Patch 0.2.3 - Endless Mode done!


This weeks patch sees the feature completion of the Endless mode - with the new HALL OF SLAYERS. For this, we want to give you a summary of how everything in the Endless Mode work.

Challenge Cycle


Every Endless challenge cycle will run for 1 Week. A challenge cycle has three maps with a waveset that is the same for everybody. In the next weeks, we will add more and more maps, until all of the maps currently in the game are present as an Endless Map version.
At the end of the cycle, everybody will gain Rewards based on their Leaderboard rank.

Leaderboard


The goal of the endless mode is to come as far as possible, the more waves re defeated the higher your rank in the Leaderboard will be.

Hall of Slayer


Participating in the endless mode does not only give you resources like gold and gems, but also increases your Slayer Score placing you higher and higher in the Hall of Slayers, where only the mightiest vampire hunters reside.


Other Improvements


In addition to that, we've added a new Endless Map - THE TOWER !

Several Visual Fx have been improved and fixed as well, this should result in better performance as well as better readability.

Also - congratulations to the Top10 from the last challenge Cycle - holy crap, Vexon is on fire - somebody - beat him!

Hotfix 0.2.2a

This fixes an issue where the "Pope" Consumable would be heavily favored for the consumable drops during the Endless mode.

Patch 0.2.2 - Endless Rewards!


Today we are releasing Patch 0.2.2, with a nice new Feature!

Endless Rewards


From now on, playing in Endless mode will not only show everybody how much of a Slayer you are, but also give you some rewards.
At the end of each challenge cycle, you will recieve rewards baed on your achieved rank.

Every week, we are also starting a new Challenge cycle - this week this introduces a NEW ENDLESS MAP - LUMBERJACK!

Audio Improvements


As we got a lot of community feedback regarding the voice overs of the heroes, we have adjusted the system! The voice overs now should be
far less annoying. Additionally, you will be able to adjust the volume of the voice overs to your preferences.
Some elements that did not have sound before got their Voice back - like the Angry Mob!

Hotfix 0.2.1a released

We've released the Hotfix 0.2.1a - this fixes 2 major issues found by community members:

Fixed Decrease Charge Runes
Now, decrease charge runes work much better together - 2 epic runes will be more effective than 1 epic and one rare, like it is expected.
Additionally, we've fixed an issue that caused multiple Decrease Charge Runes to actually increae the charge costs at some point.

Fixed Orb Overflow Glitch
We fixed an issue that caused a possible overflow of Chargecosts, causing them to go negative, enabling unlimited charging.

Big thanks to Ryan is not amused for finding these issues!

Patch 0.2.1 released - Endless Leaderboards!



Today we are releasing version 0.2.1 - this adds a new feature:

Endless Leaderboards


We've added Leaderboards for the Endless challenges. Each challenge cycle will run for a week, then the challenges will be re-rolled
and the Leaderboards re-set. Try to become the best of the best!
With these Leaderboards, we also have a solid foundation on which to build the ranked Multiplayer up upon - so we are super happy
how it turned out.

Bugfixes


Of course we also did some bugfixes - these range from major one's like Orb on Hit Runes having a very low upper limit to some minor
Typo fixes.

Hotfix 0.2.0a

After a community bug report, we've just uploaded a Hotfix for the current Version.
This fixes a bug where using a lot of Reduce charge runes would result in 0 Charging costs.

Patch 0.2.0 - New endless map!

New Endless Map - Cemetary


We've replaced the medium Chairlift Endless challenge with a new Map, Cemetary. It should be a much a more fast-paced map than the other two.

New Endless Wavesets


All of the endless challenges have new wavesets - that means you can try again against a different set of waves.

As of today, we are ending this years Easter Event. Thanks everybody for participating and calling in bunny hordes with us!

It’s patch day again. Today we have something special:

Endless Mode


After testing it with you guys over the Easter weekend, we have been able to get it into the game in a first iteration. Though some features are still in development you will now have the chance to test your might and battle your way through “endless” hordes of sinister creeps.
This mode will grow over the coming weeks as we are excited to get your thoughts.

2 Month of Early Access - What happened?



As all of you know - we've been in Early Access for 2 Month now!
Only thanks to you, our strong community, we’ve been able to focus on improving the game more and more.
We improved the game and added features. All based on your feedback every week. We want to share all we have achieved together so far.

Endless Mode


With the last patch we’ve released the first version of the Endless mode, which will be improved in the next patches. You’ll be able to play Endless challenges on a lot of different maps and brag about it to your friends!

Hero Balancing!


As the game is called Hero Defense, it of course is very important for us that the Heroes are properly balanced – to this end we’ve implemented some additional features

  • We’ve completely revamped the way how different bonuses stack, making shrines and auras much more powerful in the Endgame.
  • We looked (and are still looking) at the usefulness of every skill and improve it where necessary.
  • We improved the Creep affinity of heroes like Barrows and Jane to make them fill out their roles better.



Rune Merge!


Everybody loves the Rune System – it provides a lot of flexibility and customization and let’s you play the game how you want to play it.
That is why we came up with Rune Merging for you – Lesser runes can be merged together to gain higher level runes – giving you a steady progress and improvement upon your rune set.



Improved Tutorial and first User Experience!


We've watched a lot of people play and listened to what you wanted, so we've improved some of the Tutorials and added some more where necessary.
We also did a major balancing pass on the play through of the campaign to give you a nice and smooth experience.
<*>Tutorials were added to showcase the building of Shrines
<*>We’ve balanced the last few levels to make going through them smoother and remove unnecessary difficulty bumps.
<*>The ability to skip Tutorials was added to allow for a quicker entrance into the game.

Tooltips!


To better explain all the various bells and whistles of the game, we've implemented a tooltip system, that shows you additional information about pretty much everything.
So far, we’ve included Tooltips for

  • Ingame Runes
  • For Currencies and Resources
  • Skills
  • Spells

Improved Controls


Especially at the start of EA we implemented lots of fixes and improvements to make controlling the heroes much smoother.

  • Fixed lots of issues with unresponsive clicks.
  • Added hotkeys for every action in the game and an option menu to configure them
  • Added border and arrow scrolling for the camera.

Map Balancing


Through lots and lots of community feedback we've been able to fix major exploits and very much improve the balance of the Heroes and enemies.

  • We’ve vastly improved upon the “gold farming exploit” that allowed to farm hundreds of thousands of gold pieces in a short amount of time
  • We already did several passes on Skill and Hero Balancing, to bring them all into an enjoyable range.
  • There were fixed and improvements in the later map balancing, they were brought into a nice range of difficulty
  • Removed unnecessary Difficulty Gates
  • Reduced overall need to grind a lot throughout the campaign.




Steam Features!


A whole bunch of steam features were activated:

  • 32 Achievements
  • 10 Trading cards
  • Cloud Saves to enable playing on different computers.

Additional Languages!


To allow more of you to play the game in their native language, we’re continuously expanding the available languages in the game – during the EA we’ve added quite a few supported languages:

  • Russian
  • Portuguese
  • French

Save slots


If you want to experience all of the changes in the game and the balancing and economy improvements, you can start up a new game without losing your progress!



Closed Multiplayer Tests


In the development of the multiplayer we've moved forward with a good pace - we already had the first successful tests with some community members and will continue to so.
Tough we did hit a few bumps on the way, that is why we cannot open the Multiplayer just yet - after all we want to give you the best possible Multiplayer experience!
