A massive thank you to each and every one of you for supporting Hellsweeper VR! It’s been a thrilling week since launch, and your feedback has been invaluable.
Our first patch contains a critical fix for the Co-op bug that prevented some players from inviting friends and receiving invites.
We’re hard at work addressing Week 1 feedback, from game balancing, bug fixes, controls to server stability and more -- those will be up next.

We cannot be more thankful for the support of all our fans and players; we could not have done it without all of you. Our Development Journey
The past three years have been one hell of a ride. The global pandemic between 2020 and 2021 took us, like many other studios, by surprise. Transitioning to remote work posed its challenges, prompting us to adapt and revamp our workflow. However, adversity often brings strength, and our team emerged more cohesive and focused than ever.
Beginning with our Steam Alpha demo in 2021 and culminating in the 2023 SteamNext Fest Demo, we've taken every piece of feedback to heart, refining and enhancing the game. Our goal, ever since our time working on Sairento, was to push the boundaries of VR locomotion – and with Hellsweeper, we've poured everything we've learned and more.
What’s Next?
This launch is just another beginning for Hellsweeper VR. We still have a lot of plans lined up. Check them out below! Your feedback and support are pivotal, so don't hesitate to share your thoughts or even pitch us your ideas!

Devlog #10: Co-op Mode Deep-Dive!
Hey Hellsweepers!
We're almost at the finish line! Hellsweeper VR will be dropping in about three more weeks. It has been one hell of a long road and we simply cannot wait for everyone to experience everything the game has to offer.
Just last week, we released our co-op trailer, a mode that allows you to band together with a friend to descend into Hell. Today, we'd like to dive deeper into the game's co-op mechanics.

What can you do in co-op mode?
Apart from the primary objective - annihilating Hell's twisted souls together - we've compiled an FAQ list from questions posed by our cherished community on Discord. We believe this will help you get a better grasp of the co-op mechanics and the fun features we've integrated:
Q: Can I play Hellsweeper VR with my friends if they’re using another device? A: We are aiming for crossplay across PCVR, Quest 2 and PSVR2.
Q: Will my teammate and I be presented with the same blessings, weapons, and boons? A: No, each player is assigned distinctive blessings and boons to promote strategy and teamwork.
Q: Can I use or borrow my friend's weapons during gameplay? A: Absolutely! Friends can borrow each other's weapons, like guns or swords. The weapon's level depends on the wielder's own progression, but the weapon's traits remain consistent. However, if a weapon requires bullets, you can't manually reload it unless you've equipped that specific skill.
Q: Can I combine my magic with my ally during gameplay? A: Yes! For instance, if you're wielding a Volt ball and your friend has a fireball, you can combine them to produce powerful effects, like lasers. Collaboration can lead to some electrifying results!
Q: Can I infuse my friend’s weapons with magic? A: Yes! Players can infuse each other's weapons with elemental magic. This means one player can focus on a full magic build, while the other hones in on weapon expertise. You can see this in action on our devlog video.
Q: Is there an option to reload a friend's gun? A: If both players have equipped the reloading skill, they can indeed reload each other's guns. Though not the most efficient method, it's a fun tactic to try out!
Q: How does "bullet time" work in co-op? A: It's similar to how it works in our first game Sairento VR. Activating bullet time in co-op only affects the enemies within the bullet time bubble.
Q: Most importantly… can I pet my friend’s Hellhound? A: Players can definitely pet an ally's hellhound. But be aware, the hellhound stays loyal and only obeys its original owner, the one who equipped it during skill selection.
Accessibility and Options
To ensure everyone can customize all settings to their comfort, Hellsweeper VR offers a wide range of accessibility options ranging from rotation, somersault speed and even tunelling.
All options are saved in your individual settings so all players are able to experience the game within their own comfort levels. Don't forget to set these up on your first startup!
VR will not be limited to the platform your friend plays.

The co-op trailer for Hellsweeper VR provides an exciting glimpse into the world of Hellsweeper VR where players team up to fight against hordes of twisted souls. Do you dare to descend into hell together?
The co-op mode offers a full roguelike experience, with a good mix of strategy and RNG. Each player receives unique blessings, boons, and weapons. This mix enhances gameplay by offering a wide range of combat strategies.
Rogue-like mode: Fight rounds with various objectives, to end on a final boss fight. Get rewarded with loot and progress your upgrade your character, weapons or Hellhound.
Cross Play Support: Thanks to the cross play support it's as easy as ever to play with your friends. No matter which VR platform they are using.

The Countdown Begins: Just One Month Until Hellsweeper VR Launches!
Hey Hellsweepers!
We are just one month shy away from release! We would like to first extend our thanks to all the players who gave our Steam Fest Demo a shot back in July. Your feedback and comments have been integral in assisting us in our final lap, finalizing any areas you believe we can improve on.
We have noted down some important aspects of the game such as difficulty and controls. We have already implemented some changes that will be available on launch, such as reduced mana cost, improved sticky grip option and making dash a rebindable button.
As our main goal is to deliver the best possible experience, we are still open to any other thoughts about your experience with the game. Feel free to leave your comments!

We are so thrilled to receive so much gameplay from the community. We had a ton of fun watching ALL of them! While we wish we could have included every single video in the final cut, we are grateful to everyone who shared their Hellsweeper VR gameplay during the Steam Next Fest demo!

Over the course of development, we have showcased what Hellsweeper VR will be offering, and some surprises are still in store for full release. But we're not done just yet!
Other than the obvious polishing and bug fixes, there is still a little bit left we have yet to talk about. We just haven't quite released much about it... Watch out for a NEW trailer coming soon and our deep-dive devlog at the end of the month ;)

We'd like to begin with a huge thanks for the support and feedback we got from our recent Steam Next Fest Demo. For those who have missed it, we now have a release date: Hellsweeper VR officially drops on 21 September 2023!
This time around, we’re showcasing your future opponents - the rabid hellspawns you’ll come face to face with when descending into the depths of hell.

First off - the small fries. Minions are your bread and butter - easy to kill, but they can easily swarm you if you’re not careful.
Also, what’s with this Flying Head? Don’t underestimate them - they might be small but their aim is unerringly accurate. Don’t bet on them missing.
We also have our elite enemies. The Deadly Sins have come to ask you for penance, and expect them to make you suffer for it.
Meet Gluttony, Puppet, Envy, Greed and Lust. They each come with their own set of unique attack patterns and special abilities.
Take Gluttony and his poisonous spit, for example.
Enemies like Pride and Sloth aren’t grounded, so it’s up to you to find ways to use Hell’s defiance of physics to overcome this new challenge.
Last but not the least, we have the final bosses, the Ascended Sins who appear only to those who have proven their Hellsweeping prowess.

We are Extending the Demo for 1 More Week!

Thank you for your support during our Steam Next Fest Demo. We've received plenty of really good feedback and have even gotten to meet more of you on our Discord.
Many of you also asked about the state of the demo's availability post Steam Next Fest, especially if you've downloaded it but haven't had the chance to play yet...
The Hellsweeper VR Demo has officially been extended until 2 July, 11:30 PST!
Due to all the requests we've received, the Demo will continue to be playable for another week, up until 2 July. So if there was something you wanted to try or if you wanted to play with the Hellhound a bit more, here is your chance!

The Hellsweeper VR Demo is now LIVE!

The call is upon you once again: you have been invited to take a trial in Hell.
It has been a long time coming and the gates are open. The Hellsweeper VR Demo will be available over the course of this year's Steamnext Fest, from 19th June 2023 to 26th June.
And if you missed our previous announcement, Hellsweeper VR is officially launching on 21st September 2023 on Steam, Meta Quest 2 and PSVR2!
The Hellsweeper VR Demo will have full support for the following devices:
Oculus Rift
Oculus Rift 2
Meta Quest 2 via Air Link
Valve Index
HTC Vive (Needs to be selected at the start of the game)
HP Reverb G2 (Needs to be selected at the start of the game)
If you are attempting the Hellsweeper VR Demo on any other devices, do let us know your experience.
Before you begin, here are some instructions to access the Demo.
Ensure you have downloaded and installed Steam VR.
If you have played the Hellsweeper VR Alpha Demo back in 2021, please delete your save files. You can find your old Alpha Save files in this directory: C:\[USER]\username\AppData\LocalLow\MixedRealms\HellsweeperVR. If you have done this, or you did not play the Alpha Demo, you can move to the next step.
Meta Quest 2 Users
If you are a Meta Quest 2 user, you can connect to your computer via Air Link. To do this, boot up your desktop Meta App and connect your device in the app.
From your Meta Quest 2, hit your Meta Quest 2 Virtual Desktop and click "Play" as shown on the Hellsweeper VR Demo Steam page in your library.
The Hellsweeper VR Demo should begin automatically.
Steam Virtual Desktop App Users
Install the Hellsweeper VR Demo.
Start up Steam VR from your Steam app.
Boot up Steam Virtual Desktop from your headset.
Select the “Game” tab and click Hellsweeper VR Demo.
When you are ready to test your mettle in Hell's depths, click here to begin your challenge.
DEVELOPERS PLAY Livestream
If you would like to catch us playing Hellsweeper VR, we will be doing a Steamfest Livestream on 19th June, 10pm EST to 12:15pm EST. We'll be doing a live chat while we take on demons in hell, so if you have any questions feel free to drop them!
