Here Be Dragons
Captain's log - Day 39 - "Luxury cruise ship"
We escaped from this hellish mist. The weather is better and we're sailing unperturbed and lazy. I ordered to give some rum to the sailors to improve mood. It could work, but Navigator read an old manuscript and began mumbling about a dragon with multiple heads in the area. Good mood disappeared. Even Polly didn't want a cracker.
We are forging a very interesting update to be released on Friday the 27th.
Below please see details of upcoming changes:
Captain L. campaign - entirely new campaign with new Captain, new Errata's option, new map, new plot, new monster - Hydra, new skills and new environment effect - Vulcan. Twist for Captain's name included.
Bestiary - full access to the monsters guide from campaign screen. You can browse monsters and their special skills whenever you wish.
Skip button for cutscenes - if you are a non-lore type of person or you’re going through the campaign again you can now jump straight into action even faster.
Campaign introduction - and conversely, if you are very lore type of person or you would like to recall a part of the story you can watch every campaign intro.
And more...
Don't forget - Friday the 27th.

Captain's log - Day 11 - "Changes on horizon"
Journey continues. I started drinking again.
Navigator and Polly are competing every day trying to be the best in annoying me with their constant moaning and screaming. If things don't improve in next couple of days we will have vacancy for Navigator. And parrot...
As promised, we are working very hard to introduce certain changes. We plan to release an update this week (hopefully Friday, if Captain doesn't jump out from the ship), that would address some of your proposals and concerns (listed in previous entry).
We will provide details of changes in next announcement, but for now wanted to leave you with this small preview of upcoming changes in the gif above.
Captain's log - 2 days at sea
We managed to leave the port without unexpected problems - although as expected we had to come back to refill our rum supply.
Polly is very excited if not little annoying - she keeps screaming "choke, choke, choke" everytime she sees our cook.
I am starting to worry about our navigator - every evening he comes and wants to re-do his course - maybe hiring the cheapest guy in the port wasn't such a good idea...
Tomorrow we should finally see our first whale. Can't wait for those exciting chases...
Thank you very much for all your support, questions, suggestions, reviews and video content. We really appreciate that.
We will work hard to make sure that both currently available campaigns and new additional adventures will be fun (and surprising), well balanced, and very playable.
Our current plan is to provide you with new builds regularly (unless we need to immediately kill some very nasty bug). That will of course depend on actual amount of the new content and our RUM supply.
Next upcoming build will focus on adding some additional options, fixing balance of certain scenarios and eliminating all bugs we (and you) could find. The most important fixes:
UNDO option - ability to reset your turn (unfortunately no cheating with dice though)
Auto-cherub - we will allow you to actually choke it for good, so he will offer all dice automatically
Stronger wind - we will tweak our animations and UI so you can sail faster and more smoothly
Whales - we understand that combats with them are a bit boring and too long - we will look into making them faster and more fun
Behind the curtains preparations for additional campaigns (in following build)
Avant Armada leaves the shores - Here Be Dragons is finally here!
Fellow Captains!
Are you ready to face unspeakable horrors of uncharted waters?
Are you ready to put your fate in the hands of very unusual heroes?
Are you ready to choke the cherub?
We are!
Officials can no longer hide the truth.
Avant Armada will at last take back its place in history.
Polly the Parrot will sing once again.
Here Be Dragons enters Early Access, which means that in coming weeks we will add additional content (our looney crew has many more captains and stories), options, fix what needs to be fixed and balance what needs to be balanced.
We can't wait to hear your feedback and will be ready to answer (almost) any questions you might have.
Yeah! Here Be Dragons will finally arrive. The game will be available in the Early Access phase in the middle of August (the most likely 15th-16th August 2019).
We are very happy that we will be able to show you adventures of the Avant Armada and reveal real Columbus story. The truth that officials wanted to erase will be hidden no more!
We can't wait to read your impressions.
But back to the meritum of the case. The most important Q&A for the Early Access phase:
Why Early Access?
Here Be Dragons is in a solid, playable state. We'd like to know what players think about the game during development. Players can enjoy interesting gameplay and story of our title while waiting for advanced scenarios and challenges.
Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?
We expect to be in Early Access for 3-6 months. The time depends on players’ feedback. If there are many sugestions, development time may be extended.
How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?
We plan to add new 6-8 campaigns (18-24 scenarios) containing new enemies, story characters, player skills and challenges. We will try to improve optimizations for different configurations and we will add missing features. Updates will be releasing at regular intervals.
What is the current state of the Early Access version?
The game is already very playable. The current state of Here Be Dragons is:
6 campaigns
20 scenarios
4 captains
15 types of enemies
over 20 player skills.
We have full, very clear tutorial, important part of main story, advanced state of mechanics, finished UI and - last but not least - a lot of humour.
Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?
The price will rise after Early Access.
The price won’t rise due to the additional content added during Early Access.
How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?
We use our Steam forums and our Discord to receive players comments & opinions. We are always open for the feedback about balance, UI comfort, gameplay details and bugs.
