Grab your stealthy shoes and get ready to sneak into Raven Brooks once again because we’re getting an update for Hello Neighbor 2 today! Patch 8 is here, and it comes with a bag full of new goodies such as improvements to the Neighbor house, art improvements, and pretty animations, upgrades of the controller, and various fixes.

Before jumping into the Update, we want to thank you, our community, for your feedback, which can’t be overestimated. We hear you and appreciate that you share your thoughts with us.

Improvements

  • Mr. Peterson reorganized the second floor of his house. Check out new hiding spots and sneaky shortcuts
  • Trampolines got some love in this Update with art and animations upgrades
  • Tooltips have been updated
  • The controller has been upgraded
  • Cop animations are now fixed
  • The foliage has been optimized
  • The map landscape is fixed, and the grass is now fixed, too, no more tripping on uneven terrain!

Hello hello, Neighbors!


The wait is over, and Patch #6 has just hit Steam! We highly recommend stopping by the park as you might stumble upon something new, testing trampolines, and checking out new animations! You'll find all that + more in this Update.

What's new

The trails in the park might look rather familiar, but something has certainly changed, don't you think? Get some fresh air and take a walk in the park to find it out!

A wardrobe has always been one of the best spying spots, but now hiding there is more fun. The animations of getting into a closet have been improved, while the Neighbors got completely new ones. Let us know in the comments which one takes the first place in your heart.

Quentin has decided to do a little rearrangement in the hub, do you like it?

Hello Neighbor 2: Patch #5 is live!

Hello, everyone!



The new Hello Neighbor 2 Update has just hit Steam. This update is mostly technical and involves under-the-hood stabilizations to prepare the game for upcoming updates since there is more cool stuff ahead!

In this patch, you can expect the graphics update, some new animations added to the game, & UI improvements. Stay tuned in order not to miss future updates, and read on to find out more about the current patch.

Immerse yourself into the Hello Neighbor 2 mysterious atmosphere with the new RTX feature implemented in the game. In collaboration with Nvidia, this update is introducing support for DLSS 2, RTXGI, ray-traced shadows, and ray-traced reflections, which gives a new in-game experience.

  • Quentin is no longer able to climb up/down without removing the wooden plank at the Taxidermist's house

DLC:

  • Bots no longer walk above the floor
  • The closet no longer blocks access to the the school basement
  • The gates in the quest with gears now work correctly
  • The drone hook now spawns with the drone and doesn't stay in the previous location
  • Quentin no longer escapes outside after jumping behind bookshelves

Hello Neighbor 2023 Roadmap: General Directions

Knock, knock, Neighbors! 🚪



Today we’re leaving the basement door slightly open for curious eyes to uncover some secrets and reveal our future plans regarding Hello Neighbor 2. Introducing the new roadmap for 2023!

Before we jump into the juicy details, we'd like to say that we’re incredibly grateful to all of our players and community who have been sharing their feedback! We hear you and are taking your thoughts into account to improve the quality of the in-game experience!

Based on your most frequent requests, we put more weight on gameplay features. In the course of future updates during 2023, the main focus will be on:

  • Creepier and smarter: New AI features 🧠
  • Neighborhood is expanding with new unique characters
  • More complex investigations based on an experimental approach 🧪
  • More lore exploration, to shed some light on past and future events of the plot
  • Upgrade of the existing world: new puzzles, secrets, easter eggs, and more
  • New locations? 👀 At some point, there will be even more places to visit
  • Quality of life changes

Sure thing, we can’t sacrifice stability and customer service. That said, we’ll also laser focus on:

  • More stable pipeline for console updates
  • Nintendo Switch version optimization
  • Fixing and polishing of the most important issues
  • Fixing and polishing of less prioritized issues

The winds of change have come to Raven Brooks, bringing with it AI upgrades, new features, some improvements & bug fixes.

Before we jump into the patch notes, we want to thank our players and community who have been sharing their feedback - it helps us improve the quality of the in-game experience. More cool stuff ahead.

AI Upgrades



🚫 STOP: private property!



Suspiciously staring at somebody's house? AI now watches out for you even outside the residence and follows you if you approach the boundaries.



🔎Hiding under the table is not that safe anymore.



Well, this hide-and-sick game has become a bit more challenging with AI catching you under the tables. Check out the new animations and choose your hiding spots wisely.



New Features



👁‍🗨 This peaceful (at first glance) town is definitely not that simple



Some suspicious gnomes with somewhat questionable eyes have appeared all over town. According to rumors, neighbors might use them to spy on each other. Do you suspect that your neighbor has a few skeletons in the closet? You can now use the gnomes and new street cameras to observe the town and find out.



🗑️New items to mess around with



Try to throw garbage cans or bags at your Neighbors and see what happens!



📌Quentin's office got an upgrade



Use the new pinboard in Quentin's office to solve puzzles more effectively and track all the connections between your creepy neighbors.



📚 Your progress is now safe in the DLC!



Check out the new save system in the DLC + polished puzzles.

  • Keep your scissors: The Policeman will no longer steal your scissors after catching you
  • Placing the camera on the streetlight poles works correctly
  • Pictures in the Neighbor’s house have been fixed

  • Some puzzles have been improved
  • All quests are now required in order to complete the School DLC

Hello, everyone!



We’d like to announce that Hello Neighbor 2 has just received the freshest Hotfix Update for Patch 3. This hotfix is mostly technical and brings fixes and polishes here and there based on feedback provided by our beloved community.

Hello, Neighbors!

Our team continues to work hard to improve the game with each update. Thank you very much for the feedback you share with us. It helps us a lot, and we greatly appreciate it.

Today's update to Hello Neighbor 2 brings a lot of improvements to UX and AI, animations, visuals, VFX enhancements, revamped inventory, bug fixes to the main game and DLCs, and much more!

Hello Neighbor 2: Patch #3 Release Notes



AI Capture feature improvements


The AI capture feature has been improved and has become even more... frightening!



  • We've updated the existing animations and added some new player capture animations for the characters.
  • The capture feature has become "smarter" under the hood - you’re no longer safe in a much wider variety of situations.

Inventory


The inventory UI has been reworked and improved.



  • Items will now correctly face players in the inventory.
  • Navigation has been significantly improved, making it more intuitive and clear.

Art & Animation




  • Many new visual effects have been added in different locations. The game world now feels even more alive!
  • A lot of props, textures, and animations have been enhanced for both the main game and the DLC.
  • Added a few minor cutscenes and animations.
  • We've patched a few potholes in the roads and fixed some fences here and there.
  • Lighting in houses and outdoors has been enhanced.
  • A lot of sound effects have been added and enhanced.

Quentin's office renovation


Quentin's office has been significantly improved and refined. You can now find many more exciting details and décor elements in there!



Game tutorial


The tutorial puzzle has been redesigned to make the introduction to the basics of the game more coherent and informative.

We have improved the pathways for players to make it easier to navigate and explore Ravenbrooks.

  • Gamepad controls have been improved
  • You can adjust the gamepad layout by selecting from a few control presets that better suit your preferences.

Bug Fixes



  • [DLC]Cutscene at the end of the Late Fees DLC is fixed.
  • [DLC] Fixed a bug that could cause the lock not to appear on the door in the Janitor's basement
  • [DLC] Fixed a bug that could cause the Janitor's dog models to miss textures while sleeping.
  • [DLC] Books in the library will no longer float in the air.
  • [DLC] The school will no longer have a white square on the ceiling.
  • [DLC] Fixed a bug that could prevent a drone from appearing in free-to-play after a boss fight.
  • Fixed a bug that could prevent players from being notified about overwriting the save file when creating a new game.
  • Fixed an issue where the slider in the sound settings did not match the cursor speed.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause the Mayor to get stuck in the gramophone texture when trying to turn it off.
  • The board in the Barn is no longer "hanging" in the air.
  • Players will no longer be able to climb out of the cage during a boss fight.

  • Fixed an issue where the time would not change in the cutscene with the newspaper in the basement of the Neighbor's house.
  • Fixed a bug that could prevent some objects from loading in the arrival cutscene.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause table models to be missing from the awakening cutscene in the office.
  • The car's wheels will no longer protrude through the walls in the 'arrival' scene in Barn.
  • Fixed a bug that could have caused a cap to be visible on Quentin's head under the bandage.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause some players to get stuck by a boulder model at the riverbed.
  • Fixed a bug that could cause players to get stuck on the veranda at the Taxidermist's if they tried to climb the cupboard.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the sound of the attic door opening from playing.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the sound of the metal door opening in the attic from playing.
  • Fixed a bug that caused some players to hear a repetitive opening/closing door sound when moving around the attic.
  • Fixed a bug that could prevent sound from playing in a scene after a boss fight.

Hello Neighbor Hotfix Patch is #2 Live Now!



As with last week's update, this patch focuses on various fixes and improvements, but also some AI upgrades.


Ai Improvements



You might wanna watch your ankles - and fingers, an-, well you get the point.



Mr. Peterson seems pretty obsessed with beartraps: now he places one in areas Quentin was last spotted during the Boss fight. Otto may decide to follow suit and will pepper beartraps around his property as well. Ai has also received a few other tweaks & improvements, but most notably:

Hello Neighbor 2 - Version v1.1.18.1 Update

Ai Improvements:


  • The Neighbor may install beartraps to hamper Quentin’s progress. Watch your ankles!
  • Otto may decide to follow suit and may pepper beartraps around his property as well
  • Residence boundaries + Ai navigation of residence/property improved
  • Officer Keith no longer gets stuck on steps of Peterson house


Fixed issues/Other improvements

  • Tweaks and updates to Boss fight: items prepared in advance will revert to original locations
  • Bonk! Quentin now reacts to being hit by items
  • Crashes in surveillance room after completing tutorial should now be resolved
  • ‘Continue Game’ & crashes after title screen should also now be resolved
  • Antenna is now visible in the player's hand when equipped
  • Inventory animations + various held item animations fixed
  • Item Respawning improved
