceptance letters out by the end of the week. While we've likely got everyone we need now for the first round, we might still be able to squeeze a few more into round 2 so it's not too late to send in an application if you haven't already.
Similarly, it's not too late to submit your postings to the custom portrait contest. We're still taking submissions until midnight EST tomorrow so dig up your old Hegemony reviews or let's plays and send them on over to rob@longbowgames.com and you could see yourself as a general in Hegemony III.
And just to clarify a few issues that have been raised: the postings can be old or new, so whether you wrote a Philip of Macedon review 5 years ago or posted a Rome twitch video last night it's all great. And secondly, when we refer to sending a profile selfie, our artists are looking for a photo taken directly from the side where your face is in profile like the example portraits at the top of the contest page ( www.hegemony3.com/contest ).

Looking for Hegemony III Beta Testers!
Just in time for summer vacation we're looking for players to help us with the final play-testing and balancing of Hegemony III. All the cities and resources are on the map and we're just wrapping up the last units, but with the biggest and most dynamic Hegemony sandbox ever there's no way we can playtest everything as thoroughly as we want. So we're looking for players from the community who have the time and interest to help us playtest the game and give us feedback on bugs, AI, difficulty, balance, etc.
If you're interested in participating, please send an e-mail to rob@longbowgames.com with your steam name (not your login), machine specs (windows version, memory, video card, etc), gaming history and anything else you think is relevant to being a Hegemony playtester. We'll be sending out acceptance letters in about a week, but there are limited spaces available and all else being equal we will prioritize earlier applications.
Hegemony III Portrait Contest!
Calling all generals! Share with us your tales of victory and conquest for a chance to win a custom portrait included in Hegemony III. Send us a link to your Hegemony Let's Plays, blogs, game diaries, after-action reports, fan art, reviews or other long-form posts and help us spread the word about Hegemony. Each player who submits a qualifying post along with a profile selfie and faction preference (Gallic, Roman, Etruscan or Greek) will be entered into a draw, and at the end of the month we'll randomly select half a dozen (6) entries to have a custom portrait drawn by Longbow artists to be included in the final release of Hegemony III.
