Greeting hunters, in this update we have various improvements across the board, from stim animation fixes to kelpie optimizations!

Improvements
• Confirmation dialog for equipping newly purchased equipment directly.
• Optimized Kelpie fight.
• Hid deduction slots when not applicable (e.g. sweeping, etc).
• Removed deduction slot popup clutter for non hunting jobs.
• Normalized job location name font & supporting european language.
• Reordered responses to early redback dialogue more logically.

• Fixed issue with stim animation often not playing at all.
• Fixed cryptonomicon notes getting messed up with new lines & tags.

Greetings hunters, this update is mainly focused on combat in an attempt to make your hunts faster, smoother and more enjoyable. It also has a bunch of random goodies which you can see below.

Also thanks for the reports in the performance thread, we were able to find and resolve a fill rate issue with shadowbeast, which optimized them by ~40%!

For all the people who offered to help translate the game, it’s finally here!
HellSign now has fan translation support, with workshop compatibility.

For the non-english speakers, please note there’s no actual translations yet.

Translations can be installed both from the workshop or from other sources for working offline.
• All dialogue, UI, item descriptions, and so forth are translatable.
• Translate by editing one simple text file.
• Built-in refresh button, to show your translation changes in real time!
• Update from older versions with one simple click, marking all new & changed entries.
• Upload to workshop, or simply distribute the file where ever you please.

Greetings hunters, the second combat update has arrived!

Cryptonomicon Entries
New Cryptonomicon entries have been added for the cursed paintings, corpse parasites, door mimics and more! You can now research and get the edge on every enemy with these new entries!

Obstacle Collider Fixes
Updated furniture and obstacles to allow for a more free flowing environment while investigating and battling within the houses!
This includes furniture such as tiny mailboxes and kitchen chairs, but also issues such as the infamous used uv projector trap.

HellSign v1.0.1.0 Update



Greetings hunters, the first combat update is upon us!

Surface Bullet Penetration System
Bullets now pierce light surfaces such as chairs, cabinets and the majority of the interior furniture, but stops at hard surfaces such as floor and wall foundations.
This was added to address the issue of furniture ‘consuming’ shots and adding artificial difficulty to target enemies.

Precision Toggle
Precision aim mode can now be toggled via a single click, and will stay in that mode until you holster/switch that gun.
This allows for smoother play as you can now focus on other things like dodging, reload, etc.
This setting is on by default, and we highly recommend veteran players to give it a few minutes to get used to it, however we’ve included an option in settings to change it back to the old “hold” mode.

Crosshair Revamp
The crosshair is now more distinct (previously was hard to see on white surfaces).
It also has its own size options in the settings. (to prevent tiny crosshairs in hardware mode).

We’re proud to release the Notebook!
Jam packed with quest logs, field manuals & glossary terms, no hunter should leave the house without one!
As mentioned in the roadmap, this is the first step in laying a strong foundation for new content to come! :)

Roadmap News



We had a blast working on HellSign in 2018, but we’re just getting started!

Aside from the critical fixes released last week (e.g. savegame safewrite, cabinet blocking room, etc), we have been listening to and watching the community play HellSign, and isolated what needs to be tackled next.
We have some amazing stuff planned for you guys, and the first step is to lay some strong foundations!

Quest log & Operation Manual
We will be adding the much requested quest log & operational manual. This will allow you to keep track of your current contracts, as well as gain a deeper understanding into the inner mechanics of HellSign.

Combat & Optimization
You asked for it, and you’re gonna get it!
Although we do enjoy seeing people die, we imagine getting lag raped by a kelpie can be frustrating at times!
So it’s imperative to improve combat & optimization as a stepping stone, before we can begin adding new enemies in ;)

Localization Workshop Support
There have been numerous offers to help translate the game, and based on suggestions on the forum, we’re planning to add workshop support for fan translations.

New Stuff
Once those are in we can really start rolling with the good stuff, but we don’t wanna spoil the surprise just yet :P

We’re pumped & super excited for the year ahead, with every patch we will make hellsign bigger, better, and thicker!

We’re back and fully recharged, hope you’ve enjoyed your holidays!

There’s much to do, so moving forward we’ll be planning the next milestones for the year ahead.
We'll release more information in the next few weeks.

And in the meantime some much needed fixes!

Fixes
• Fixed Smg #1 model, was missing the torch.
• Fixed Scouting Veteran mission, had a triple parasite outside (changed to single).
• Fixed bathroom sometimes had sinks not hiding with walls.
• Fixed 2d animation in locations sometimes glitched sideways.
• Fixed journal tentacle entry to mention cluster grenades (instead of proximity mines).
• Fixed rare issue issue where ghast attack & furniture throwing would trigger together.
• Fixed rare issue where ghast could spawn in shadow dimension.
• Fixed rare issue with spider attack during door mimic eating glitched player.
• Fixed rare issue with cabinet blocking a bedroom doorway.
• Fixed rare issue with multiple paintings showing in same spot.
• Fixed keys were showing journal deduction bonuses. (despite them not being signs)
• Fixed tutorial prompts persisting after death.
• Fixed multiple issues with birds (such as dead birds stuck in tree).

Improvements
• Improved various icons (e.g. nock volley icon shows multiple barrels now).
• Implemented safe savegame writing with backup, to prevent rare corruptions.
• Added prompt for locked doors when you don't have a key.
• Added prompt to unequip gun before unlocking door with a key.
• Added warning for toxic rain outside when fighting boss.
• Added new achievements & fixed bird achievement.
• Added timeout for tutorial prompts to go away on their own.

Holiday recharge to come back stronger next year!



With the year coming to an end and everyone getting ready to pack it in for the holiday season, we wanted to give a massive shoutout to the community for their outstanding support and positive feedback to HellSign since the launch 4 weeks ago!

As mentioned previously on the forums, after 3 years of non-stop work, even hunters need to take a break!
We will be away between the 7th of Dec running through to the 7th of Jan. During this time there will be a slight pause on title updates and patches, however we will try our best to keep in touch with the community until we are back. All we ask in return is that you give us a bit of slack and a chance to recharge, so we can come back at full strength and make HellSign the best game it can be!

Wishing everyone a safe and happy holidays, and keep that knowledge sharp over the break, cause when we come back we have all kinds of goodies planned! ;)
